RP Kasnovian Industry
The Civil War is over, many are returning to their old jobs. The FKSSR ruined these jobs which had gotten used to the Kasnov Republic system of industry, now the KFR is back in control and ready to restart the Kasnovian Industry, by getting loans by the UOWS and the UEDC and backed heavily by Commonwealth Investors, The Kasnovian Automobile Industry, The Mining Industry and The Space Industry have all gotten massive investment from both The Commonwealth and the Government using it's UEDC funds, these 3 industries make up the majority of Kasnovias worth when it was the KSSR. With these industries getting revived and with better investment to do even better then they did in during The KSSR. Many are leaving the Military to go work in these fields as well. Also, The Commonwealth has started to invest in Kasnovian Internet infrastructure, mainly in the big cities however. The Kasnovian Economy may be bad right now, but many are expecting quick growth to happen soon.

At 8:36 AM. The first assault begins. Forces from trinity city consisting of 1.2 million infantry, with 1000 tanks leading the way, they were to push into south Texas across the coastline, where there were to then advance northwest slowly, as to not damage the integrity of the operation.

December 3rd, Galveston

The Texan Marines are awoken by their drill sergeants, there was an emergency debriefing:

6 months prior, they were told they would be landing in Eastern Saliplan, near Aulik. Today, they were told the truth.

They were to land on the Beaches of Arlington, 20 miles west of Corpus Christi. Their goal was to support the troops attacking from Corpus Christi, to capture ports, and to destroy supply lines. And most importantly, they’re really to break the MWCR doctrine of sacrifice.

*The Nail*

The main force of the operation waits in the south of the Trinity Salient, they were told of this operation a month ago. They were to be the final blow to army group sud. They were the most armed, the most traindest the Präsidentengarde, the oldest unit in Texas, founded in 1832 by Samuel Houston himself, were taking part in the battle.

The 1.3 million men at trinity city, supported by 5000 tanks were to charge down the east bank of the Astatine River, cutting off Army Group Sud from Rythican supply, they were then to dig trenches and entrench their tanks along the Astatine River, and hold the line at all costs.

The goal of the Operation is to eliminate Army Group Sud, and to drive the invaders out of Texan soil.

The March begins

RP The Test of a Doctrine
In Fason, Commonwealth forces working with the UOWS Intervention Forces figured that it would be good to test out the UCAV and Cyber Warfare programs on The Security Force. The Fasonian Government authorized The Commonwealth to fire on well known ammo depots controlled by Security Force Insurgents. UCAVs were sent out, being controlled by Commonwealth Air Men in UOWS Bases in Fason. Several Bombing Runs were done using UCAV drones, alongside recon missions done by Normal UAVs. Motorized Infantry on the ground were relayed about enemy movements via the Recon UAVs. With this, several missions involving striking known Ammo Depots of Insurgents, as well as aiding Fason Forces in their missions with Commonwealth Infantry Support. On The Cyber Warfare Front, Hackers were able to get into Security Force Computers and were able to retrieve in depth war plans and other information for UOWS forces.

A New Age of Warfare

As Operation Mannerheim commences, the majority of the San Cark armed forces is concentrated around the nations of Roccia, Fason and Ndola, with the sole purpose of rooting out and systematically destroying the Dark Cohort and their allies. While this is seen by many as a noble cause, destroying a terrorist group which had brought pain and suffering to countless people all across Tidewater, and who claims to be a successor-state to perhaps the most evil reigime to ever exist, that being the Jinjuan Security Force, of which many of its' head officers play a key part in the operations of the Cohort, to many in the San Cark high command, this is seen as nothing more than a weakness. By committing the bulk of our forces overseas, we have weakened the home-front, and though the High Command doubts the possibility of a full-scale war in mainland San Cark, many are raising concerns over recent Commonwealth aggression in the Utralian Channel, as well as pointing towards the rise of the Rythican Confederation and its' growing military capabilities as a future threat towards San Cark, and claim that our mighty military is no longer present to serve as a deterrent towards foreign aggression, which means that, due to the very limited manpower available thanks to the fact that the San Cark military operates on a strictly volunteer-only basis, the nation's security and status as a global hegemon may very well be threatened, with almost nothing we can do about it. The logical descision would be, of course, to simply pull a large chunk of our forces out of Mannerheim, as surely so many men are not needed to deal with a couple thousand terrorists, however, that option fails to consider the political impact, as pulling men out of Fason, Ndola and Roccia would undoubtedly be seen as a cowardly act by the general populace, breeding distrust and discontent amongst the people, which never goes well, especially in a democratic nation. To the untrained eye, the only other possible option would be to increase the manpower pool, likely by implementing some sort of conscription, however that solution once more fails to take into account the political aspect of things, as any politician who even suggests a nationwide draft would likely be booed out of office by the overwhelmingly individualistic populace which makes up the San Cark nation, not to mention the comparisons which would be made between them and the likes of Cock and Jorge, who were the last ones to implement nationwide conscription in the nation. Though it may seem like all hope is lost, and that the former of the two options should be chosen and our losses to be cut, there is another solution, one that has not been implemented, nor really thought up, at any major scale, perhaps anywhere in the world, that being, the private sector. Like many things in San Cark, the firearm and weapons market goes widely unregulated, with a few checks and licenses here and there to ensure basic safety, which has brought about a recent rise in popularity and publicity of several companies which offer military-style training marketed as the ultimate self-defense, chief among which being Olson-Barnes Ltd. Olson-Barnes, as the name implies, was founded by two ex-special forces operatives, those being Vasily Barnes and Hugo Olson, who, after serving as volunteers in the Kasnovian Civil War and being honourably discharged from service after Vasily was wounded in the lower-thigh, and Hugo in the left-arm, had a tough time re-adapting themselves to civilian society. The two were close, serving in the same squad during the war, and together being amongst the twenty-two men in their platoon who survived the Kasnovian ambush which left the two injured, and remained friends even after their service had ended. Neither of them, despite being initially promising and talented young lads, could manage to hold on to a job for very long however, which led them down the sad but too real path which many veterans face of substance abuse and poverty. As Vasily was searching through the internet at one of the library's newly-acquired computers, searching for a job, however, he stumbled upon one listing for an assistant instructor at a shooting range, which sparked the billion-dollar idea. Vasily made his way to the nearest pay-phone booth, where he would fumble around the coins in his wallet, finally finding the two-quarters he needed for the fee, after which he deposited and tapped in the number of the homeless-shelter in which his old friend Hugo was currently residing in, to relay his idea, that of opening a shooting range, somewhere in rural San Cark where the land was relatively cheap, and offering military-style training and the largest practice range in the country to anyone who would pay the fee. Initially dismissed by Hugo as an insane idea, with him also citing the fact that even if it were a good idea, that they would seriously struggle with finding funding or investment, Vasily persisted, insisting that the range could not only provide training and practice for those concerned with their own safety, but also a place for fellow down-trodden veterans and servicemen to meet up and have a community to be apart of. Though Hugo continued to protest, Vasily managed to find a private investment firm headquartered in the medium-sized city of Kaanpal which was only a couple of hours away if they took the newly-constructed Senhau Interconnected Railway Network from their current location of Rozi, and managed to convince Hugo to come along with him, though he insisted it was a dead-end. They managed to purchase two relatively-formal sets of clothing for a reasonable price from a secondhand clothing store, though it smelt vaguely of narcotics they had it dry-cleaned just in case, and set an appointment with the firm. As Vasily and Hugo made their way onto the packed train, they each took a seat, and thought to themselves how their lives were about to change, though none could have predicted by how much this change would truly be. As the two stepped out of the train and onto the station, the warm Kaanpal air struck them particularly hard, as they were both clad in woolen suits and dress-pants, which aren't exactly renowned for their comfort, especially in such blazing heat. Something as trivial as the weather would not deter the two, however, as they were given an opportunity to finally change their lives and get out of the dead-end which they were seemingly stuck in, and by god were they going to take it. Their pitch was astounding, as though neither of them had a formal degree, Vasily was midway through a four-year course in business, and Hugo a five-year in marketing before the breakout of the Kasnovian civil war, prompting them both to join the military in order to aid the pro-democratic forces in the region. Though they were never able to finish their courses due to the fact that neither of them wanted to expend the time nor the money into pursuing a field that neither one was too fond of, their skills still managed to help them into convincing the firm to provide them with an investment of 425,000 Shekels (around 16.5 million TCC) in exchange for a 20% stake in the company, as well as a 5% cut in any and all profits made after three years. With this newfound investment, as well as a little bit of what savings they had left, the two founded Olson-Barnes Limited, and surveyed the land before deciding on a 6,000 acre plot of land which, when added onto the price of the actual construction of the facilities and all the amenities, ran the two only 200,000 shekels, leaving 225,000 for stocking up and paying the employees. Once open, business was much more prolific than expected, with profits exceeding even the most optimistic predictions. For the next couple of years, the company would slowly but steadily expand their operations across San Cark, before one phone-call changed the course of the two's lives forever. On a warm autumn evening, Vasily, now the CEO of Olson-Barnes, would receive a call from a woman by the name of Sofia Vaduz, former Deputy Director of the National Diplomatic Council. Sofia was not one to beat around the bush, rather, she was straight to-the-point in that she saw an opportunity in Olson-Barnes, one that she was ever-so-eager to capitalize on. Having saved up a tidy sum of money from her relatively high-paying job, which she then invested into several budding technology companies which have seen her modest savings account rise into what many would consider a small fortune, it was not a stretch to say that she did not lack the capital required for investment, and her experience as the Deputy Director of one of the world's largest intelligence services has given her a keen eye for these types of opportunities. Sofia's pitch was as follows, though San Cark is a relatively stable and safe nation, especially for foreign and domestic investors, this cannot be said for much of the rest of the world, and so if, in some areas, the police won't keep workplaces owned by Cark companies and their workers' safe from theft, terrorist attacks, or anything else, then surely someone would have to. Olson-Barnes' primary customer base is made up of two major groups, veterans who seek community and a place to be with fellow servicemen, and civilians who seek proper military training, which means that there is no shortage of patriotic Carks there looking to continue to protect and serve the San Cark people across the globe. Furthermore, many of these veterans are in a similar position to the two founders, out of a job and having difficultly adjusting to civilian life, so if Olson-Barnes were to open up several hundred positions for private security officers which offer military-level protection, not only would Cark investors in dangerous parts of the world be practically begging for their services, but if they played their cards right, they may even be able to score a deal with the San Cark government, perhaps as security detail for an important diplomat or even to assist active servicemen. Though initially skeptical, Vasily acknowledged the potential in this idea, and struck a deal with Vaduz, one million Shekels (equivalent to just under 40 million TCC), in exchange for a 15% share in the company of her own, as well as a guaranteed spot on the board of directors. This massive investment would go towards funding and paying this new mercenary group, as well as equipping and stocking them for the dangers ahead, and thus, the idea of a Private Military Contractor was born. Olson-Barnes initially did not fare too well, having trouble getting their message across, however they finally found a customer in the form of a textile mill partially owned by a small Cark investment firm over in Kaiser Friedrichsland, which employs several hundred workers, primarily natives, many of whom fear for their lives as the recent pro-independence protests have started getting violent, with some more militant pro-independence groups taking it upon themselves to target foreign-owned businesses, especially Cark or German. Olson-Barnes is to provide, in exchange for five-thousand Shekels per-week, sixty men constantly patrolling and protecting the mill, split into three groups of 20 each working eight-hour shifts so as to cover the entire day. The pay for the individual was quite high, roughly 2,500 shekels annually, which translates to around 100,000 TCC per year, almost twice the national average, and much higher than what they would be earning if they were still in the military, therefore many seized the opportunity and applied for the job. Olson-Barnes would, after that, land many more contracts, however their first government-contract would not be for several years. After losing the 1999 San Cark General Elections, Hasan Farabi would be immideately nominated for Secretary-General of the UOWS, and would manage to pull a landslide victory. Though this victory was a hallmark success for San Cark, many in the government were concerned about Farabi's safety, though sending an official security detail would likely be seen as threatening, as if they were preparing for something, therefore President Frederick Kessler made the executive descision to covertly hire Olson-Barnes to send fifteen men to protect Farabi, for a payment of 10,000 shekels per week. This was much, much more than any of their previous contracts, and therefore they once more jumped onto the opportunity, getting fifteen of their very best men to fly to Los Espenaza in order to provide security detail. Though multiple attempts on Farabi's life were indeed made, by various groups, all of them were thwarted by his fifteen bodyguards, which earned them a reputation for quality and infallability, that is, until the Christmas-Day attacks. Following a heated debate in the UOWS, after which both the KFSR and NAC representatives were sent out of the room for behaviour unbecoming of an ambassador, Farabi would begin to give a speech about unity and how far we have all come, when suddenly, just like that, the lives of hundreds in that building would be erased. The families and loved-ones of the fifteen security officers were generously compensated by Hugo himself, taking the money out of his own pocket to help them pay for their recently deceased's funeral and such, and taking the time to present it to them in-person, often spending hours at each family's residence reminiscing along with them about the man who had just died, and regretting that he did not take more time to learn who these people were before the disaster. In the present day, President Kessler and his High Command see an opportunity in private military contractors such as Hugo-Barnes, not only to provide security detail onto high-ranking officials such as Farabi, god rest his soul, but also to undergo time-sensetive missions which the bureaucratic nature of the military would not allow for, such as resupplying troops under siege, and providing cover fire to allow retreating soldiers to get back safely. Beyond this, however, Kessler also sees potential in these companies as a viable alternative to conscription, as not only are these men trained veterans who want to serve their country, and who are generously compensated for it, but they are also available at a moments' notice, and therefore are able to mobilize massive amounts of skilled manpower at a whim, meaning that they are the perfect defense against a potential foreign invasion or agression, as even if the main army is busy somewhere else like it is now with Operation Mannerheim, the Home Isles and San Cark dominance of Ausdonia still remain secure. Some companies are taking this concept into different fields as well, such as the newly founded Naval Sentinel, who has at its' helm many very reputable men, those of note being Defense Minister Rashad Jabour, former German Rear Admiral Heinrich Bischof, former Cark admiral Orlando Florentine, as well as Romme Prudence, the grandson of a prominent Cholar admiral and budding Jinjuan politician, along with many others, which specializes in shipbuilding and management, with the idea that it is to create and then dock several naval ships around the world, so that any of them may be purchased by San Cark at a moments' notice in order to deal with a particular situation at that part of the world quickly and efficiently. Today truly marks a new era of warfare, and many in the military are eager to see where this leads us.

A Slight Adjustment
The Third San Cark Republic, in response to the Second Republic of Jinu's proposal towards an Ausdonian Union, is intrigued though hesitant to join, as it feels several aspects are a little too centralized for its' tastes. One of San Cark's largest concerns is the fact that the Commonwealth will be the host of the Ausdonian Parliament, when San Cark would much prefer that seat to be held by a less major power, such as perhaps Jinju, as that would mean it would be more secure and less of a target for any foreign attacks.

Another Massive Earthquake (part 1/3)

The people of the Rythican Confederation go about their daily lives just ignoring the war raging in the north. It’s a normal afternoon in the JEDC (Jordal Earthquake Detection Centre) with the only weird thing being that Gaston Matthieu, a junior researcher, was eating a tuna sandwich. All of a sudden at 2:46pm local time, the seismometers picked up a massive earthquake about to happen. They immediately turned on the J-ALERT (Jordal Alert, an Emergency Broadcast System) warning of an earthquake to be felt throughout the entire Rythican Confederation in some capacity with large warnings being given to Moluccas and Saliplan. 15 seconds after citizens heard of the earthquake warning, the violent shaking began. Most people got off lucky as buildings in Rythica had to be earthquake proofed so many buildings didn’t fall, only older ones. All public transport was stopped immediately by a fail safe system that locks all trains in place in the case of an earthquake. The shaking lasted a record breaking (for Rythica) 6 minutes before finally calming down. The people were shocked at how violent and intense the shaking was but other than that they remained in place just in case of immediate aftershocks. Saliplan and Moluccas were hit the worst and aid missions were dispatched straight away. The people are on watch for tsunamis but for now, life goes on.

Meltdown (Part 3/3)

In the aftermath of the tsunami and earthquake, most people in the affected areas thought it was all over. In the Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear power plant, right as the earthquake was detected all fission reactors were shut down immediately and the diesel generators came on automatically. The diesel generators’ main function was to pump coolant through the reactors but when the tsunami flooded the plant, the diesel generators failed so coolant stopped being pumped. This news was sent to Aulik, who sent emergency nuclear technicians to fix the issue before it got out of hand. People in a 30 square kilometre area of Fukushima-Daiichi were told to evacuate and that most likely it wouldn’t be for too long and it was just a precaution but they should be prepared for it to be permanent. When the emergency nuclear team arrived on scene there was little they could do but they gave it their best shot regardless. The sirens outside the power plant automatically triggered warning of an imminent meltdown of reactor 1, 3 and 4. But something even worse happened in those reactors after the meltdown. As the nuclear team began evacuating the plant they heard a large explosion from reactor 4. They look back and a hydrogen explosion had ripped the roof off of the reactor, leaking deadly radioactive material into the surrounding land and ocean. Reactors 1 and 3 followed with 2 more hydrogen explosions leaking even more radioactive material and making it certain the evacuation was permanent. Reactor 2 experienced a meltdown but there was no hydrogen explosion. Several teams were sent to the site to stop the radiation leaks and clear up the site. Odette Beaumont have a speech on television informing the world of the disaster.

“At 5:17pm local time, I regret to inform the world, our nuclear power plant Fukushima-Daiichi in southern Saliplan, where I come from myself, has had a catastrophic accident following our recent earthquake and tsunami. Reactors 1,3 and 4 have experienced a meltdown and hydrogen explosion and reactor 2 has experienced a meltdown but no explosion leaking radioactive material over southern Saliplan and the ocean. We are working tirelessly to clean up the site and stop radiation leaking but this may take some time. Thank you.”

Odette leaves the stage almost crying as she does. The cleanup begins.

RP 2004 National Election
Election Day is near, all positions were on a equal playing field, all 3 parties has even chances of winning, the votes were counted, and at the end, Allen's strong charismatic attitude won him the election. The YPTC won the election, with Bobby Allen becoming the 5th President of The Commonwealth. In The House, the L-C did awful, however they still control the house, however The YPTC and NLP took seats from the L-C, in the Senate. No seats changed expect for a L-C one going to the YPTC. Which means the L-C still control the senate by a large amount. In other places like Deseret and San Esperito, Takayama Saionji won the Governorship of Deseret, many were shocked but this only came inside Deseret and surrounding states. In San Eseperito, Joseph Brooks won the Governorship of San Esperito. Many are wondering what his new socialist views and new thoughts on nationalism will take the state. Allen was set to be inaugurated, this was the first inauguration to be held in New Kings, the new capitol. Allen as a sign of hopeful cooperation between San Cark and The Commonwealth invited The President to come to his Inauguration, at his Inauguration, Allen gave a passionate speech to the crowd spectating him "Hello!" He said loudly to the crowd. "What did I tell you people, first we shale win Bayou, then The South, then I will be standing up here as The President of this here fine nation," he joked. "Ladies and Gentlemen, we have suffered 6 years under The NLP, the party that wishes to put their interests over the rest of everyone else, they never wanted to work together, they wanted to win every damn seat in congress so they could control it. I say no more to that, despite being left of the aile of our good ol' friends at the Liberal-Conservatives, I wish to work with them, and The National Liberty Party. I do not wish to control a house, I wish for us to all peacefully exist in this house we call congress to work together rather then it be a free for all on who can get the most seats. It's time a YPTC congress man and a NLP congress man meet in the same room to talk out their differences and come to a resolution everyone can agree on! It's time we work together! And this goes to our international friends as well. For the past 6 years, The Commonwealth has been being selfish and doing whatever it pleases for it's own interests! Now it's time we work with the International Community so we can all get what we want!" Allen would say loudly. Allen continued on and on, letting other people speak as well. After the Inauguration, he got situated as his new job of President. His first order of business was tackling poor infrastructure in the Mid West and The South. These regions are known for their bad infrastructure, making the roads better, along with expansions in rail networks, people could get around easier. Which would benefit the economy. Allen also intended for the Oil Expansion to continue, with him setting up oil rigs on the Commonwealth Side of the Utralian Channel as well as expanding Oil Rigs in the gulf. On his findings, Allen came across the citizen surveillance plan. Without notifying anybody, he deemed it as "Unconstitutional" and signed executive orders to repeal it as fast as possible. Allen also reorganized his cabinet, wanting the 3 parties to work together, he got a equal number of YPTC, L-C and NLP in his cabinet. For now, a change in the nation's identity is expected.

RP 2004 Duma Elections
The day has finally come. It's the day where the people vote for the leader and Duma seats. As of today the Far East and city of Triso are unable to vote due to the current insurgency committed by the Dark Cohort and safety concerns by the Duma and governors. Police and solders had been seen more in the cities that are allowed to vote for protection and the results came as this. 8 Oblasts vote for T-CD, 6 Oblasts vote for FFP, 2 for FPP, 4 for a third party and 5 votes unable to be counted due to the current situation. The Head Councilor and Vice Councilor stayed the same alongside the Councilor of Foreign Affairs while the other seats changed. Seat changes once again changed this time it came out as this. T-CD 251, FFP 223, UF 151, NS 121, FPP 112. While the government of Fason is unsure for the future, Tomol Uiol promoises that he will lead Fason to greater heights and defeat the Dark Cohort in Fason

After years of war, it is realised that the weapons of the Rythican army are outclassed by the Texans so a new standard issue rifle is made, the HK-416.

RP Naval Armament Extension Act
In light of German Naval Rearmament, The Commonwealth has taken steps to stay ahead of Germany by massively ramping up naval production to stay ahead of them. Mainly focusing on updating old ships as well as producing new ones balance quality and quantity. The Commonwealth is seeking to buy licenses and help from San Cark in order to achieve this. Naval Expansion would be focused on The East Coast for state ran businesses while the West Coast, being easier to get too from other Ausdonian and Gargantuan countries would be the focus of private businesses working with The Government. The end goal is the same, For The Commonwealth to be ahead of Germany in every Naval Aspect, with President Allen calling the plan the "German Standard" The Commonwealth navy is focused on making battleships and cruisers with aircraft carriers as a secondary priority. The Commonwealth also wants to get better armaments for its ships.

“Now We need our Army back,”

Is the line President Wojniki penned at his speech on the end of the Bruvem economic recovery plan. With industry returning to usual and key investments in finance and retail sectors the economy has come roaring back just as the reform party said it would. This is good not only for the reform party which is pretty much guaranteed reelection in 2008, but the government as the new excess in wealth has allowed a pouring of funds into new programs.

Senate was called in to begin a voting phase to see what the new wealth would be spent on. An important topic was the military which at this point was worse for wear. A shadow of its former glory Bruvems Army, Navy, and Air Force really needed a tuneup. It was decided in a 54/23 vote in the senate that the military budget would be moved from just 13 Billion Bruvians to a major 250 Billion Bruvian annual budget. On top of this an additional package of 50 Billion was put forward to upgrade and repair bases around the nation as well as fix equipment.
