War has never been popular in País-Sukoku. Even from late last year, when it was announced that drone strikes would be launched from bases in Kahilo against peyote fields operated by the TM and Biggonian Mafia, protests erupted against these actions from both figures on the left and right. Whilst diplomatic conservatives argued it would end the long-running neutrality of País-Sukoku and represent a drastic shift in foreign policy, leftists claimed it was unfair to wage war against simple Dolplandian farmers in such a heartless fashion. Finally, figures on the right were concerned about both the tax hikes that would result from these bombings, as well as issues surrounding libertarianism and the free import of drugs. However, most of this backlash was small and contained. Until now.
With the declaration that up to 5,000 soldiers will be deployed to protect Kahilo over the following weeks and months, protests have sprung up around the country. Most of these have centerd around the political centres of New Venapli and Wanmachi- being both politically significant and strongholds of the old Liberals means that they are ripe areas for protests. Now, the biggest protest yet has been held in New Venapli, with over 500,000 protestors attending; as they held banners demanding the deployment of troops on foreign soil ends immediately. Once again, this was a cross-ideology endeavour, with leftist pacifists from the Green Party joining hands with small government libertarians from the 1915 Party. Ultimately though, this protest has been dismissed like the others as PM Gabriel Akemi and Foreign Secretary Kubota Akihiro reaffirmed his commitment to protecting Kahilo's independence and stopping drug shipments from the Dolplandian mainland.
Union of Dolplandia - Part III
The war on the islands presented a rare opportunity to take over more islands from the junta. The junta had a few bases on a few of the islands in the Bay of Pōkōha. SUD needed to take over the islands as soon as possible, so she could use the weapons they had. The takeover of the NCC base was a successful one. It was great for the union as the base had tons of weapons and war machinery. It was glorious.
The PRM and PLA would arrive with even more goodies to take the mainland over. The DPTC was still a scary force to fight. Many countries were helping them and it was going to be hard to get around them. SUD could make headlines by finding Kīto and Kupatē, therefore getting respect from the international community. Constantine talked it over with other high powered members and her husband. They like the idea and would plan out how they were gonna find the two supposed kings. It would hopefully lead them to success in among the countries that help the DPTC. SUD looked down south at the territory of the kingdom. They had a few followers near the territory in the different towns in Saiwho*. The plan was to use those people to go in the territory and search for Kīto. They would have to search for his brother some other time.
Constantine had to be quick. The quicker SUD was in finding the disgraced king, the faster she could get recognition from countries like Tayichi and Pantsville. Lessen the chance of invasion and maybe become a free-standing state like Domlandia. It would be a success to get to rule over a small portion of Dolplandia.
Orleaux Defense Marshal Speaks Out!
Today, Marshal of the ODF Jean de Preau released a statement condemning the current emergency powers given to Orleauxan contractors.
In the statement he had stated, "nowhere in the Constitution does it suggest emergency powers given to any people allowing them to have free reign; let alone non-members of the Parliament and aristocrats. In fact, the opposite is stated as it says that under no circumstances liberties shall be removed in return for security. I condemn these actions and ask of my Orleauxan brothers and sisters to protest these actions. The ODF stands with Orleauxan citizens; not aristocrats!"
MARSHAL DE PREAU ALLEGED KILLED IN PLANE CRASH
At 12:00 PM today, Marshal de Preau of the ODF was allegedly killed in a plane crash. The Orleauxan government says this was likely due to a mechanical failure and search parties, led by ODD and ForteGuard contractors, have stated no survivors were found.
The government's claims though are already under fire as eyewitnesses claim that the plane was hit by two missiles which shot the plane down. Witnesses also claim that a large area is under lockdown and there are active reports of gunfire; however, members of the search party and government officials claim these are baseless.
Terrorist Attack at Bisea
At 5:00 AM this morning, a violent extremist group organized a bombing on one of the buildings nestled in down-town Bisea. 167 were injured and 19 people lost their lives that day. the Wayshyan Moodletz CTU has been active in searching for these terrorists. 2 bodies of suicide bombers were recovered from the scene. The cause of fire was confirmed from an explosion on the lower levels, quickly spreading to the upper floors using the stairwell. The government released a statement, promising to put these criminals into justice
MARSHAL DE PREAU ALIVE AND WELL
WITH the Orleauxan government claiming Marshal de Preau's body was found in the wreckage, the Marshal has recently uploaded a video on social media. This video claims that he is alive and well, and that the plane was a decoy as he feared for his life as he was told the government may attempt to assassinate him.
The Marshal claims in this video that the plane crash is proof of this and even included audio from the plane where the pilots are seemingly frantically trying to avoid missile locks on the plane.
The government quickly released a statement claiming the video is a fake and so is the audio; however, multiple photos of the Marshal in public state otherwise. This has led to public outage against the government.
