Thank you for your time.

This opens up new opportunities. Canada could buy Oregon and the state of Washington, and the citizens of those states would probably cheer. Nigeria might put in a bid for Mississippi and Alabama. But maybe Saudi Arabia already owns everything anyway.

The Americans I know are all of the intelligent, creative variety. They won't let that happen again.

Sorry, the US point of view does not prevail by right. I don't care about the American domestic considerations you mention. I don't want to talk about that man, but every time his name comes up, I will mock him.

Unfortunately the USA has many issues that are deeply ingrained within their society but I hope everyone there can have a good upcoming July 4th at least! Stay safe.

No, you're mostly right, and what you say is very grown up. I respect that. Trump though is not just an American problem. He insults and mocks other democratic nations on a regular basis whilst cozying up to Russia and North Korea. Criticism of Trump is criticism of Trump, not our good friends in America. I agree with you that we should be careful of the language we use.

Love and respect, RNM. You made good points.

Like him, or not, Justin Trudeau knows when to admit a mistake and realises that not everything is about him. He also speaks two languages perfectly and is quite good looking. (That last bit reflects my shallow side, but *sigh* he's pleasing to the eye.)

The media is noisy and so are the people who still support Trump without any questioning of what he does. I grew up in a small town in North Carolina and moved back and forth between there and the DC area, so I have quite a few right leaning friends as a consequence, an overwhelming majority of them are extremely critical and unsupportive of Trump's actions in office. Most reasonable people would be. Unfortunately Trump has a way of appealing to people who are ignorant and those who are far right because he talks a lot of trash on the Democrats.

Otis-T. What any country needs is a leader who tries to unite people. Trump plays to his base and goes out of his way to insult his critics. Bolsonaro is like that. They are destructive people. I hope we can find more unifying politicians.

We have two gay male romantic films in the Top & Bottom cinema. The first is Arizona Sky. (2008). No sex and not very good, but my mother liked it. The other is Song of the Loon (1970). The book is better, but quite an achievement to make this 50 years ago. Both have upbeat endings.
