A mixed signal, but I'm going to take it as a good thing until told otherwise!

Wabacha wrote:The farce of his wife has no difficulty luring Kirk back to street level, the swoop down followed by an explosion of stone and fire. The maddened knight rises from it, his vision red with the singular need to kill the Forgotten. All his years of training and careful methods of fighting have been washed away by his rage and grief. So when the Forgotten turns and charges straight for him, he does not think of the risks or what tricks this could entail. He sees an opportunity to finally cleave it in half. His sword arcs upwards in a flash of fire, and descends upon the Forgotten's head as it stretches out a single clawed finger to touch his heart.

The claw meant to pierce his heart stabs into his left side as the Forgotten avoids his obvious blow. Kirk, consumed in the moment, almost doesn't even realize that he has missed. He does notice however when the spell detonated.

Searing pain wracks his body and snaps Kirk out of his berserker state, but it's too late to do anything about it. Dust flies as he lands heavily on his right side. He is still coming to terms with what just happened when he rallies his aura to try and block the missiles that explode against them while trying to hit him. There's nothing Kirk could do about the other missiles that strike the buildings, except watch as they collapse into dust and rubble, the secrets within lost now forever. What am I doing? What am I DOING! With the aura barrier still holding Kirk struggles to his feet, a hand plastered tightly to the wound left by his recklessness. I'm a damned fool.

The Beast imitating his wife stays up in the air, left with a seeping scar across her stomach where the sword had managed to graze her before the detonation of the pinpoint explosion went off. She could sense the familiar tingle of Aura amidst the dust that now covered his position ad still hanging in the air in eye of the storm she was maintaining. The loud clatter and rumble of rubble dispersing with the soft sound of splinters falling around the area was all that could be heard as the beast stayed in the air. Letting precious seconds tick away while Kirk was seemingly pulling himself together. Though now... Something was starting to tug at her chest after realising he was still alive.

"Have you stopped throwing your fit now love? As charming as watching you go berserk iiiis, you're definitely stronger than the others that tried to pass by me. If the next one after you is similarly strong..." The beast went to silently ponder her point as she elegantly raised her hand, mana started to fill the air before it started to condense into a point as it started to take the form of something similar to him while he studied Aura beside the other Templars under Duncan and Samuel Mason...

The mana was being condensed into a pin point again before a small sphere started to grow with a dazzling white shine. A large swirling edge started to spin from the centre that started to give it a shuriken like appearance. The appearance of it started to remind him of the [Starlight] nature that the Cross siblings and Felix showed off learning during their time in the mirror realm in its brilliant shine and unmissable heat, even the vacuumed environment of the eye of the hurricane they now stand in was starting whip up some gale force winds. The attack was going to be big unless he stopped it... He'll need to end things fast. It would be a good time for him to remember that he did absorb the very essence of Death magic when he took Richard's test.

OOC: That isn't how the Drinker works. Kirk has to make physical contact and take it, he never touched Richard. The Drinker's envy created a facsimile of what it desired, but it wasn't permanent.

His second soul dutifully does its best to patch the grievous wound in his side, but Kirk's attention is locked on something else. Not the wound. Not the blood exiting his body. Not the collecting Starlight in the monster personating his wife's hand. No. "How many..."

"How many did you kill with Joanne's face."

His position no longer obscured, wind whipping and whirling through the hollow building he was now taking refuge in, the Beast could easily get a line of sight now as she heard his hollow tone as she just flashes a toothy grin down at him. "As if I would keep count. Do you count all of the bugs you have squashed? Though I believe it was an large number. Especially in the last few days of the war, whole teams would ignore the warnings set before them and brave these cursed lands in search for a way to stop all of the wonderful bloodshed. I mean, imagine murdering each over a fakers throne... How self important and deluded can all of you get." Her eyes stayed affixed to him, his attention was squarely on her and she will need to be wary of just what he does. Even with this distance between them she didn't know what kind of tricks he and the Drinker still had.

Ah, from a different thing entirely. Sounds like it could be from abridged though

Wabacha wrote:"Yeah, something like that." While he has no idea what reference she's making Lee goes along with it. He's looking out into the throngs of party goers creating anarchy in the streets as the woman puts on his coat, and he almost misses when she gives him a name. He has no reasons to believe whether it's her actual name or not, but it doesn't really matter. "Well Willow. " Lee takes another drag, dull orange light fading to nothing. "Ready to go?"

Silently and with visible reluctance, Willow steps a little closer to Lee as if to non-verbally say she's ready to go, but doesn't want to say it. Instead she simply stands there are looks down to the side, hiding a deeply annoyed and slightly embarrassed face. Seems Willow really doesn't like people, or at the very least doesn't like men...maybe even just Lee in particular for whatever reason.

Assuming they stand there without Lee acknowledging her non-verbal confirmation, she does finally speak after nearly 10 seconds of awkward silence. "Fine. Yes, I'm ready. Just...let's go already."

The boasting of the demon in his wife's skin dissolves into the background, mixing with the growing ringing in his ears. This monster, slaying untold numbers of people, wearing his dear Joanne's face. It was the last straw.

Take it. The Drinker stirs. Take everything. Take my life, take all of my lives! Every blasted reincarnation I would suffer not knowing this monster was wearing my wife's face! He could feel it within him. New blood pours from his wound, yet it turns to pure mana after it leaves his body. The same goes for the tears that stream down Kirk's face. Pound after pound is drained from his body as his armor begins to wither away. Take my soul! Take both of my souls! Take everything I have and more! Everything you want!

Will you accept.

The betrayal of his future lives and his second soul are a small price to pay to put an end to this stain on his family's memory. I do.

Then be reborn.

The souls of Zocom have many different paths to chose, always changing and always timeless. They chose to express themselves in all forms of races and creeds, but always drifting back to one familiar lifestyle. Through their journey through their Goddess' domain, they are warped by the chaotic energies within, making every soul born within a conduit for the old magics destined to flow through them.

Some are more unique in this sense than most, warped so thoroughly that they become the very thing they are destined to channel, born from the rituals themselves.

Some of them are born to become something more, becoming stronger, sturdier, more potent than any soul that came before them.

And some, the precious few...

Are chosen.

First came the burning black fire, a burning star with many arms that consumes Kirk in his entirety. Then comes the blinding white light, light that consumes the darkness and spread outwards to carpet the dead city. Then through the light, the shadows begin to form. Stretching further and further, beyond the limits of natural light to spiral around on singular point, a fixture of light and dark that stands silently staring at the Forgotten wearing his beloved's face. His armor is scorched and withered, the blue crest of the Bargores twisted into black armor. His long blonde hair is blonde no more, as black as the shadows dragged into his own, and parted by pointed ears and over a paler and thinner face. His cloak now billows behind him, fluttering in the wind and casting new shadows for the shadows made by the light he emits to spiral in towards.

And finally, his luminous yellow eyes burn piercing daggers through the Forgotten, the one who forced his hand, to sell his souls and his future to his family's dark Patron. For the sake of his wife's memory, and for the safety of his daughter. And through his Patron's hunger he is born, Kirk Bargore of the Terraka. Avatar of the Drinker, the hungering darkness. With one hand clad in a black gauntlet, he beckons the Forgotten to do its worst. And embrace the horror he will bestow upon the one who drove him so far.

The beast quickly shielded herself with her wings as the entire city and even the hurricane that encompassed the entire city was being engulfed in this shadow that had Bargore as its eye. It was such an intense shift in energy that she couldn't even shift from her position in the air, it was taking everything she had to stay in her spot to begin with.

What the hell is going on?! What the hell is he doing?!

Thoughts rushed through her head before she could feel it, eyes widening as a new rush of worry flushes over her. His souls were compromised and a rapid change was occurring. Her master warned her that something like this could happen, a drastic evolution right before her eyes. She opened her wings at once, ready to stop this here and now with what energy she had at her disposal... But it was far too late for that. The torrent of energy let up long enough for their two figures to be visible to one another. Her teeth grinded against one another as she realised what she just let happen...

All above them the hurricane was being dispersed, her cover broken and now easily visible with the amount of holes his shadows blew in the protective barrier that separated this last bastion of hope for the Zoconian's from the descendants beyond the wall. The rules of that desert wouldn't hold back the hordes that would cross that barren landscape now, the test might not even be in effect now that the descendant of the Bargore was so close. He had ruined everything.

No other option now. Bar them everything. Nothing can remain.

The white star of power radiating in her hand grew in size at the expense of her complexion noticeable wither up, though her apparent rage only seemed to burn brighter. "So you decided to evolve and throw away everything? FINE. IT WON'T DO YOU ANY GOOD!!" Throwing it was meaningless, it would take too long to reach the ground and he might intercept it and devour it with the drinkers help. No other option. No other choice. He can't be allowed to touch it. So she does the only thing that comes to mind, she surged her arm directly into the white star to detonate it here and now, away from Kirk before he even has a chance to regret throwing away his life for some scraps of paper. And she looked pretty pleased to deny him even that. Th Kings power wouldn't allow the detonation to even reach the walls that separated the desert and the rest of what survived of Zocom. But it would still leave this desert as a crude craterous bowl. Or at least that is what she hoped.

Magic surges through Kirk's body like a flood, an overwhelming torrent unlike any height he has ever experienced. He can feel that the envy is no longer there, there is nothing left to envy. Only the hunger. Insatiable hunger. Kirk's eyes flick to the Starlight that begins to erupt in the Forgotten's control. "Sunder." His hands come close and wrench their fingers into the space in front of him, tearing open the light and letting the darkness pour out. Or moreso, letting the light and dark be pulled into the spiral created between Kirk's hands that leads to an endless abyss. The Starlight detonation is dismembered, light pulled from its edges and spiral into the darkness gathered between Kirk's fingers. But that isn't the only thing pulled in towards him. The nearby buildings, already damaged from their battle, find their shadows and their materials pulled as well. Ripped apart into nothing to be consumed by the dark summoned by Kirk. Only after the Starlight is pulled into the spiral Kirk brings his hands back together, sealing the gap and letting normal gravity take hold once more.

So you have chosen....death.

I bet you all thought I was dead. Well I was.

But I lived.

It's been a nutty week between work and recovering from having all four wisdom teeth pulled plus the side work I'm doing at the moment. I'll get to posting when I can.
