The Emperor is pleased to see this return to peace and orders that the raiders are to step down their attacks on Ferunsi lands, but are encouraged to join them on their side in their own war, it is reported that the foe they face is a strong and fierce one and will be a great honor to fight.
Upon receiving the birds, Kavad instructs his army to attach a piece of sulphur bound with small pieces of cloth to each bird. At nightfall, Kavad has his soldiers to set the pieces aflame and release the birds. They returned to their nests within the city, which subsequently set the city ablaze. There was not a house that was not consumed, and it was impossible to extinguish the flames, because all the houses caught fire at once. As the people fled the burning city, Kavad ordered his soldiers to catch them, killing some of them and giving the others as slaves to his followers. He then proceeds to leave the burning city, retreating across a river so he does not get cut off by the 2 Fernusi armies.
This was a real tactic, by the way, used by Olga of Kiev in the 9th century, in Ukraine. Its the 11th century right now, so I should have the technology.
Fernusi reinforcements arrive to find the city burned to the ground. As the soldiers search the city, they find bodies of hundreds of people either cut down in their escape, or crushed under burning rubble. It is as if the devil himself unleashed his wrath upon the world.
A Korintheyan army has now arrived within the nation of Ferneus, this mostly consists of medium cavalry equipped to defeat virtually any enemy. With them are several hundred scouts and guides that are to give them information of their opponent. Due to their mounted and mobile nature Combined with the general effectiveness and engineering of the imperial troopers, crossing through the nation is not problem and they eventually managed to catch up to the Fernusi armies and cross the river quickly to continue the pursuit, albeit cautiously.
Force makeup:
32,000 raider forces
12,000 Imperial troopers
4,000 mounted conscripts
An Overview of The Kingdom of Toast
To say the Grand-Kingdom is like all the over kingdoms or Republics near it would be...a lie? It is populated by 2 different peoples. the Toasts, the Theodans (also called the Düdesch, descendants of Adduni people), and the Lyudi, interesting to note is that all of these mean “people” in the language used by each people. While the successor to the King is officially determined by the current King, this hasn’t happened since the “Great Division” about 250 years ago when the brother (also king of one of the 4 kingdoms in the Grand-Kingdom) of the selected heir revealed documents that determined him to be the legitimate heir, this lead to a civil war. This has been repeated during every succession since then. The Konungr dynasty which rules the 4 Archduchies and the Kingdom have ruled for as long as the Kingdom exists and have grounded their right to rule in the religion-like cult. A mystery, however, is how the cult-like following around the “Festival of Life” originated. During the “Festival” (which frequency changes depending on rank, once a year in cities but once a month for the King, Archdukes, dukes and other have frequencies in between), a local volunteer is cooked and eaten. Despite the name, the Kingdom of Toast has not yet fully developed feudalism but rather a mix of ancient society and an early form of feudalism. Something similar to slavery is also common in Toast
Thanks to the 3 Rivers flow through Toast, it has a flourishing economy on farming. At the southern border of the Grand-Kingdom, the Berali River (locally known as the Spri) flows, in the north the “short” Vogjart and “in the middle” the Monarhka-Fless flow. The Kingdom is “cut in two halves” by the Great-Mountains. Along the Monarhka-Fless, the monarch river, and near the Great-Mountains, lies the capital, Gostandz. North of the Monarhka-Fless, all the way to the Great mountains in the east and the border in further north is covered in the Dzoder-Wjeld, the Death Forest.
Toasts economy is primarily dominated by fishing and farming. Toastian (Kingdom not People) Alcohol is a popular export good although most that don’t live in the Kingdom ignore the cultural traditions it is consumed in. Transportation within the kingdom is mainly done by sailing along the Monarhka-Fless to a city along with it and then using roads. Mining plays only a minor role despite the Great-Mountains being a good place to dig for resources. The frequent civil wars, however, discourage mining settlements due to them being a big target during the wars.
The History of Toast as told at campfires
“At first the Land of Toast was only populated by the Toast and all lived in peace and happiness as envisioned by the lesser gods. Eventually, though they caught the attention of Kzornavor who became jealous of the beauty of human civilization and created the god Shimargerl to destroy it. From then on the Toast were repeatably forced to defend their home from almost all sides. From the North, West and South, foreign nomads tried to take the land for themself but the Toast triumphed every time.
Centuries later the Lyudi were forced to leave their home and sought refuge in Toast and following the teachings of Ravekast, the Toast and Lyudi lived peacefully. A few decades later the Land of Toast united under the Banner of the Konungr dynasty and continued their peaceful and prosperous life.
This peaceful and prosperous life wouldn’t last forever though because just a few centuries ago, the great division happened when Shimargerl corrupted the brother of the King and plunged the Land into continuous and repeated civil wars.
And now my children, the frequent civil wars have weakened the faith of our and if we change nothing the storm that frequently ravages Toast will become even worse.”
I know the History part is a bit short and "Introduction and basics" is unorganized but its the best I got now and I will probably change that sometimes
Changes in RP:
-Toast is a Monarchy
-The Retjeri es Befrogir still exist but are weaker and didn't take over toast
Kavad's force of around 20,000 light horsemen quickly retreats from Ferneus, burning all in their path. He marches parallel to one of the Fernusi armies, which he constantly assaults using hit and runs, slowly whittling down the men. Aware of a large force in the area, he leaves Ferneus entirely, returning to his steppe homeland.
With scouts and outriders reporting the retreat of the force, the Korintheyan force, move to take advantage of the hinderance that the scorched earth tactics are making on the Velelni force and begin a series of raider perfected- assaults and raids to slow them down even more, moreover, the Korintheyan force commander- Imperial-General of the Empire Traiseneau, splits his numerically superior forces in half, with one portion going under commander of Imperial-Commander Vornerst, moving to launch raids and harass the enemy force while Traiseneau moves his force directly in the path of Kavad's lighter force on to favorable ground and establishes a defensive emplacement and forts as well as using the engineering capabilities of his forces to dig anti-horse ditches and traps in strategic locations and utilize his force's versatility if need be and force an engagement where the Veleni units are forced to fight on foot.
With the Veleni out of the country and the Korintheyans helping prepare for their return, recruitment campaigns are started to inspire Fernusi citizens to join the army and defend their homes. A sense of patriotic fervor is instilled by the campaign, with citizens quickly signing up and Fernusi generals honing their skills with the help of foreign advisors. The Empress herself forms a personal guard of elite Mevoni soldiers and prepares to ride for the southeast border, hoping her presence will encourage her men in battle.
A new King?
Earlier this day former King Kert Hens es Konungr-Derovid (Kongunr is the dynasty, Devorid is the House. The Dynasty split into 4 houses after the great division) was found dead in his bed. The 70-year-old Monarch most likely died of old age. In the early afternoon his son, the controversial Prince Jaon Lerdwik II was officially declared his successor. Jaon has a very hedonistic personality, frequently throwing expensive Parties and rumoured to have many bastard children. This gives the deeply religious population rather mixed feelings about and its likely that one the other houses and his brothers will dispute the legality of his succession. Another civil war is likely and it is unknown what the future of the Kingdom will look like…

The Hal-iv people try to muster resistance, but the uncentralized state struggles to combat the growing threat. In the southern marks, villages burn to the ground. The Hal-iv are dismayed from the loss of Nul-an, and flee to nearby duchies. Many peasants run rampant about the land, resorting to pillaging themselves, taking the possessions of those who have fled northward.

With word of a weakening kingdom to the north, raiders begin to launch several small assaults on the nation.
With their opponent running now, the Imperial force establishes a permanent base in Ferneus while scouts, trackers, traders, and outriders report the force has moved northward towards Til-Gur, upon this news reaching the Emperor and his commanders as well as the raider warlords, offers are sent of assistance to the nation, in exchange- any prisoners taken in the war are to be brought to Korintheya to be paraded as war trophies. The Emperor has also offered to dispatch sovereign protectors to assist in the nation's defense.
