Who would have honestly thought you hear Biden utter the words "we have a Constitution" when some of his rivals proposed to confiscate "dangerous guns"? I'm quite amazed by this.

I do occasionally watch football but the only thing I watch regularly is the super bowl. I of course do not watch the meme sport known as soccer.

Forgot to post, thought I did but new poll! This week's topic is about age limits on candidates for office.

i think that there should be a retirement age for the supreme court as it is a life long appointment without elections (already undemocratic).

It made sense when the average lifespan was 65 as the justices may only serve 10-15 years, but now? No, not when we live to be 85-100+ (depending on your personal health) or when justices might have long hospital stays. How are they doing their job then?

But in regards to the poll, one 75-year-old might be more capable than another, just like any age group. There are people my age I wouldn't like to see in charge of one person, let alone given any real power, so it would be undemocratic to discriminate like that. However, we really need term limits on government positions because no one needs to serve tenure in the realm of decades. They cannot possibly still know what their respective constituents need if they never live in their respective districts.

True. Statutory rape is supposed to be based on the mental, emotional, and physical differences between a developing adult (preteen/teenager) and full adult, but lately I've come to realize that state laws are in fact a bit more arbitrary about them and are actually a bit disturbing on that front. However, that digresses from the topic, as do the other age limits for non-political topics (though they are interesting to discuss).

I had forgotten about the age limit for President. I believe it had something to do with maturity, but I honestly question it as a requirement now that I really think about it. I concede the point that it doesn't seem that different to set an age max, though putting that into law would probably require context (like we just did).

I'm curious to know if anyone from Zentari would like to join an anti-communist N-day faction hosted by Libertatem? We could use all the people we can get! I'll post a link later when its established.
