Hmm... Here's a theory that's twisted. Maybe doctors smoke a lot, and when smoking is taken away, they face symptoms of releasing drugs. Therefore, experienced oncologists need to have therapy and can't do their job correctly. So, less oncologists=more cancer deaths.
NS is weird, but that's part of what makes it realistic. People in real life are very weird.

That’s what I figured along the way.
