Our newest Council member, Senator for New Republica South The World Defense Organization, has been hard at work running debates in the Grand Debate Hall recently, prompting interesting discussions on a variety of topics:

This new segment of The Breaking Wave will feature the beloved pets of the 10000 Islands and A Taco Paradise.

This month Venvee Republic would like to introduce us to their red eared slider turtle, “Stretch”.

Stretch was found during Christmas week of 2016 and was named after the “Stretch” Cunningham character from the old sitcom All in the Family. Venvee is convinced that Stretch is secretly an previously-unheard of ninja turtle; the critter is an escape artist and has managed to flee his tank twice, once landing uninjured after a six foot fall from the fireplace mantle. (Venvee also notes that Stretch appears to be fascinated by fire.)

Stretch enjoys a nice shrimp snack and sunbathing on his rock for hours at a time. He also has a credit as a co-author for an MLA research paper, although his contributions were primarily motivation and morale boosting for the other (human) author.

As I’m sure you all know, NationState was down for about 10 days in April, apparently due to the catastrophic failure of one of their drives. While most data was recovered, trading card collections for the past year have been lost and, at the time of this writing, are unavailable.

The Mortimer Report is a summary of financial activity, including payouts for Islander investments, stocks, and any events that may have impacted these investments. It is released by the Regional Reserve each month and covers the previous month’s activities.

~ Rich List

The Rich List is a ranking of the most valuable Islander accounts, in Tacos, including both terrestrial and celestial assets. To make the rich list, start earning Tacos by taking a job that pays Tacos, participating in contests, and taking advantage of Taco Islands Charities generous incentives for new nations. Buy properties from the bank, invest in stocks, or start a business in the Marketplace, and watch your pile of Tacos grow!

~ Astrobolt needs an Emissary to Refugia and an Ambassador to The South Pacific to help maintain good relations and share information.

~ Astrobolt is also looking for a Secretary of State to help with the day-to-day matters of World Assembly resolution voting and discussion.

~ AxeCapital has an open req for Role Play Commissioner, responsible for enforcing RP rules and orderly behavior in the RP regions. This position comes with a generous monthly stipend.

~ Wille-Harlia is seeking Cultural Officers to help plan regional events.

~ Astrobolt is looking for a TIBOE Secretary. The Taco Island Brigade of Endorsers is responsible for keeping endorsement counts high, and the TIBOE Secretary reports to the Delegate on those counts. This position comes with a generous monthly stipend.

~ Lenlyvit is hiring a Cartographer-General to maintain the official XKI Map. This position comes with a generous monthly stipend.

~ Lenlyvit is also looking for a new Cards Co-op President, who will be responsible for managing the XKI Cards Cooperative. This position comes with a generous monthly stipend.
