The sanada clan wrote:A battle of Ice and Fire

The Sanadan soldiers were busy constructing walls around the island off the mainland of Verusa. Over a year had passed since the Sanadans upped and left to wage war in the unknown lands to the East. As they had left, pioneers and travelers settled in old sanadan land. Left one of their larger islands, the sanadans prepared defensive measures for the future.

"Make sure to pick up those ammo crates correctly! Last time you threw out your back!" Major Nana shouted. "Yes boss!" The soldiers clad in a dark uniform and balaclava shouted. They hurried to pick out crates from the military trucks. The woman clad in a dark blue military dress shirt and skirt sighed. Her Auburn brown hair flowed in the chilly winter wind.

Beside her, the Bluenette stared at Galliana castle. An old castle from the 12th century that was modernized into a forward operation base for a few mechanized divisions. The stone castle was surrounded by stone walls and electric fencing. It was situated on top of a mountain and held hangers for tanks, military jeeps and a few planes. She smiled, feeling the nostalgia of home.

"Amazing isnt it. I'm sure glad we were able to acquire one of our old bases. This one was used for staging battles on Verusas homelands." Nana recalled, smiling with lala. The pale skinned bluenette held her umbrella over her shoulder and felt the air push her long blue hair. She was the only one wearing a white military outfit and skirt. Her 9mm handgun strapped to her tattooed thigh.

"Our next goal is to grow back to our previous strength" the 35 year old Lala said.

"We're weaker than we were before but we will grow again. Let us rebuild and claim back our homeland one day" she said. As she planned, a soldier ran up with a phone.

"Boss, you got a call, from some old guy" the soldier said. He gave the phone to lala and she held it to her ear. As she did, a very loud voice almost deafened her.

“Hey Lala! Tis be your good ol’ comrade Solordiar speaking. Just wish to tell thee that thou art wrong, summer is better than winter, and if thou art too stubborn to believe, I challenge thee to a duel… When thou art ready to accept my challenge, meet me at the old colosseum o’ Liftokia city. Refreshments shall be provided…”

"Dear snow!" She yelled from the loud, irritating voice. Lala cringed from the pain in her ear and stares at the phone.

"What is the knight saying?" Lala asked. Nana raised her eyebrow. "He said he wants another duel. I thought you could understand how their people talked" nana asked. Lala shook her head.

"Lala always nodded. Lala just assumed he always talked about being a knight and going to brothels and taverns." She shrugged. Nana rolled her eyes.

"So what's the record now?" Nana asked. Lala counted on her pale, porcelain like fingers. "1 win for lala and 3 wins for the knight." Lala said.

"Hmm well maybe this can be your 2 to 3 this time" nana said. Lala shrugged and twirled her umbrella. It was heavy and carried 30 caliber rounds inside with a hidden 30 round magazine.

"Lala will accept your challenge knight. Keep in mind, this season is lalas element. You better bring a sweater" she said. Lala closed the phone and whistled. Out of the woods, a very large black wolf beast hopped out. Heilang was his name.

"Get lala her weapons. It's time to fight"

As Solordiar Liftoke waited for the snow lady’s arrival, he paused from his drinking and kept his eyes vigilant for cold winds and strange clouds in the heavens; he checked both his phone & his servants frequently for reports of anything unnatural in his imperias that may hint to Lala. At last, at some time in the afternoon, the hawk-eyed warlord stumbled upon a report from Saideria’s northern border patrol. Some guards had caught sightings of ‘mother winter herself, riding on top of a large raven-black warg’.

The bluenette nears, and she rides Heilang… Solordiar chuckles as he visualizes the public’s probable reaction to Heilang when he storms past Liftokia city’s gates and through its streets, disrupting people’s daily lives & businesses. That prediction became frightening as he remembered, this is soon to become reality. And what may happen when the citizens see the large beast enter their city? Someone could get hurt, many will get traumatised by a glimpse of Heilang. People will begin questioning their own safety in this imperias. And then… they’ll start to question me.

Solordiar shivered. He didn’t like to upset his own citizens, nor did he like pesky rebellions, and what will soon happen has the potential of starting a nation-wide revolution. He hadn’t seen a revolt in the nation since… He couldn’t remember. He decided that the best option was to text Lala his concerns. He picked up his phone.

“Be sure to avoid having Heilang seen by public.”
- Solordiar Liftoke

Having sent that message, he relaxed. He was about to take another sip of mead but decided against it. Not until Lala’s hither… Solordiar Liftoke got a sudden call. It was from his wife. He answered it.

“Galitonas-“

“Hello hon…” Kristiar said, yawning, “Just wish to let ya know that… I’m going to be meeting you at… today. I’ll be bringing Ignatius with me, so ya know.”

“That’s great… Kristiar, is the air at Lazon getting any… cooler?” Solordiar asked. He received a sigh from Kristiar.

“Well yea I guess so. Or it had been, a few minutes ago. Sorry for not having watched your due-“

“Nay fear my dear…” Solordiar interrupted, “Hades, the duel hasn’t even started yet. Maybe you still hast time to-”

“Too busy hon, sorry… You’re recording it are you not?” She asked, supposedly curious. “Aye” Solordiar answered.

“Cool… I can’t wait to see you with our Iggy my Sol. Anyways, I gotta go.”

“Alright my dear, carry on.” Solordiar ended the call. He sighed. Lala has passed Lazon, so it seems… Not long before she was at the Querenias district. By now she must be at Litonia-

A flash of Lightning was glimpsed by the edge of his eyes. Solordiar heard nearby thunder, and felt a cool breeze fall upon his skin. Frost was tasted on his lip. His nose felt runny. The air he breathed in was cold, and what he exhaled was steam. I sense her presence. Lala is close. Grey stormy clouds blocked out half the sky. Spit and snowflakes came about. The Bifröst landed on earth. Rain began to pour.

Solordiar turned to the protectors, his eyes set on one protector in question. The one in the white cloak, crowned with a gold helm bearing many gems. Him whom holds a diamond sceptre. The protector of storms & skies.

“Karlas! Is this of your doing?” Solordiar asked. Solordiar just had to check. The protector shook his head, “No! These storms art not of mine, brother of the order! But of another whom the sky god Isterios, bearer of the four winds, seems to favour. You have a challenge ahead of you, Solordiar.”

Aye. But may the combined will of the sun god Loratas, and of Hecrassus god of fire & forge, be tougher than that of Isterios. And so, might Him the God o’ creation himself hopefully choose my victory over Lala’s…

Solordiar resumed to his default posture, staring towards the sky. He smiled.

“May the best season win!”
