The news of war has reached the ears of the King and his Government. The Ministry of Defense, under Lord Kitchener, was recently granted conscription by the Parliament, fearing the possibility of Japanese or even a surprise German invasion of the Philippine Island. The Government has issued a declaration of neutrality, awaiting for any fellow great powers to ask them to support their cause.
