Hello Renegades!

How is everyone doing? We at the European Union hope that you are all well and thriving.

The European Union had a very busy (and fun) time in July, which included elections in our regional government! Read all about it in our July update:

European Union

European Commission
Premier Commissioner Jean Claude Juncker (Spain In The South)
Commissioner of Internal Affairs Kevin Cotilla (Leagio)
Commissioner of Foreign Affairs Antoni Reynels (Inquista)

European Council
Speaker Iras Tilkanas (Eastern Haane – Istkalen)
Deputy Speaker Nicholas Benfield (Inimicus)

European Court of Justice
Chief Justice Judy Scheindlin (Brum Brum – United Duchies)
Justice Robert French (--the United Kingdom)
Justice Raymond Gauthier (Leagio)
Justice Dayo Mwangi (Elthize)
Justice Benjamin Steyn (Inimicus)

Commission Politics

Commission Elections Swept by Progressives
The thirty-second European Commission was elected on July 26th. Spaniard Jean Claude Juncker (European Progressive Alliance) was elected as Premier Commissioner with 77% of the vote, defeating Duchian opponent Calvin Kühnert (Independent). Leagioan Senator, Kevin Cotilla (European Progressive Alliance), was elected as Commissioner of Internal Affairs with 62% of the vote, defeating the incumbent Commissioner Ilmaras Kalessed of Istklaen (Party of the European Left). Inquistan Bishop, Antoni Reynels (European Progressive Alliance), ran unopposed for Commissioner of Foreign Affairs and was unanimously elected. The election marked the first time that EPA commissioners had been elected to office since 2020.

Sliding Into DMs
Outgoing Internal Affairs Commissioner Ilmaras Kalessed has overseen changes to the EU Commission App, which will allow European netizens to directly message any European politician, and will allow netizens to also directly comment on any proposed legislation.

Council Politics

European Agricultural Fund
The European Council is currently debating an act which seeks to create the European Agricultural Fund, which will provide economic assistance to workers of European farming and fishing industries. The proposal has been put forth by Premier Juncker, who promised region-wide subsidies for European farmers and fishers during his Commission campaign.

European Order of Merit Nomination
Commissioner Reynels has nominated Eurocorps Commander Vincent Drake of the DUXBURIAN UNION to the European Order of Merit for “his contributions to European security and global peace.” Commander Drake has served as Commander of the European Corps since its inception in 2020. The nomination is now up for Council debate.

European Central Bank Election
Premier Juncker has opened nominations for a new President of the European Central Bank. Candidates from the Unites Duchies (Brum Brum), Istkalen (Eastern Haane), Spain In The South, and United Reichs of Reitzmag have been nominated, and are currently making their cases for the ECB Presidency.

Constitutional Amendment
Councillor James Mizrachi-Roscoe of the United Duchies (Brum Brum) has proposed a new clause to the European Constitution that would prevent the EU from fining European companies more than 1% of their pre-tax profits for breaches of European law. Councillors are currently voting on the constitutional amendment, which looks likely to be defeated.

Repeal of the Elected and Accountable Council Act (EACA)
The Elected and Accountable Act, which at one point in time required all members of the European Council be directly elected by the people of their country of origin, is currently being voted on to be repealed. The repeal of the EACA seems very likely, following amendments made in March 2021 that weakened the legislation, only requiring member states with less than 12 months in the European Union to elect their Councillors.

Amendments to the Mental Health Act
Councillor James Mizrachi-Roscoe of United Duchies (Brum Brum) has proposed amendments to the European Mental Health Act, which would decentralize current mental health services away from the European Health Organization, and entrust them with relevant national organisations instead.

Council Safety Act is Rejected
A proposal made by Councillor Iras Tilkanas of Istkalen (Eastern Haane) to increase the security of the European Council was defeated in a 6-3 vote against. The proposal sought to ban certain controlled substances, flammable materials, and weapons from the European Council, implement cushioned ceilings, walls and floors, restrict chamber furniture (including banning sharp-edges), and would have created restrictions for entering the site.

European Council Majority Increase Rejected
Then-Commissioner Kalessed proposed a constitutional amendment which would have raised the definition of a simple majority within the European Council from 55% of those present to 60% of those present. The proposal was unanimously defeated with 5 votes against.

European Neurodivergent and Disability Rights Act Amendment
Amendments proposed by Councillor James Mizrachi-Roscoe of the United Duchies (Brum Brum), which aim to soften certain requirements of the European Neurodivergent and Disability Rights Act, were passed with only 2 votes for and 2 votes in abstention. The amendments allow for “reasonable adaptations” of the legislation’s mandates and requirements, and spell out situations where adaptations are exempt or not necessary.

European Court of Justice

ECoJ Elections
July saw a new European Court of Justice elected alongside the new European Commission. Judy Scheindlin (United Duchies – Brum Brum) was elected Chief Justice while Robert French (--the United Kingdom), Raymond Gauthier (Leagio), Dayo Mwangi (Elthize) and Benjamin Steyn (Inimicus) were all elected as Justices. Justice Judy Scheindlin is the first Chief Justice to serve from the United Duchies.

News From Around Europe

Jesus Never Dies
President Jesús Aguilar of Spain In The South has won re-election as Spanish President, following six years of already being in power. President Aguilar and his Partido Popular won the Spanish general election in July with 264 seats, claiming a slim majority of 3 seats. The Partido Socialista followed with 121 seats, VOX with 40 seats, Sumar and the SNP with 18 seats each, Esquerra Republicana with 13 seats, Unidas Podemos with 12 seats, and minor parties claiming a handful of other seats. Spanish Senate elections saw a similar distribution pattern in their results. President Aguilar will now oversee his fourth cabinet.

You’ll Win With the Right Priorities
A general election in --the United Kingdom saw the incumbent Tory government defeated and a Labour government elected in its place. As their first act in government, the new Starmer government successfully repealed the country’s Adult Video Law, giving its citizens greater access to explicit adult content.

Doing the Bare Minimum
The National Congress of Leagio introduced a federal minimum wage across the country, which stands at 11 Sulias an hour. Until now, minimum wages had only been set by state and territorial governments of Leagio.

EMU Ready to Fly in Elthize by 2024
President Greenwich Grimwald of Elthize has promised that his country will adopt the European Monetary Unit (EMU) as a currency no later than January 2024. The EMU currently serves as a currency of Spain In The South, Inquista, the United Dominions of Icholasen, Fremet, Vayinaod, Montenbourg and Leagio.

Inquistan Center for Children Who Can't Read Good and Wanna Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too
The College of Bishops of Inquista have passed educational reforms that will streamline and expand mandatory subjects for Inquistan primary and secondary students. Changes to secondary education will, for example, see maths, at least one science, English, Latin or a modern foreign language, religion, and at least one art class become mandatory, with only two other subjects of personal choice being permitted per year. Previously, the only mandatory subjects in secondary school were English, Latin, and religion, with all other subjects being subjects of personal choice.

AeroDux and Easyjet: Our Flights Bring You Closer to Heaven
Flights have been restored to normal within the airspace of the United Duchies (Brum Brum) following a collision in June between an AeroDux A350 and an Easyjet Duchies A320 that left 492 passengers dead.

Soiled Soil Soiling Soil
The government of Eastern Haane (Istkalen) implemented land measures that included the nationalization of non-urban land, and land value taxes that were levied on land users, which ultimately resulted in mass protest by farmers. The measures went on to be repealed, but not without creating a rift with the New Agrarians, who were expected to be included in the government of the country. Ilmaras Kalessed, who is now leader of the New Agrarians following her service within the European Commission, has remarked that "so long as this government stands, the farmer will not be at peace.”

Giving the People What They Want
Two referendums were held in Lusitania y vettonia. The first referendum concerned decentralizing greater powers to local authorities, while the second referendum asked whether voters wanted to establish a monarchy for the country, which is currently a republic. In both cases, voters responded enthusiastically in the affirmative, giving royalists and local Neathian tribes (who’ve pushed for greater local autonomy) much to celebrate. The referendums follow a period of relative political instability, where the shaky government has barely managed to survive votes of no confidence. Protests continue to be ongoing in the country due to political strife.

The Untouchable Bald Head
The National Imperial Council of Inimicus is currently discussing a new constitutional amendment proposed by the Imperial Palace, which would prevent the Council from ever being able to impeach the Inimican Emperor. This proposed constitutional amendment comes after the Inimican House of Commons indefinitely dissolved itself in June, following a previously passed constitutional amendment that requires the Inimican lower house to only ever meet by the Emperor’s decree or by the Imperial Council’s request.

Delete Your Account, Czech Bot
Spam bots originating from Czech Slavia have taken over the cyberspace of Inimicus, flooding Inimican social media and social media user inboxes with spam. The intention of the spam bots are not clear, but an Inimican professor believes that the bot accounts are operated by "individuals paid or supported by organisations or official institutions in Czech Slavia”. It has not yet been made evident if the Czech spam bots intend to make use of the EU Commission App’s new direct messaging features.

Social Distancing Now in Effect
A new law approved in Gadalland and aspern will ban all protests that have greater than 1,000 persons in any of the country’s major cities, greater municipalities and their suburbs.

Royal Retirement
King Jean IV of Ineland has stated his intention to abdicate as king of the country after 37 years on the throne. King Jean will be turning 70 years old in September, and has alluded to his health as being a principal factor in his abdication. The Inelandic King’s announcement marks the first time that a monarch has abdicated in the country’s modern history.

My, What A Big Nuke You Have
The government of Czech Slavia has confirmed that the Czech Armed Forces have successfully tested a nuclear weapon in the region of South Moravia. The nuclear test brought a successful end to Project Morana, the Czech nuclear weapons development program. Project Morana was announced after the European Nuclear Weapons Authority (ENAA) unanimously agreed to award Czech Slavia with a limited nuclear weapons license earlier in May of this year.

This regional update has been issued by the Commissioner of Foreign Affairs.

The cuisine of Jute is, owing to the size of the island, its diverse cultures and historical lack of infrastructure, very varied regionally, even locally.

The most famous Jutean dishes are varieties of pancakes made with coconut, green banana or yam flour (later also corn or rice flour), fried banana mash with e.g. chocolate, But cuisine on Jute varies greatly, even more than culture otherwise does on Jute.

Over time, the different cuisines influenced each other to various extents and engaged in exchanges and transfer of knowledge. One of the first and most notable events was the spread of frying to Coastal Jutean communities, when their lands were invaded and occupied by Klambari, who brought pans and the first dishes employing them. Later contact between Coastal Juteans with Samwati and Ystelians, both of which also have indigenous metalworking, reinforced this and introduced many new recipes using frying, such as pancakes.

Later colonization by Ariven and the Kalab Empire continued this process, leading to Jutean cuisines, but especially the Coastal Jutean cuisine who had the most contact to colonial settlers, gaining many new influences. During the colonial era, urbanization began and increasingly many people at the coasts moved from subsistence agriculture, fishing and gathering to visiting eateries or obtaining food exclusively at markets.

Modern Jutean cuisine typically involves no baking, as apartments tend to not be outfitted with an oven due to them needing too much fuel and traditional pit ovens being unfeasible in dense urban environments. Frying, cooking and roasting in a pan is generally preferred, or sometimes a barbecue in a garden or park. Fire pits are sometimes still employed in the countryside, but generally unpopular due to the amount of space and labor required to make a firepit, maintain it and heat up stones.

Coastal Jutean

This cuisine is the predominant one in the regions which historically have been populated by the Coastal Juteans (sometimes incorrectly shortened to Juteans), which includes mostly the central and southern coasts with its large towns and villages alongside railways, as well as the part of the interior neighboring these coasts, where native Coastal Jutean speakers can be found up onto 30 km inland.

These communities traditionally have largely pescetarian cuisines, dominated by fresh fish, fruits such as breadfruit, sweetsop and later banana, as well as coconuts and vegetables including jute leaves and a seaweed known as sea grapes (Caulerpa lentillifera), gathered wild or grown in small fields or in forest gardens in communities directly bordering the rainforest.

Both Jutic communities share similar traditional cooking methods, such as steaming and baking in fire pits between hot stones and using cooking pots on three-stone fires. A famous ancestral dish is a puddings made from coconut and/or breadfruit flour (later also green banana flour) mixed with coconut milk and seasonings and then wrapped in palm leaves, steamed in a pit, with vegetables and fish later added. Three-stone fires were used to roast fish and cook soups and steam vegetables in pots. Klambari and Samwati communities, with indigenous metalworking, also used metal pans and frying using coconut and kenaf oil.

Main dishes

While fish has been a staple for more than two thousand five hundred years now, a large number of dishes remain vegetarian, suiting especially the, compared to other nations, large amount of vegetarians among the population. These meatless dishes often are based on various tropical vegetables grown in forest gardens as well as coconuts, with fruits sometimes complimenting them. Poultry is hardly used, though eggs are somewhat popular and can be added to a lot of meals, usually vegetarian ones. However, they're rarely eaten separately. Other meats or animal products are almost unheard of and are traditionally not used.

Side dishes

Jute leaves

The national food of Jute and Coastal Juteans in particular, the jute leaves aren't just sharing their name with the nation, they are seen as a symbol of it and the Jute plant is the national plant of Jute. Already having been grown on the central and southern coasts for thousands of years, it's now seen all over the island.

Tender and full of taste, which foreigners have compared to spinach, it's also choke full of nutrients, including beta-carotene, iron, calcium and Vitamin C as well as E. It's also rich in antioxidants, all of which has made it earn its place in a healthy diet as well as preventive and curative medicine, where it has been used for example against fever, colds and cystitis. It also can help prevent chronic diseases and cancer, or cure a lack of appetite or fatigue. It's also said to be the secret of the often fair and wrinkle-free skin Juteans are renowned for.

In Jutean cuisine, it can be a simple cooked side dish, sometimes paired with either plantains or sometimes rice, or be made into a simple, thick soup. Other culinary uses include a thickener for all kinds of soups and stews as well as sauces. Sometimes it's also drank as a hot beverage similar to tea. Try it in the Saan a havan bar at the beach of Southern Jute City, famous for adding a special spice mixture to it. Or order a warm Jute salad in Ohajun, located in the northeastern edge of the city.

Plantains

These are staple starch of Coastal Juteans. They are harvested early, before becoming fully ripe, and then cut into slices and cooked or fried. Other starchy food, like rice, corn in general isn't as popular, especially not compared to other food groups.

Desserts
See also: Recipes for Jutean snacks

Pancakes, made with coconut or banana flour, eggs and coconut milk have been popular for a long time, and are often topped with banana slices, hot chocolate or a fruit preservative. Lately, other flours, such as corn or rice flour have also become used, although they are not as popular as the traditional variations.

Jute City

While cooking in Jute City is still rooted in Coastal Jutean cuisine, due to the centuries of trade and contact with other nations as well as due to the large number of immigrants living in the city it's notably different from the more rural communities, having a lot of international influences and therefore being very "fusional", combining imported ingredients and recipes with traditional ones to experiment with new flavors and thus create new dishes that have proven popular with tourists and domestic visitors to the city alike.

River Jutean

The cuisine of River Jutean communities, overwhelmingly located deep within the island in rainforested regions, is similarly primarily based on fish, fruit and vegetables however, crops are not grown on open fields, only in forest gardens or gathered in rainforests. Fruits and berries exist in bigger variety in the rainforest, and seaweed is replaced by chayote squash. Hunting also takes place in some communities, especially those close to the Klambari communities.

Klambari

Shepherd red-white soup

Main dishes

Historically having been predominantly hunters, shepherds and keepers of cattle, a lot of dishes are very meat-heavy, often also featuring rich amounts of hard local cheese. Eggs are rarely used, since keeping poultry is, unlike in the lower regions of the island, uncommon. Aside from beef, lamb and cheese, the dishes always include some fresh or cooked vegetable from the rainforest as a contrast and to liven up the flavor, but they're rarely the center of a meal, with only very few exceptions. Usually, if meat isn't the base ingredient, rice or a rice product is.

Examples:

Side dishes

Black rice

The traditional staple of the more mountainous part of the island in the Southeast, home to the Klambari speaking population. Possibly cultivated for even longer than Jute leaves, they are the favorite side dish of the region, but also have started to become popular in other corners of Jute, notably in cities and the valleys close to the mountain range.

Similar to brown rice, but with an even stronger nutty, almost a bit fruity taste and a soft, but chewy texture, it's a grain to either be adored or despised. Though whoever chooses to stay away from it will also miss out on the high amounts of vitamin B1, B3, B6, E, manganese, phosphorus, iron, zinc, fiber and essential fatty acids. It also includes antioxidants in an amount that might even exceed that of blueberries.

Like other kinds of rice, it's usually cooked or steamed and then served as a simple side dish, however it can also be made into bread, pudding or, as a breakfast or simple evening meal, porridge. Sweets also often contain black rice, which then all have the characteristic deep purple color black rice turns to when cooked. Central Ambato has a lot of small snackbars selling a great variety of dishes, always with black rice on the side or mixed with other fresh, local ingredients.

Desserts

Rice flour is used for a lot of desserts, including pancakes, porridges or cookies. These are often topped or filled with local fruits and nuts, apples and walnuts in particular are popular. There are also some flourless fruit-based desserts, which can consist of fried fruits on a stick or in a bowl, mixed with dried fruits or nuts. The sweetener of choice is usually honey.

Samwati

The cuisine of Samwati communities is similar to the one of Klambari communities, however, hunting is generally replaced by fishing. There is also more trade with River and Coastal Juteans which has led to eggs and other typical Jutic ingredients be incorporated into Samwati dishes.

"Poem about Power"

Happy are the slaves
who think themselves
masters and nothing else
they can ignore serfdom

They prefer to pretend to
themselves that the chains
they are carrying around
are signs of power

Break away they will never
for the realizing of a life of prison
yes, this is terrifying
and freedom hopelessly too large

Happy are the mortals
who think themselves
gods and nothing else,
think they powerfully control (many things)

They prefer to delude
themselves into ignoring the collapsing
of the towers of power little by little,
(which were) built on wet sand.

They shall never realize this,
the depth of powerlessness
of their endeavor; in (all)
of that time*, they were never able to (really) live

Maggie: *quickly takes it and chases it with some Sprite* *pulls out her phone and quickly answers a text* *pours another shot*
Voice: "Hey Maggie! There's a new miniseries on Netflix that takes place in your homeland. Also, can you grab a White Claw for me?"
Maggie: "Sure." *quickly takes the 2nd shot and chases it with more Sprite* *pulls 2 cans of White Claw out of a box on the counter*
*She walks over to the couch, sits down, and hands a can to her roommate Freya, who is wrapped up in a blanket.*
*The scene opens up with a shot of a town and a caption at the bottom saying "Antioch, Pensyltuckee Island. 1991".
Maggie: "Oh, they got that all wrong. Antioch don't look nothin' like that."
Freya: "Maybe it looked different back then. It's been like 30 years."
Maggie: "Oh, no, it didn't. Trust me. My grandmama's from Antioch and she shown me pictures of Antioch from she was a little girl and it basically still looks the same."
*About 2 minutes later, they hear a knock at the door.*
Freya: "That must be the UberEats guy. Pause it."
Maggie: *picks up the TV remote and pauses the show* *looks at her phone for a little bit*
*She suddenly hears Freya scream.*
Maggie: *quickly stands up and reaches for the nonexistent revolver on her hip* *looks down and realizes that she doesn't have one because guns are very hard to legally own in this country* "Oh." *quickly looks back up and sees Freya holding a paper delivery bag and freaking out*

Freya: "What the ****?!! This apartment's only like 3 years old!! Why are there already rats in here?!!"
Maggie: *looks at the dead rat*
Freya: "I opened the door and grabbed the food on the welcome mat. Then that ran out of nowhere into the apartment!!"
Maggie: *picks up the rat by the tail and looks at it for a second*
Freya: *retches* "Maggie, do not eat that. Do NOT eat that." *retches again*
Maggie: "Hahaha, I ain't going to... We got sushi right there. One of the stray cats wandering outside'll eat it..." *walks over to the window and opens it*
Freya: *sets the bag down on the table* "Uh... have you.... Eaten rats?"
Maggie: "No." *pauses for a few seconds* "I think of one of my cousins in Pen City did once though when he didn't have no other food and was plumb bro-"
Freya: "Wait, let me get a picture really quick before you throw that out." *pulls her phone out*
*Maggie holds the rat up while Freya takes a few pictures.*
*Maggie quickly does a pose where she's holding it above her face and her mouth is open as if she's about to drop it in her mouth and eat it.*
Freya: *takes the last picture* "Perfect." *scrolls through the pictures* "Oh, that looks so gross...." *still looks as if she's about to throw up* *staring at her phone* "Is it okay if I post this?"
Maggie: *shrugs* "Sure, I don't care none. All our friends think I'm a weirdo anyhow. Hahaha." *chucks the rat outside and closes the window* *goes over to the sink and washes her hands*
Freya: *sits back down on the couch* "I can't believe you actually did that. Like... Pick it up like that and not be grossed out."
Maggie: *takes one of the sushi boxes out of the bag and pulls out the chopsticks* "Well, you know me... I growed up killin and butcherin hogs and chickens and whatnot at my grandparents'. And course, my pa took me huntin fer all sortsa critters since he ain't never had a son... I reckon after all that, a single rat ain't nothin to be too worried about..." *picks up a piece of sushi, dips it in the soy sauce, and eats it*
Freya: *looking at her phone* "I like it when you get drunk. Your accent reeaaallly comes out."
Maggie: "Yeahhhh, I'm kinda a lightweight, ain't I?" *laughs* *picks up the remote and resumes the show* "Guess it runs in the family, though my family don't drink at all. Real Christian folks." *eats another piece of sushi* "You gonna eat?"
Freya: *looking at her phone* *looks up* "Umm... I'll eat later.... Seeing that rat made me lose my appetite."
Maggie: "Alrighty." *looks at the TV* "Okay, where in the hell did they shoot this picture? Antioch looks nothin' like that. The roads there ain't that reddish lookin. That's more like some partsa southeast Pensahtuckee, sorta westish of Pen City a little. The dirt round Antioch's a real dark brown. And it's hilly, but it ain't that hilly around that part, not especially that close to downtown."
Freya: *laughs* *air quotes* "Downtown."
Maggie: "Well, Antioch's decent sized. Big enough that they got 2 different grocery stores."
Freya: *laughs* "There's like 3 of those just within walking distance of this apartment complex."
Maggie: *pulls out her phone* "I gotta look n find out where they filmed this.........TPSA? Why din't they just go to Pinsahtuckee?"
Freya: *looks at her phone* *laughs* "Astrid just asked if you actually ate it, fur and all." *laughs some more*
Maggie: *laughs* "What's she doin tonight?"
Freya: "I think she's on a date..... or something...."
Maggie: "Huh." *eats a piece of sushi and takes a big gulp of White Claw*
Freya: *looking around* "I keep seeing rats in the corner of my eyes. Makes me feel paranoid. I don't know "
Maggie: "Oh, come on Freya. It was 1 single rat." *rolls her eyes* "I'll go and buy some rat traps tomorrow after I get offa classes and work." *eats another piece of sushi* "Might could just be that one though, maybe, I don't know. Might could be a freak chance and it just randomly got in the building somehow."
Freya: *looking at the TV* "Is it actually normal to not have running water or electricity over there like that?"
Maggie: *nods her head* "Yeah." *takes a sip from her White Claw*
Freya: "Like, how common is it?"
Maggie: *finishes her White Claw* "Mm, sorta depends on the area.... I mean, my folks had, err, have both, but the further away you live from one of them bigger towns, more likely it is y'ain't gonna be hooked up to the city water or electricity or whatever... But I mean, I knowed some people smack dab in the middle of Pen City who ain't got runnin' water or electricity. Not because they can't get it, but because they figured the well water's good as any processed city water and they also figured they don't need electricity for nothin."
Freya: "Huh, interesting...." *looks at a notification on her phone and takes a sip of White Claw*
Maggie: *leans back on the couch* "Good lord, I am drunk.... I didn't even hardly drink nothin..."

Nice

Meanwhile, in a city in some foreign nation.....*
*A young woman named Maggie originally from Springfield is pouring a shot of vodka in the kitchen in her apartment.*
Maggie: *quickly stands up and reaches for the nonexistent revolver on her hip* *looks down and realizes that she doesn't have one because guns are very hard to legally own in this country* "Oh." *quickly looks back up and sees Freya holding a paper delivery bag and freaking out*
Freya: "KILL IT!!!" *points to a rat that's running around*
Maggie: "Oh!!" *grabs the broom and quickly smacks it as it's running by her, knocking it out, but it's still moving around, so she smacks it again*
Hello!

Ablon the renegade

Hello

Nice that this region is still around

I appreciate that we've always found a way to stick around. Even if it's just an internet retirement home for most folks. :)

Hello all, I'm back! I think I joined this region first in like 2015-16 ish. I've had off-and-on activity, and my nation was most recently dead for 2-ish years. We'll see how long I stick with the game this time around - I basically just re-logged to see how my citizens were doing.
