Are highly intelligent people less happy than individuals with average intelligence?

I'm what people of my age call a highly intelligent person, and I'm less happy, but only because I can see certain things clearer than most. I also have too much time to think, so I think deeper into topics.

That said, it should depend on the person. If you are intelligent and don't want to think about it, then said person should be normal. But if you do think about things as much as I do, it can lead into some very disheartening things.
