Gassasinia signs trade agreements
Over the last week, Gassasinian Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rashid has signed trade agreements with New Sebronia and Gorabo - respectively the Gassasinian-New Sebronian Trade Agreement and the Gassasinian-Gorabonese Trade Agreement. In particular, the Gassasinian-New Sebronian Trade Agreement is intended to drop tariffs for the import of vehicles, wind turbines, aircraft, alcohol, books and machinery, while also dropping tariffs on the New Sebronian side for Gassasinian exports of metals, textiles, fruit and vegetables and plastics.
Expected to be more impactful however, is the Gassasinian-Gorabonese Trade Agreement, which drops tariffs for Gassasinian exports of plastics and refined metals, while dropping Gassasinian tariffs for Gorabonese imports natural gas and petrol - two vital resources to Gassasinia's economy. Notably however, is the agreement for visa-free Travel which is hoped will encourage travel and cultural interchange between the two nations, as a whole acting as a stepping stone for relations between the two culturally-similar Arab nations.
Princess Miya of Zenshin to study in Gassasinia
The Zenshin Royal Family's press office announced earlier that they would be sending 16 year old Princess Miya to study an undergraduate degree in physics and maths at the Royal University of Jabiyah. It is expected that the Princess will be provided some sort of security by the National Police's Diplomatic Protection Department, likely a plain-clothed armed bodyguard.
The Royal University of Jabiyah is one of the most prestigious universities in the region, where many prestigious computer scientists, physicists and mathematicians have studied. The Royal University of Jabiyah has confirmed that Princess Miya will be staying and studying within the university. The sun was descending, a gently falling orb hovering above the mountains.
Not a cloud in the sky.
It was quiet.
A lingering ache pulsed up Lila's back as she blinked tiredly out the side of the open truck bed.
"Remind me not to ride in open trucks again, will you?"
Tim let out a playful scoff.
"Yeah, like my back doesn't hurt as much as yours."
She sighed defeatedly. Part of her missed that comfy cot she had back at High Rock.
At least things are looking up now.
"--Nothing's as cramped as a tank."
She looked up for the source of the voice.
There was a pair of men at the front of the truck bed. One, a big burly man torn across with scars, the other, a scrawny amputee missing their left arm.
"Tank crew? Yeah, I bet."
She shifted her weight on the seat to get the blood flowing again as the amputee gazed down at the stub of his arm, gingerly rubbing the wrapping around it.
An iron brick settled in her gut as she watched him, glancing down at her left arm-- the one he didn't have.
"Hey, uh... how'd you lose the arm? I mean... if you don't mind..."
The most painful smile she'd ever seen came back to meet her.
"--Well, at least someone cares."
He sat up as the truck crested a hill, the distant silhouette of Mediapolis in the haze.
Ever so quietly, he said, "Avalon."
Avalon... wait a minute...
She squinted at him, perplexed.
"I... I thought that..."
"--They wiped us out? Every single one of us? That's the report you read, isn't it?"
She felt her blood go cold.
"No, no, I didn't mean..."
She gazed down at the metal slats that made up the truck bed.
"Well... yeah. That's what the report said..."
The man stared at her for a moment and then tilted his head, rather apologetically at that.
"Sorry. Not a soft subject... I'd rather not talk about it, but..."
Her lip twitched. "I got all day if you wanna talk. I'll listen."
The hardened expression softened.
"Alright. I'll make it quick-- I'm getting off once we're in the city."
She nodded as he kicked back in his seat.
"The Blue Coats... they pushed us up the mountain slope, funneled us into the pass as we tried to protect the civilians. We... we were outnumbered. Five, maybe ten to one."
He rubbed his arm again.
"When the last of the refugees crossed the border, we..."
He stuttered as he looked down.
"W-We were all that was left."
She didn't know whether to spur him on or console him the best she could.
She opened her mouth, but he was quicker.
"--Don't say sorry. Not yet, anyway..."
He pressed a shaking sigh out of his lung as he wiped his eyes.
"Our tank was the one with the two red stripes on it."
"Oh... by Azura, that was you?"
"Mhm. When we finally met our end, the driver... and the commander... they died. Horribly, from what Walter told me."
He nudged the big man next to him. Everything about him said he was the loader.
"--And that hit blew my arm off. Wouldn't have made it out if it wasn't for Walter. Guy risked his *ss for me, and we're still around."
The big man looked across the truck bed at her silently as she pushed a lock of hair out of her eyes.
Tim nudged her side with a quiet whisper.
"You wanna tell him?"
"What?"
"Who we are."
She almost recoiled away from him.
"How do you think they're gonna take it?"
"I dunno..."
Only one way to find out, I guess.
"So... Red 2."
The amputee's small smile returned. "Yeah, that's us."
"You wouldn't know who we are, would you?"
"No, not really."
"Well, we're..."
She swallowed.
"--We're Novak."

"You're joking."
Tim shook his head from next to her.
"I wish we were, but we had... a falling out."
"So... I should be grateful you're here or, maybe, just slightly tempted to kill both of you for all the damage you've done to this country."
Lila tilted her head to avoid the murderous glare coming back at her.
"I-I mean... I'd prefer the latter, but..."
Walter suddenly interjected.
"Chill out, Lucien..." he glanced between the two of them. "Two enemy ace pilots, huh. I remember you both from Icolas."
"You remember that??"
"Of course. I'd have every cause to hate you, but..."
He twisted his lip.
"I don't... at least, I shouldn't. As a matter of fact, I'm... glad you two are here. You two are fighting for the good of the country now, and if anything, it's talent we can count on later."
Tim had been silent this whole time, and then he spoke up.
"Trying to make things right. We might have done bad sh*t, but the least we want to do is end this thing. Just like the rest of you."
Walter's expression softened.
"Good to hear that. Where are you guys gonna go from here?"
Lila shrugged.
"I dunno, man. Ionad first, I bet. I think we're gonna be beating up the Coalition after what they've done to us. To everyone."
"Heh, I was hoping you'd be around to help us with the Blue Coats."
"We might, but I think they're gonna send us out over Coalition turf. More experience with them, you feel me?"
"Yeah, I got'chu."
The truck rumbled off the highway. The driver's voice called out.
"We'll be there soon, guys. Remember, stop's gonna be thirty minutes tops, and your *sses had better be back in here by then."
"A'ight, no sweat."
The two tank crewmen watched the pair of pilots-- their former enemies.
Walter produced a piece of paper from his jacket. An envelope.
"Hey... uh, what was your name?"
It was directed at Lila.
"Oh, the name's Lila."
"Lila, can you do me a favor?"
She squinted at the envelope.
"Maybe. What are we talkin'?"
"If you come across Derek Salinti... you know him, I hope?"
"Derek? The... president, if you wanna call him that? Yeah, I knew him. We go back a few years."
Walter's nod was hopeful.
"Good. If you see him..."
He extended the envelope to her.
"Please give this to him. It's the last letter from his brother. before... before he died. He was our driver."
"That was... that was Aidan? I... alright..."
To hear that name, see that face again... it hurt her to think about it.
How he'd reached Zadah's embrace.
She took the cream-colored envelope. The words of a dead man were in her hands, now.
Walter folded his jacket back down.
"--I think he'll find some measure of closure, comfort, with that."
She nodded with a touch of sadness.
"He will. I know the guy. I wonder if he already knows about it--"
"He does."
Even Tim grimaced from his corner. That had to sting.
"--Sh*t, man. That's awful..."
"You heard what he did in Directus, right?"

The truck pulled off in the middle of downtown, in an open parking-lot-turned-humanitarian-camp. The buildings were still standing. Civilians were bustling about, children playing.

Walter pulled Lucien up, placing his beefy hand across Lila's shoulder as he gave her one last nod.

The election is held on the last Friday of the Gregorian month of September, as per tradition. Advertising is referred to as any promotion of a candidate or politician outside of rallies or other speeches, such as billboards or Internet advertisements.
Generally, speeches and rallies from prospective MP candidates (as chosen by the political parties) are done beforehand within the constituencies.
A town hall meeting will be held on the next Friday and Sunday, as per tradition, in all of the 200 Goraboese constituencies, where residents ask candidates questions regarding a manner of pressing political issues.
Voting is to occur on Friday the 25th during the weekend.

Operation Pancake
Today morning the Ateenian Royal Defense Force has conducted yet another SLBM and Nuclear test.
The bomb was detonated 100km West of the Ateenian islands and had a yield of 910 kilotonns.
The missile, reached the speed of Mach 7 and hit the targeted target boat with 2m accuracy, missing the boat by 2 meters.
This marks the 3rd succesful test of the Chaos 1 missile and the Ateenian nuclear program.
TONNES TIMES - Twin Cities sees airport expansion
Twin Cities International Airport will be closing down for the next month in order to improve its current terminals as well as add one new terminal and one new runway. This is a much needed expansion for the increase of direct non-stop foreign flights mostly from other members of the Paisi Union.
While construction is going underway, the nearest airport - Cartwright National Airport will take in most domestic flights into the Twin Cities metropolitan area. As it is too small to handle international or large flights, Layfet City International, Brettsville National, and Epinay International will handle the larger flights with a new direct transit bus line to the twin cities.
Before the shutdown starts, the Twin Cities Regional Department of Transportation (TCDOT) and the Twin Cities Metropolitan Transportation Authority (TCMTA) will work with the government to have non-stop direct travel through the rail and bus services into the Twin Cities up and running.
Torrential Rains causel Landslides in rural Valcouria
BAINBRIDGE - Landslides triggered by torrential rainstorms swept through two villages in rural Valcouria on Saturday, killing at least 12 people, a government official said.
Ten people were killed and 21 are missing after a massive landslide swept away homes and people in Branton, 100 km (62 miles) west of Bainbridge near the border between Faircrest and Westcliff, Imperial government official Malcolm Wait said.
Two others died in a landslide in Bartut, Delmount in the northwest.
Both landslides struck the villages before dawn and people could not escape to safety, rescuers said.
“Rescuers are looking for those who are missing,” Wait told reporters.

The healthcare industry doesn't have enough money to start developing into universal healthcare, which is what Fakado wants. Princess Punyaru Arisu starts basic school
Arisu starts basic school 5 kilometres from the palace. She is expected to attend until she turns 11 or 12 and starts tech school. The Imperial Agency says security is low key due to the safe nature of Punyaru and to the respect and little power the imperial family holds. Curfew introduced
Under Pervin's Child Protection Act (no. 80/2020 Art. 92), children aged 12 and under may not be outdoors after 20:00 (8:00 p.m.) unless accompanied by an adult. Children aged 13 to 16 may not be outdoors after 22:00 (10:00 p.m.), unless on their way home from a recognised event organised by a school, sports organisation or youth club. During the period 1 May to 1 September, children may be outdoors for two hours longer.
Children and teenagers that break curfew are taken to the local police station and police officers inform their parents to get them. The age limits stated here shall be based upon year of birth, not date of birth. If a parent cannot be reached, the child or teenager is taken to a shelter.
Pre-voting phase of Dysaphoran election begins
In this phase of the election, parties running for seats are given the opportunity to inform and advertise their campaign. The Dysaphoran parliament will be split into 5 sections, one for each major city-state on the peninsula.
The Democrats are deeply politically entrenched in the capital Arbantium and Galtusca (Northern Dysaphora) while they compete with the Progressive party for control of Credor (central mountainous Dysaphora).
Palm cove and Southern Dysaphora are in the hands of the Liberty party, although vigorous Progressive campaigning is scheduled to take place there.
Spatrinth and Eastern Dysaphora almost unanimously support PDAP, as many communities ethnically identify with border nation Shialang, a Totalitarian régime that corresponds with PDAP’s policies.

KW7 - The Latest News from Trinity's Nuclear Facility!
A few hours ago, an incident of unknown type has been reported at the Beusfeld Nuclear Facility of the Trinity Corporation. Our field reporter has tried to have an interview with the local Supervisor of the military HAZMAT teams called in but has been refused multiple times. Rumors of a possible facility-wide nuclear meltdown have been spreading but not confirmed. We will await more information from the Trinity Corporation and the Federal Nuclear Commission.
