I'd imagine they'd still be in recovery though, or somewhat sullen from the first civil war. But I guess since it ended in less than a year (Which is still so incredibly weird, Cormoe really didn't want to handicap himself, I get that, but at least be willing to take an L every now and then my guy), it was non-destructive enough that the Confederate Veterans, the Klan, and the UDC were able to hide and build up?
