This is not true. There used to be a law that required chocolate to contain cocoa liquor, which gave chocolate its color, but that law has been repealed. Also, white chocolate contains cocoa butter, but no cocoa solids. So while controversial, white chocolate is technically, and legally, true chocolate.

It didn't just collapse; it was hit by a container ship. I'll post a link in the #current-events channel on Discord.

Latest speculation is a cyber attack by hackers. Nothing concrete yet.

That's some pretty wild speculation; the article I read said the ship lost power according to the crew. A hack would require that either the controls for their power system be accessible remotely and that someone deliberately shut it down at precisely the right moment, or to plant code that would shut systems down at a certain time and then get astonishingly "lucky" that it triggered at that precise location and heading.

i mean why would someone do something like that its crazy

if your talking about the crew of the ship that crashed into the Baltimore bridge. uh they said prior to crashing that they lost control of the ship from what I heard.
why does 90% of the incidents in the modern world are involving cargo ships + something?

Democratic country of the west pacific wrote:i mean why would someone do something like that its crazy

While everything is speculative at this point and we don't know the cause of the accident, I disagree that an attack, if that's what it turns out to be, isn't so crazy as you claim. First of all, most terror attacks are designed to inflict the most amount of fear for the bang. Blowing up a car in a crowd is one way, but taking out an entire bridge makes a much more long lasting statement. Baltimore has a huge harbor and I don't know yet if the bridge collapse will affect the amount of shipping that the ports can handle going forward or not, but that's certainly another possible motive behind an attack IF it turns out to have been one.

They lost control due to a loss of propulsion is the latest I've read. The question is whether or not the loss of propulsion was an accident or something deliberate.

could it have been deliberate? i mean.. i for one think it might have been deliberate because it was a historical monument after all

Just like tomatoes. Those things terrify me.

Happens to everyone, and it's understandable when there's big news. The reason we clamp down on it is that it can quickly get out of hand and then becomes very difficult to enforce. So please just keep it in mind in the future, and if you find you've double posted by accident then you can always use the Delete and Edit features to clean up before anyone finds out :)

The Coast Guard has been given priority to search the river for six road crew who may have been on the bridge when it fell, but they are assumed dead. Once they're done the investigation into what happened will begin in earnest; they don't want ships in the area interfering with the search for bodies. In the meantime they're looking at the ship's nav logs and stuff like that to get some preliminary information. Two people were rescued from the river last night and I believe one has already been released from the hospital.

Biden has stated that the Federal government should pay the cost to replace the bridge out of money already earmarked for transportation & infrastructure.
