Region: Lezra

Alright everyone, it has come to my attention that a few people here are a bit mistaken about the bill.

Balticonia wrote:I stand strongly against the proposed merger. First of all, Rhinia demands we move to their region. This would kill our roleplay if we left our home rmb. This is hardly short of an annexation! Secondly, Rhinia would have most of the government power. I think we all enjoy the autonomy we have in Lezra. I do support closer ties with Rhinia, and I have continually argued for a better deal, but as it stands, I am decisively against the merger

Rhinia does not demand we move, we simply thought it would be a better idea than moving here (we have a greater population, been around longer and handle government stuff much better). There is another alternative we were about to bring out to the regional move too, but the biggest stumbling block here is the hardheadedness of some of your leaders who would not listen to us at times.

"this would kill our roleplay if it left our RMB" - I highly doubt that, in fact it would increase the number of nations participating. On top of that there is the option of just moving regions and keeping RP here or not much harm in just starting again with 10 extra nations participating.

We will certainly not have the most government power, in fact I am stepping down from deputy PM and Barlomia is likely to step down from PM meaning one of you will almost certainly be the first PM after the merger and likely for a long time after.

You did not argue for a better deal, you kept banging on about RP being hurt when we are also making big sacrifices to make this happen.

There is no need for a merger between Lezra and RHINIA. RHINIA has 30 members. We have 28. And we are wayyyyyyyy more active than RHINIA. It makes no sense to have a merger. I don't think I need to say much more. It just doesn't make sense. And more importantly, the merger bill states that an elected RP council will decide the setting and date of the RP, meaning that this RP that we currently have going will most likely be overridden. For me that's... no. I don't think we should sacrifice this region, it's RP and its history just because we have 2 fewer members than RHINIA. This bill and the merger entirely wasn't even approved by Austronta as it says only The santland approved it. And more importantly, neither did Sparkhill and this is his region. He should decide whether there should be a merger or not. He can't stop us from leaving this region, but if we are going to have a professional merger with a bill and everything, the founder of Lezra should have a say. It just doesn't make sense for this merger to happen, it's not worth the sacrifices and the fact that neither Sparkhill nor Austronta approved the bill makes me question its legitimacy.

Sure you could say that about the 28 and 30 nations but wouldnt it be better to have a region with 60 odd nations? This would increase our exponential growth significantly.

In my mind anyway, this bill makes perfect sense, we horrible at keeping RP and your weak spot is definitely government, we did not pick you guys to ask for no reason.

I am not gonna lie, you are definitely more active than us, but that is only because you have a roleplay and active roleplayers, ours is just friendly conversation and banter atm.

The RP council is to be made up of 4 Lezrans and 1 Rhinian, it is listed in the bill. You decide what happens with the RP and we basically have no input. How is that going to be overridden.

Sparkill is also our founder (tetros), he is inactive and simply does not care about either region. You said so yourselves during discussion (you have his email if you need him to log on). The fact that he does not care means that I think he should not get a vote.

Austronta was in support of this bill too during negotiations. Now that I have rebutted the false claims of these two who simply want what they prefer rather than what is best for both regions moving forward.

Sorry if I came off a bit aggressive here, I don't mean to. Just that the only two who disagreed with the bill were never on during negotiations and would not listen to any compromise anyone came up with.
