I will tell you why. And I will tell Abydos.

It's straightforward. And, unfortunately, I have been avoiding these thoughts, but since I have outright declared the Roleplay to have failed, I'll tell you.

It failed simply because of me. Not only me, of course. (Not going to throw out names) But it failed largely because of my laziness, my sheer un-commitment to the act. It's not an easy thing to manage an extensive artificial world. And because of this, I am hereby resigning as Chief Cartographer. It's simple, for me, a waste of time to think of, when I know, I can't restart it.

I can't do anything about it. But I invite-- nay, encourage people to try and restart the Roleplay. However, as my predecessor Chief Cartographer, which I have never known, left his position, I am too. Mainly because of this extraordinary task that requires a lot of time. And even by the early times, where Roleplay was going on, It was clear this task would take more time to please a certain amount of people, rather than a demographic that would introduce themselves to Roleplay and make my time worthwhile.

I am willing to appoint anyone who is up for it.

Not gonna go quite a well as you hope, I can assure you of that.

I'm not a fan of making this place a raiding region. I have seen many places fall apart due to that years ago and don't wish to see that happen again. I don't mind fighting if we're attacked but just going out and attacking seems wrong.

Oh, what are you working on with the forum? Is it the roleplay side of things? I hope so as I would love to get back into that. It was fun for what little use I was able to get out of it before it seemed to die.

I would like to propose the following piece of legislation for discussion only at this time.

Referenda Bill

WE SHALL put to the citizens of Abyods a question in the form of an official poll “what future do you want for Abyods”

WE SHALL make one option “foreign Policy focus” which if voted for will lead to a second vote on what type of foreign policy that will be

WE SHALL make the other option “domestic focused” which will end discussions about Abyods branching out into further foreign policy adventures

WE SHALL in the event of a foreign policy victory put to the citizens of Abyods a question of what foreign policy they would like to see

WE SHALL make one option “An Empire for Abyods” in which we will focus on expanding the borders of Abydos

WE SHALL make the other option “reactionary focused” in which Abydos will be fully prepared to intervene in any foreign development related to Abydos

WE SHALL NOT allow for a second vote upon this as the first vote will decide the future of Abydos

I believe this is the best way to solve the current issue about what Abydos should do an enshrining this in law will end the arguments...hopefully

The questions can be changed if needed incase people don’t like the wording but I think the idea of getting the bill cemented in law to give the people the say is probably the best way to get this all sorted

Well, as the Elder Statesman has not acquiesced to my requested, I will take it upon myself to call for an official conclave vote of my proposed Military Conscription Bill.

I cast my vote in favor of the bill.

It would make sense for the scribes themselves being the one to call it to a vote since they are the ones voting

It means the region, while it will have embassies and communication with the outside and such, that will be the extent of its foreign policy and defense. Therefore, the focus will be on regional government, on role play, and on the various other guilds within Abydos. And defense will be restricted to regional security alone and to other activities which the government shall deem essential to regional security.

I thought I would wait until the last to vote, but I have decided not to vote in this poll nor the next poll.
