Did I sleep through the apocalypse again?

Palentinean novella fans become unusually flustered when thinking about Empress Jhessan Spaulding

Wouldn't anyone become unusually flustered when thinking about her?

Just saying...

People say chess victor Empress Jhessan Spaulding can kill you with mind-bullets.

😁

Judt bumped the Stranger's Bar thread back to the first page of the Festering Snakepit forum.

I never thought I'd ever utter the words I really miss Forgottenlords, and Comprendia. Yes they could be total @#$%@ in debates, but they were always up for a spot of RP in the Strangers Bar, or trying to clear DLE's old floors in the UN of whatever critters were infecting the place.

These players today are too interested in their legislation which reads like bad grad school dissertations, and trying to impress each other with their cleverness and intellegence. Then if you get involved in the debates in any RP fashion, many think you're personally attacking them instead of being the ass that you spent years developing as your character.

My personal theory is they were either never breast fed as an infant, or they were weened on a kosher dill pickle!

Tell a young player more about these Forgottenlords and this Comprendia you speak of.

but he was a nice guy.

Compadria was a certified fluffy, but we forever miss the blessings of his otters.

Even I'm not still mad at FL. Sure, he was annoying, but he was one of us. (Although I don't recall him doing a lot of RP.)

I liked Compadria.

Welcome to AO, gruen.

Forgottenlord didn't do much RP, but when VL and I decided to liberate the Floors the used to belong to Demon Lord Enigma from whatever critters infected the place, FL roleplayed the critters to give VL's soldiers and my Marines a harder time. It was fun.

Welcome baack Gruen. Murray's still locked in a wooden chest or he'd have welcomed you back himself.

Well young padwan, both were of the left/fluffy side of the spectrum. Of the two Comprendia could disagree with you without being disagreeable in debates. His ambassador, Leonard Ottersby, tried to keep things friendly. He was known for the use of the greetings or salutations of,
"May the Blessing of the otters be with you!"

Forgottenlord could be a little more touchy in debates, be a little more disagreeable, and be more annoying, yet afterwards he didn't really hold grudges against those who opposed him. Sometimes I felt he actually secretly respected those who argued with him...not that he'd ever say so. Gruen, Knoot, and Kenny had more run ins with him than I did. He was a nice guy and did mean well though.

I am not sure whether to be impressed or scared by his dedication to trolling.

I think they formed a gang and colonized the Vastian Memorial Pool outside the WA headquarters and extort fish from the poor unfortunates who get defenestrated into the pool.😁

At least you could follow FL's argument or what be was proposing. There was one nation Love and Estreel( aka L&E) that made my head hurt when he or she got involved in the debates, or drafted a proposal. They would have loved it if graphs, charts, and pictures could have been allowed in proposals. They had a gift of turning a simple concept into a confused and mucked up mess. They did keep a sense of humor, and it was they they coined the phrase
"Dolphins are cute, cuddly and beloved by children everywhere."
In their resolution The Dolphin Protection Act. That resolution in turn was responcible for my nation inducting Dolphins into military service, thus creating the Palentine Naval Dolphin, the foul mouthed scourge of the Southern Seas.

Some day we'll have to to tell you about the AO's favorite Grumpy Old Uncle, Ausserland.

Well I, for one, loved Auss. His irrepressible ambassador practically assured the safety of my capital's embassy row, singularly, with her sawed-off shotgun. He was also a steadfast ally in the UN's push to outlaw terrorism. Although I probably should have hated him, too, just a little; he was always slipping jokes about how dumb and silly I am in his RP posts. I'm not still mad at him, however. LAE may have been an acquired taste, but I'd like it noted for the record that I am the one who coined the phrase "scourge of the Southern Seas." ........... or, perhaps I wasn't. It was over 15 years ago, Kenny, just let it go!

I liked Auss's system of signing his posts. If it was signed by his ambassador, it was just a regular piece of "pencil whipping". But if it was signed by his foreign minister, you knew he was pissed...

...and if it was signed "By order of His Royal Highness, Prince Leonhard," he was getting ready to knock some heads together.

Childhood friends of Empress Jhessan Spaulding are living it large abroad at the taxpayers' expense
Actually, apart from a few political allies and nations, the Empress deems important, Empress Jhessan allows Lord Julius to pick whoever he wants to be ambassadors to other nations. For the most part, Lord Julius views the Ambassador Corps as a way to foist unloveable and pestersome relatives, political undesirables, or potential political scandals on other nations to deal with. Kinda a diplomatic version of the Remittence Man or Gentleman Ranker.😁

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!(as Ric Flair would say)
First place in the AO for most Advanced Defense Forces in the AO!
<does Ric Flair Strut while "WOOOOOO" ing some more>😁

New legislators take a week-long class entitled "Keeping Your Job: How to Avoid Offending Empress Jhessan Spaulding"😁
