I mean, a bit unrealistic, but ok.

It had only been a few years since Rednedonia had been discovered by Lezran explorers. They had quickly industrialized and modernized themselves to be up to date with many Lezran powers. Rednedonia was on a whole different continent than the war going on between Austronta and their neighbors, so it had little to do with them. In early July of 1757, a noble from Rednedonia named Kaven Von Distinum was visiting nobles in Old utopia to solidify ties with the nation.

He is greeted by the King of Old Utopia, Klaus II. Klaus II rules over the nation's capital of Kanton Inu, along with its surrounding territories in what is known as the Duchy of Kanton Inu. Kaven is escorted by carriage to the great royal chateau, located just a mile away from the city.

"Why, you certainly have a fascinating city here your highness." Kaven had never seen the industrial wonders he had saw all along his trip to the chateau. Even with Rednedonia's embracement of new technology, most of the country still didn't have the resources or knowledge to adopt them to nearly the same extent as many Lezran nations.

"Well, we are a humble and kind people. Now, i was told that i was sent here to cement good favor with your nation."

I don't have the old terrain map but this is the only map I could find that belonged in our Napoleonic RP.

King Klaus seems almost insulted at the diplomat's blatant failure to show common ettiquete but he quickly hides his repelled demeanor.
"Do you seek an alliance of sorts?"

Kaven seems to think for a moment. "Not quite, your highness. I believe i am simply to help better relations with the Lezran continent. I figured a visit in order to familiarize myself with your glorious nation would be a way of beginning that."

The year is 1757, and the Balti are locked in conflict over Pondel. The Balti have currently driven back the detestable Sasts out of the Blue Mountains and have even captured the far northern reaches of the Sastan plains, but the Sastans are proving once and again that they are a formidable enemy. The wars that ravaged the Balti homeland just four years ago lie fresh in the memories of the populace, and many fear that failure in the ongoing campaigns could produce a horribly similar result. But neither have the Sasts forgotten the vast swaths of strategically important territory that the Balti have devoured in the last few years. The Balti have only one man to thank for these gains: Frederick of Austronta. Without his aid in the conflict, the Balti might yet be staring down the walls of Puto Vicorrio, and the strongholds of the Blue Mountains would fly the banner or Sasta. But alas, Frederick himself has taken the glory of the conflict, marching into a beleaguered Laumana last year to defeat the proud Sastan lords. However, on the whole, Austronta has been a faithful ally in Balticonia's time of need, and as these two emerging powers diplomatically grow closer and closer, only time will tell what they can accomplish. Only the Plains of Ghulauh and the Guymauta Ridge now stand between the Balti army and the second sack of Laumana...

March 1757, Cintornia
Sir Dietrich Lothringien, representative of the Austrontan crown, and cousin of the esteemed Emperor Frederick of the Five Realms of Austronta, announces his arrival in the Balticonian capital. After a celebratory dinner, representatives of Balticonia sit down to speak with him

[unintelligible]
...."problem at hand is our diplomatic position. The Wlasovians will simply not tolerate another expansion on our part.....assistance is necessary if it comes to war."
[unintelligible]
..."simply impossible. We have pledged neutrality to Wlasovia, and Balticonia does not often go back on her word. I understand the tight spot you face, but you must also attempt to appreciate ours as well. The people of Balticonia are tired of war. We want the Sastan portion of the Blue Mountains and that is it."
[unintelligible]
...."I am sure Podola will be sympathetic to our cau"--" Podola will give you anything you want, and you know it. But the king isn't Balticonia. I'm quite certain Balticonia would be simply another Austrontan realm if Podola were not checked. Podola does not--and will never speak for the entirety of Balticonia."
[unintelligible]
..."speak of your king? Podola's powers are not limited. Podola will force Balticonia into war with Wlasovia when Austronta is declared upon. I demand an audience with the king before I leave."

Lothringien stalks out of the room and negotiations cease.

OOC: I suppose I'll play the Austrontans for now, at least until the Fourth Coalition breaks out and I'm fighting against them instead of with them. You can play the Koranians too since you wrote most of their history, and being a government in exile could get boring eventually.

I can RP the Austrontans when it gets to the Fourth Coalition.

Whoops. I meant Old Utopians. My Google Docs that has more than the factbook was made when Wlasovia was your only nation here, so it says Wlasovia.

Rednedonia has been restored to it's old ways!

Woohoo!

I can change it from Old Utopia to something else, but not to Wlasovians.

Old utopia wrote:I can change it from Old Utopia to something else, but not to Wlasovians.

Ok. Before it made about zero sense to retcon stuff since rp was super active, and it would have confused a lot of people, but since it's mostly just writing nowadays, I think it probably does make sense now, since Old Utopia is kind of an odd name for a nation to have.

Once again, Klaus seems insulted, but he hides it almost as soon as he shows it.
"Your compliments are most generous..." He signals to a servant on the door.
"Dil te, ahori" He says.
"Well, I suppose I could have one of my servants show you around...I myself couldn't because well..." He looks Kaven up and down.
"Would that seem fine with you."

I suppose my nation is now Lucania. (Kingdom of the Lucanites)

Old utopia wrote:I suppose my nation is now Lucania. (Kingdom of the Lucanites)

Oh, cool name. I'll do a find-and-replace in Google Docs

To clarify, someone from Lucania is a Lucanite, not a Lucanian?

What does Dil te, ahori mean? I have no idea for the Dil part, but the te probably means you, and the ahori probably means now?

Dil means the.
Te means tea.
Ahori means now.
The tea, now.
