lol, give me a number

probably would be pretty popular with farmers and rural folk, maybe municipal governments too (police, forestry services, etc.)
Numbers I'm not quite sure of, but sound good for a potential market?

Athara Magarat wrote:4 Zones still up for grabs, Free Powers.

The Imperial War is considered to be the deadliest conflict in the history of the Isles with ?million casualties; 1 million of whom were Magaratis. While the conflict began in 1941 and ended in 1948; in modern-day Athara Magarat, the broader "Imperial War Period" is applied for the two decades between 1928 and 1948.

Throughout the Imperial War, there were 36 Guns in service of the Imperial Magarati Army. The 36 Guns of Magarat had historically been administrative units of the hangates in the Khas-Kirat Empire that acted as military divisions of in times of war. Each Khas-Kirati or Aregean Ipachi family sent their eldest son (or even the eldest daughter if the household had no males) to serve the under the banners of their clan leader, hang or even the Mahang himself (depending on the scale of the conflict). Men conscripted this way added Bahadur ("brave") in their names (for example: Prem beomes Prem Bahadur) while the women could add Maya (for example: Prema becomes Prem Maya) and this is the main reason for the abundance of historical Khas-Kirati or Argean Ipachi names with these two titles. Ethnic groups like Magarati Domans, Nyssics and others were historically exempt from conscription; but they had to pay special taxes. This conscription system generated both manpower and income for the hangates, tribes and clans in the Khas-Kirat Empire that were always at war with each other throughout much of its history (if not invading or raiding other nations). During the Medieval Period, the numbers in a gun were inconsistent but generally larger tribes or hangates fielded between 10,000 to 20,000 warriors while smaller tribes or clans could only must a force barely a few thousand. After 16th Century (as a result of the Peace of Vendriothos established in the aftermath of the Battle of Sunwarshi), the term "gun" was used for standing armies of hangates.

On 11 November 1909, Tilija Hangma (the last "mainland Mgar" ruler of the Khas-Kirat Empire) was killed by a stray bullet in the crossfire between rebels and local authorities in Courlaroux, Dormill and Stiura. Her death, which till date is speculated to a deliberate assassination rather than an accident, resulted in the War of the Khas-Kirati Succession (also known as the Great Gael War in Gael or as the War of the Contested Throne in Raedlon). The northern hangates (Northern Magarati Alliance) supported the TBDNoronicanPRince while the southern hangates (Southern Magarati Pact) backed the Osean claimant from Razzgriz to the imperial throne. The great war was eventually won by the Nyssic Colonial Empire and her allies. In 1918, the newly-crowned TBDNoronnicanPrince exercised his powers as the Mahang by abolishing the Khas-Kirat Empire and replacing it with the Magarati Dominion under the Noronnican crown. While the Khas-Kirat Empire never had a fixed capital, the Magarati Dominion was heavily centralized around the capital Liba Hang (literally "Hang's Rest"; a city that the Noronnicans called "Libang").

However, the Magarati Domionion would last only for a decade. Growing resentment against the Noronnican rule, stemming from the controversial Nolon City Naval Arms Limitations Treaty that Magarati representatives had opposed while their Noronnican overlords proposed it, reached boiling points. The Magaratis were also unhappy that the Noronnican Canal Colony was a separate administrative division rather than the Central Canal and its adjacent areas, which they viewed as historical territories belonging to Liba Hangate and Mahakirat Hangate (the two northern hangates had sold these territories to their mutual ally Noronica to pay off the debts after becoming bankrupt due to the their failed attempts at constructing the canal and the financial burdens from the many wars that they had been involved in), being under the Magarati Dominion. In 1928, the increase in violence and the rebel army led by Hem Gauchan threatening to storm Liba Hang finally forced the Noronnicans to grant the Magaratis their independence before the situation escalated further. The outgoing Noronnican administrators and Gauchan's group signed a treaty that gave independence only to the Magarati Dominion and the Canal Colony and Myagdi Island (modern-day Tapu Sahar) were to be still part of the Nyssic Colonial Empire. It also had clauses that made the Magaratis signatories to the Nolon City Naval Arms Limitations Treaty, placed a limit of 100,000 men for the Magarati army and forbade them for declaring wars. Gauchan was particularly furious about these restrictions but an agreement was finally reached after the Magaratis declared they would honor these restrictions for the next ten years with faint promises of renewing the agreement in future if the Noronica and her allies offered them favorable deals.

Since Gauchan, a Keomoran Thakali residing in Liba Hang, was not a Mgar or even remotely related to any members of the various cadet branches across the Isles, he could not hold the title of Mahang. Thus, he took the title of "Emperor" instead and named his new nation the Empire of Magarat. For the next ten years, Gauchan heavily militarized the fledgling nation; completely ignoring the 100,000 men limit imposed on his army. During this decade, his government also rounded up Magarati Nyssics in concentration camps and carried out ethnic cleansing of Magarati Domans. By 1938, the Imperial Magarati Army was composed of 36 Guns with each having roughly 20,100 men in attack and 9,000 support units; maintaining a 67:33 ratio between the attack and support units. However, only a few of these units (such as the Gaidu Gun) were fully-operational at 1938 when the Magarati Invasion of Remodio began and all of the 36 Guns attained reached their maximum strength two years later after the Doman-Magarati War ended. A gun would typically consist of:

  • 3 infantry and tank-mixed armored battalions with light tanks for recon

  • 3 artillery battalions (36 batteries each); these artillery battalions could be further divided into 3 artillery sub-battalions (12 batteries each)

  • 3 motorcycle, truck and horse-mounted mixed cavalry battalions that had half the men and weapons of an infantry battalion

  • Infantry, engineering, medical, signals and supply units made rest of the gun.

As the Imperial War progressed, the number of soldiers in a gun was expanded from 30,000 to 60,000 and then further to 90,000 while still maintaining the 67:33 ratio between attack and support units. The 36 Guns were highly mobile and independent in nature but often worked alongside each other, the Imperial Magarati Air Force, the Imperial Magarati Navy and armed forces of other Neo-Imperialist powers. The Imperial Magarati Armed Forces used the following equipment during the Imperial War:

Infantry Weapons

1886 Night-Miyongma Rifle (Krag-Jorgensen)

Doman-Magarati War (1938 - 1940)

If there were to be an award for the nation invaded most by the Khas-Kirat Empire, Domanania would be clear winner. However, when the Doman-Magarati War is mentioned, it is generally the one that took place from 1938 to 1940. As part of their Plan C to take over the various islands in Mesder Sea and Southern Sea one by one, the Imperial Magarati Armed Forces invaded Remodio in 1938.

Also, yeah...I named them Plans A, B and C...

Unless you want some horrible things to be happening in a zone you donít want Aizcona in one of them haha

Would be funny though

If you're in the business of horrible things we could share Zone 5... the Neosarche are not averse to horrible things happening to Magaratis...

Good to see you back Weinam

This will surely have no consequences later on /s

That is what it is supposed to be.

Magarat had never been a united nation except under Noronnican-led Magarati Dominion from 1918-1928 and under Empire of Magarat from 1928-1948 (and modern AM after 1995).

The Free Powers and even Neo-Imps like Keomora and Ktismandrasi who switched sides, would be handing out the ultimate punishment by dividing Magarat into how it was from 16th to 19th Century; into 12 hangates. A united Magarat was a threat to the Isles (a sentiment that could still ICly shared and I would say made even more possible by how the Magarati gov and its diplomats operate).

These 12 occupation zones would be vassal states that were restricted from having armed forces and set up in way that they relied in their overlords. I am open to witch-hunts and massacres of "people involved with Magarati war criminals) as revenge (given how clan systems worked; that would be almost everyone from the said person's clan). You guys are also free to use the occupation zones as dumping grounds for your Khas-Kirati populations. Now, you guys are free to do whatever you want (and the situation would obviously vary from occupation zone to zone).

The end goal is to have communist leaders become the face of Magarati nationalism and Magarati companies benefit from all thia mess.

my semester's finally over :) time to waste a bunch of time writing nonsensical fact books

You will get Mesderina island as well in bonus.

Mesderina used to a territory of the Hangate of Sinja (Zone 4).

Any zones still open? I should be able to give you some stuff, if slowly.

Some update: In honor of Xrevaro, Keomora and I have decided to name our USSR-like union between 50s and 90s the Socialist Republica of Xreravo (Towns and I have already named our space station module the Samudera Module as in honor of another C'ted nation).

Since Xrevaro and Mitravarta are C'ted and Alteran Republics is no longer not!Korean, we have decided for an ancient race called "Xrevarans" to fill the role of "notEastAsians" with Kemor, an island that sunk and gave rise to the Three Islands (Myagdi, Tiwe Sivn and New Forest).

Apparently not, since I have no clue what is/was. Ooops.

Edit: unless it's possible to retroactively be part of that...

Xrev better not CTE or I won't have anyone to bond over Pride month with. It's tradition

However, only Chuli Hangate (Zone 8) is still available.

Kinda interesting how Miklania and Noronica did not have Occupation Zones in AM in post-Imperial War period.

Then again, Noronica was in full decolonization mode and Miklania was there only for Freedom :P
