The sense of shock and fear since the Japan-America war that took place 4 years ago has come back with Japan’s statement of wanting to get Southeast Asia which has been an American interest since the 19th century. This could also be able to help the Philippines in this regard as they are likely to be Japanese targets.

The Governor-General and the Prime Minister arrive in Manilla as soon as possible onboard the HMAY Alexandra, one of the former Royal yachts that has since been converted into use as the Australian Government’s yacht.

The Australian Government advises that it is prepared and ready to go to war, if needed, but would prefer to join only if the Empire is threatened, and suggest that the best course of action it to wait to see what happens.
