But what does it represent?
1: No God-Modding
To make the RP fun for everyone, you have to make sure that you are not God-Modding. People will enjoy it more if you contribute fairly. Always remember that RP is two people making a story together, and absolutely not a one-upping contest.
Some examples of God-Modding:
Nation 1: My 1,000 strong tank force with impeccable armor drives across the ridge and completely crushes your tank battalions without any resistance!
Nation 2: Um, how did you do that? I have nearly twice the manpower and equipment as you in this battle...
Nation 1: My tanks have impeccable armor and your tanks and men stood no chance!
Examples of what to do:
Nation 1: My tank force regroups at the other side of the ridge and attempts to take a defensive position against the approaching forces.
Nation 2: My tank forces realize that you aren't making an attempt over the ridge, and perform a pincer attack against you, attempting to get at your back and stop your escape.
Nation 1: My tank forces make a break for it, and escape in the small window we have! Our tanks have been heavily damaged and many destroyed, but we live to fight another day.
2: No Meta-gaming.
If someone talks about his character, or plan, or whatever, OOC, you cannot bring it into rp unless he/she mentions it themselves. Also, don't say you know everything that happens everywhere. A meeting RP isn't known to the rest of the world.
Examples of Meta-Gaming:
Nation 1: My nation receives intel that your nation is planning an invasion. We decide to get the head start and declare war on you instead!
Nation 2: Um, that was in a secret rp with another nation... You shouldn't know about that.
Nation 1: We found out with our top-notch spy network. :)
Examples of what to do:
Nation 1: (OOC) am I able to know about this info in any way?
Nation 2: (OOC) No, it's classified between me and this other nation. Sorry :)
Nation 1: (OOC) Ok, good to know.
3: Don't control other people's characters and stuff.
This one's easy. Just don't make another persons characters do any actions. At all. Ever. Of course you can take actions against another person character, but don't their actions for them.
Examples of what not to do:
Nation 1: My leader greets you and you smile and shake my hand and take me to your palace.
Nation 2: (OOC) Actually I was wanting to talk before we went to the palace.
Nation 1: (OOC) No it's fine, just go along with the rp!
Examples of what to do:
Nation 1: My leader greets you and shakes your hand. He smiles and talks, "Should we go to your palace?"
Nation 2: My leader smiles too, and speaks. "No, perhaps in a bit. I was hoping to talk here before heading to the palace."
Nation 1: "Alright, what is you wish to talk about?"
Probably gonna be updated (adding more in) later if time allows. But, yeah you should look into our RMB's history to see some great quality rps and maybe just get those creative juices flowing
Whatever rps you guys want. We have one main universe for our "real nations" rp, but at the moment there hasn't been a lot of activity. So, you guys create whatever universe you want and rp it.
Also, for rps, you want to provide context for the story arc you're setting up. Like, why did your economy collapse? What is your government/leader doing about this economic crisis in addition to trade negotiations? And how the general public of your nation is reacting to this event?
