Lol! I'll have to find them again. They were on a website dedicated to WW2 recipes. I don't think I'd be brave enough to cook them myself! One of the recipes I spotted was "potato peel pie" - damned if I would eat it, though I did watch the movie!

No plans to be a Frontier! I've never spent much time in the Pacifics, but I know they have 20 years experience with handling new nations, new players, and the inevitable undesirables. I don't have the patience for any of that. Though that is probably academic - frontiers are controlled by whoever is delegate, and I doubt that would be me for long!
I do think that places like Europeia will make good frontiers. They've a long history, and will have players that cross-over with GCRs. I expect them to provide a decent player experience. And The Wellspring looks promising. I think it's TNP players behind it.
But within hours of this all starting, there were 50, then 100 frontiers. And almost all of them had one nation and no delegate. It's kind of like a hundred people suddenly decided to found regions as a non-executive Founder - they can't even update the WFE, or set a welcome telegram. Crazy stuff.
Darwinism will take its course though, and things will settle into a pattern of established frontiers, planned frontiers, and these persistent "Darwinist" frontiers.
How are you finding it? A hundred new regions, and only a few can accept embassy requests?
Major news. I have recently been trying to improve my civil rights and political freedom. I have encountered some new issues. One separated my nation into districts( a lot like the US); the other changed my national classification! I went from a mother knows best state to a inoffensive centrist democracy. Major changes!
Looks like your strategy is working! Well done. It's been a while since I answered issues on this account. From what I remember I was answering issues pretty much in line with my own views, but I'm not entirely sure.

The latest The Hunger Games poll relates to me having found ants in my cereal box. I threw out the rest of the cereal.
In the UK, we eat certain kinds of mammal, fish, and bird. But we get squeamish when someone suggests we eat something out of the ordinary. Like dog. Or invertebrates. But other cultures are fine with things like deep fried tarantula, or chocolate coated ants.

So I felt compelled to finally start the second Wild Rumpus Book of Records. The first hadn't been updated for over two years - much longer than this version of the region has even existed. It's time to archive that old one.
Then I reckoned I needed to do the challenge again myself. I'm delighted to say I haven't lost my touch - ten minutes before my fingers slipped.

I try to filter out the new Frontiers without a WA Delegate. I have one of those zombie Frontiers without a WA Delegate. I didn’t fully understand the mechanics of the new regions when it was created.
I have eaten fried Cicada in China. Chocolate ants might be palatable.
I would say the Kardashians since they actually work for their wealth and influence. The Royals are simply born wealthy.

Foodbanks. Just thinking about them sends me into a rage. I did a volunteer day about four years back. Volunteering for a good cause should leave you feeling good. But this just left me feeling angry. The charities (like The Trussell Trust) have made their systems as efficient as they can. But it costs (say) £3 and a volunteer's time to deliver a package of food that the recipient might not really like. If that same £3 was added to a Social Security cheque, then the recipient could buy what they actually wanted to eat, and the volunteer could spend their time on a different cause.
I have friends that work full time, yet have still had to use foodbanks. The system is broken, and needs fixed.
So, faced with a choice of food parcels, which would you choose?
Yeah, I've got to agree with that. Although the whole Kardashian thing seems pretty vacuous to me, they do put in the mileage.
Ah! Fun times! I spent the afternoon boiling the rotting corpse of a hare.
Someone found this dead hare, very decomposed, and wanted the skeleton. Apparently boiling it to try and get rid of the meat/skin etc is the way forward. So we got an old tin tub, big enough to fit the corpse, and set it up in the woods near the house, over an open fire. We covered it with boiled water from the kettle, and added biological washing powder for good measure.
There was a lot of gunk (and fat maggots) that floated to the surface, and I scooped it off with a stick. We left it bubbling for a few hours. The water is opaque but you can tell that there are still grizzly bits attached to some bones. We'll check it again tomorrow after the water has cooled. I think there's going to be more work involved. I doubt it would have been that easy.
The smell was weird. Initially there was the smell of rotten hare, but later it was like a mix of smokey stew and launderette. Weird.
Yeah, there's still a lot of grizzly bits on that skeleton. I think this is going to be a hands-on job. Yuk. I think a pair of rubber gloves will be needed!
Hmm. I should be most of the way through writing the June Wild Life, but I'm not feeling in the mood at all just now. The intention is there, but I'm just unable to concentrate. I've a story in early draft form, another that's just notes, and a third that's still just a thought. I might just skip June, and see if I can get some enthusiasm in time for July. We'll see. I may surprise myself.
I understand how you feel. I have several ideas for the issues contest, but simply lack the motivation to go through the submission process.

I've got a lot of respect for issues writers. I gave it a try, and it wasn't at all easy. As issue-answerer, it seems straight forward. You click an answer, and get a witty outcome. As if a joke had been set up and the punchline delivered. But for the writer, you need to think up multiple punchlines for the joke. That's hard work!

I enjoyed this tale(tail). Always assumed boiling remains would clean a skeleton, but I guess there's more to it. You could get those beetles that scientists sometimes use to clean off bones :P
Growing up in the country, various family members would sometimes bring back animal remains found in the woods. Shed antlers, feathers, shells, all manner of bones, teeth, sometimes a full bird or frog skeleton. Those sorts of things. But one time our freezer contained four sadly deceased baby bunnies, seemingly having frozen to death and discovered huddled together, but now all tucked into a rag and closed up in an unmarked ziploc bag. You'd be rooting through the freezer, seeing what frozen meats were in there, and come upon this random bag and think, 'Oh! What's in here?' then open it up and find these poor dead bunnies. 'Oh, right...'
Something obviously happened to the mother bunny. Otherwise, she would have kept the babies warm through the cold night with her body.
I realised I'm taking time off from NS just now. I've paid it no real attention for a few weeks. I've some RL stuff I need to figure out, then maybe I'll get my concentration back!

By the way, I read your post on the Forums concerning the Recruiter Friendly tag. The Embassy added it to its WFE. The Mods have never liked the embassy collectors, and they were the regions that most used that tag, so they just eliminated it!
I watched that JoJo Rabbit movie tonight (though I should have been doing other stuff).
I enjoyed it. But...
The plot was good enough, but presented in a light-hearted, jokey way. Given the setting, the characters, and their interactions, I think I would have preferred a darker, more intense style.
