Well I’ve never been a fan of dramas. Comedy, action, and horror are my favorite genres, with a little sci fi in there
Feoras, Lake of fur, and Zany Zanes
Excuse me, but can only the nations of this region participate in the poetry contest?
Feoras, Lake of fur, and Zany Zanes
At the beginning of his career he dedicated himself precisely to "Italian-style thrillers" then to horror (Profondo rosso etc.)
Lake of fur and Zany Zanes
No. I believe that regions that have embassies with the Bar can also contribute.

OK thank You ;)

Lake of fur, Zany Zanes, and Thoonia
Not only a national treasure of Italy but for the world.
Down By Law is, in its way, a comedy, though very arty and subtle at times. Not for everyone. The ensemble of Roberto Benigni, John Lurie and Tom Waits is casting genius. If you like this you may also enjoy Stranger Than Paradise (1984).
Life is Beautiful is likewise a comedy and only Benigni could have pulled of this film with its very serious subject matter and have it be both hysterically funny and poignantly touching at the same time.
One of the greats as far as low-budget horror goes. A master of horror.
Yes. You are correct.
Dario Argento
"an Italian film director, producer, film critic and screenwriter. He is best known for his work in the horror film genre during the 1970s and 1980s, particularly in the subgenre known as giallo; the influence of his work on modern horror films has led him to being referred to as the "Master of the Thrill" and the "Master of Horror"
His most notable films as director are the "Animal Trilogy", consisting of The Bird with the Crystal Plumage (1969), The Cat o' Nine Tails (1971) and Four Flies on Grey Velvet (1972); the "Three Mothers" trilogy, consisting of Suspiria (1977), Inferno (1980) and The Mother of Tears (2007); and the standalone films Deep Red (1975), Tenebrae (1982), Phenomena (1985), and Opera (1987). He also co-wrote the screenplay for Sergio Leone's Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) and served as George A. Romero's script consultant on Dawn of the Dead (1978), of which he also composed the soundtrack with his long-time collaborators Goblin. "
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dario_Argento
"In the context of 20th-century literature and film, especially in English, giallo refers specifically to a particular Italian thriller-horror genre that has mystery or detective elements and often contains slasher, crime fiction, psychological thriller, psychological horror, sexploitation, psychedelic and, less frequently, supernatural horror elements."
Any player in the game may make original poem submissions to the contest. They needn't even have an embassy with the Bar region and can submit them by telegram if they need to. Players may also make as many submissions as they wish each week and are allowed to resubmit poems which they have previously submitted that may not have won.
The purpose of the contest is to promote creativity in the game and to stimulate activity and interaction. Who wins and who doesn't is less important than simple having fun and enjoying the process of composing poems in the short period of time allowed.
I've gotten a request for the juke-box and it's been added to the playlist.
Enjoy.

"Gagawin ko ang lahat upang sa huli, sa huli,
Sa huli ay tayo
Kung kailangan kong tahakin ang kilome, kilome
Kilometrong layo
Yeah...
Oooh...
Oh...
Ooohh...
Bakit nga ba itong agwat natin
Pinipilit palawakin
Pero habang merong bumabalakid
Ang pag-ibig lumalalim
Tina tala sa tala ang layo
At di ka na matanaw
Pero pag humahaba ay lalo kitang sinisigaw
Maging ang laot walang takot na tawirin
Kahit alon ay umabot sa papawirin
San man dako'y pinangakong makakarating
Ikaw lang ay makapiling
Gagawin ko ang lahat upang sa huli, sa huli,
Sa huli ay tayo
Kung kailangan kong tahakin ang kilome, kilome
Kilometrong layo
Woo... Oh... Aah...
Oh... Ahh...
Kilome, kilome, kilometrong layo
Woo... Oh... Aah...
Oh... Ahh...
Kilome, kilome, kilometrong layo
Sumasalungat ang daigdig
At tayo'y di magkasalubong
San man dako'y pinangakong makakarating
Ikaw lang ay makapiling
Gagawin ko ang lahat upang sa huli, sa huli,

English Translation:
I'll do whatever it takes so we'll end, end, end up together
Even if I have to go through kilome, kilome, kilometers distance
Yeah...
Oooh...
Oh...
Ooohh...
Why do they keep on expanding
The distance between us
But the more they try to hinder
Our love grows deeper
It seems we're stars apart
And I can't see you
But the farther you are the more I call out to you
I'll fearlessly cross the ocean
Even if the waves reach the sky
I promise to go wherever
Just to be with you
I'll do whatever it takes so we'll end, end, end up together
Even if I have to go through kilome, kilome, kilometers distance
Woo... Oh... Aah...
Oh... Ahh...
kilome, kilome, kilometers distance
Woo... Oh... Aah...
Oh... Ahh...
kilome, kilome, kilometers distance
The world is dissenting
And we can't find each other
Oh, do we have to listen
And go with the waves
Drowned, doused and can't almost see you
After being covered with bruises
I still call out to you
I'll fearlessly cross the ocean
Even if the waves reach the sky
I promise to go wherever
Just to be with you
I'll do whatever it takes so we'll end, end, end up together
Even if I have to go through kilome, kilome, kilometers distance
Woo... Oh... Aah...
Oh... Ahh...

Oh, we got a good one coming up. This is going to be a lot of fun.
Feoras and Tercania islands
And he was a friend of George Romero's.
Argento had frequently worked with the music group Goblin who provided soundtracks for his films. Dawn of the Dead likewise and due to the friendship between Argento and Romero, has a score by this Italian band.

You got cut off, that’s why I asked. Wait, the George A Romero? Dude, he’s the creator of some of the greatest zombie movies. Night of the Living Dead and Return of the Living Dead.

Post self-deleted by The Ruby Ranch Republic.
Yes. I hit 'send' accidentally before I was finished composing my message.
Correct. Argento has also made some great zombie movies. You should try to find some and check 'em out.

I’ll try, Optimum On Demand doesn’t really have a great selection of horror movies. The Saw movies, the Scream franchise, and ReAnimator are the only ones that I know
Feoras, Lake of fur, and Santa lucia
I was at the premier for that movie and met Stuart Gordon personally, having been invited by Rick Berman who was a neighbor of one of my film-making buddies at the time.

If you were actually at the premier, in real life you’d be like 50 something years old or it premiered somewhat else or something like that

NationStates isn't composed entirely of Middle School or High School studentsThankfully. It's a pretty widespread community, filled with people of all ages. You can mostly sort them out based on their grammar and spelling, along with level of maturity.

In fact, I am one thousand years old.

"O, do not forsake me, my indolent friends
O, do not forsake me though you know I must spend
All my darkest hours talking like this
For I am one thousand years old
One thousand years old
Sure, you think that's old
One thousand years old
But what do you know?
In my darkest hour I'm talking like this
For I am one thousand years old
Oh, some have forgotten the flower of speech
And walks through the garden where I go to defend
Misbegotten notions while talking like this
For I am one thousand years old
One thousand years old
Sure, I'd say that's old
One thousand years old
But what do I know?
In your darkest hour, my indolent friends
We'll be one thousand years old"
