. . . meanwhile, as Evans begins pitching his fit, Apple still stands with one hand held out for a cordial shake. Slowly, the Speaker of the Throne retracts that hand, and turns his head to watch the senator stalk off. "Classy," he remarks to no one in particular (in a very mild tone and with barely a quirked eyebrow; the snark is implied).

Then, spotting Alice at the door of the courthouse, Apple gives an apologetic half-bow to the crowd of reporters and just goes to hug his little girl. He goes to hug Mother Charity too, but she and Brother Bohumir are both looking kind of . . . ready for something . . . so maybe best not. As for Father James, an invocation is already halfway spoken on his lips; from the right angle, when he looks at the right people, his grey eyes already glitter gold.

Katrine's eyes dart around when she hears Snow's wife (Mason's wife who I definitely did not just name at this moment). Seconds before her eyes meet Snow's many, she believes she's finally gone mad. That the stress of the trial and losing her husband has made her reach her breaking point. That Colin was right about her; in this brief moment, years' worth of memories of Mason's manipulation would flash through her mind which Snow could be privy to.

. . . But then her eyes reach Snow and the dragon's expression confirms the woman's mental grip. Relief washes over her, though her body still trembles, and she feels nauseous. No, thank you, she responds sheepishly. By this point, she's exhausted and only wants to return home. And so, she anxiously leaves.

The Prosecutor on the Dantes case, Billy Dee Jones, exits the court building as Katrine walks off. He pauses once he sees her, and his eyes linger on her as she leaves. Alongside the pit of disappointment in him, there's the feeling that Katrine is hiding information. He pities her (whatever the reason being) but makes it a mission to find out.

Mason is an arrogant man -- if that's what he can be considered (Jones preferred [i]"demon"). The entire time in court, even while it looked like the crowds outside wanted to lynch him, he didn't appear to have a single concern. He had to have said something to his wife about Adrian Dantes' murder. And Jones intends to find out.

Of course, whatever thought he formulates next is interrupted by the shock of seeing Snow.

On another side of things, Officer Mikel Montes is standing to a senior officer named Walsh. Montes observes what's happening around them while Walsh glares at Snow. He then spits out his chewing tobacco onto the ground. Then with a bold voice, he expresses his thoughts aloud to his fellow officer.

"Fvckin' dragoon! Bad enough we had a mystic in the courtroom. Now we got them here running amok!"[/i]
