Region: The Hole To Hide In

Blayredeshia wrote:RP: Northern Tactics
Given the terrain of The gatisland’s northern provinces reports have varied suggesting that the Blayredeshians will resort to using their preferred tactic of using an armored spearhead followed up by infantry in order to drive deeper into northern lands although carpetbombing and heavy artillery strikes are still expected for more deeply entrenched positions. Many suspect General Karloff is attempting to seize territory for himself so that the Nationalist League can set up a neutral zone as to not cause tensions between the NRM and Mesnyists especially as the nationalists draw closer and closer to Therveux.

RP: Aid is appreciated
The Augustine Junta has decided to give League forces control over certain zones, designating several recently conquered areas that the Nationalist forces have issue controlling (either due to it's rebelliousness or remoteness) that will be garrisoned by League forces until the end of the conflict.

With Icewindian Troops under Command of Blayredeshia the Icewindian Airforce has arrived and begins to construct there own Airbases first as Dirt Strips next to High Quality airbases under construction. Bombers fly day and Night with Fighter Escorts heading deep into Enemy lines. There Targets is Power Stations, Water Treatment Facilities and Infrastructure.

Operation Stone Age is a go.

For the Operation 150 Bombers and 400 Fighters are escorts. When the Concrete airbases are done they will be able to host 4,000 Bombers and alot more Fighters though this will take a year to finish. Icewindia is heavily investing into a Bombing Program to cripple not just the Northern Government but civilization itself. Icewindia has no sympathy to Communist/Socialist scum and would rather see the North fall into Anarchy and beg to Join Nationalists then let Young Socialists sneak back into Nationalists unaffected only to drip there poisen once more 4 decades from now.

RP: Bombs
Though the Nationalists are uneasy about the operation, they let it go ahead in an attempt to drain northern morale. They also propose creating a unified air command between Blayredeshia, Icewindia and the small but growing Nationalist Air Force

Earlier today, Prime Minister Juan Eva pledged to remain neutral on the tension between the The gatisland and Blayredeshia, but he also said that he is willing to send humanitarian and medical aid to its TNL counterpart. Eva's government stays loyal to the Nakatoro Treaty which is still valid up to this day. However, Queen Antonina reaches for a ceasefire between the two glorious nations of Kalrania.

RP: A cease-fire?
While the federal government has entertained the idea of a cease fire and spoken of it's possibility, the nationalist Augustine Junta has refused a cease fire in the present. Claiming that such action "would only buy time that the scheming northern socialists do not deserve" and has refused a cease fire at the present moment.

RP: The Offensive Swings East
The Mec II offensive has been incredibly succesful in leveraging league support and airpower for immense gains for Nationalist forces. The nationalists now appear to be making a play for the east as the bulk of the advance has been eastward towards the Paysanie province and southeastern Vossefaire province. This new part of the offensive appears to be pressure on the remaining socialist forces in the east of the country to surrender as the north of Ourandois remains under socialist control despite repeated attempts from Tiberi to push past the Black Mountain's pass. The new offensive has leveraged the ever flattening terrain of the Gatisian north to use mechanized forces from Blayredeshia to drive a wedge through socialist forces. The mechanized forces quickly pushed through much of Paysanie, pushing back it's demoralized and thinning garrison and capturing most of it's territory. The gains here have increased the role that Gaultier province plays as they are now the only socialist controlled zone connecting northern Ourandois to the north with it's section of the national highway becoming a "road of life" for the socialists as it remains the only reliable way to ferry supplies and soldiers to the battered north as the east slips further from their grasp. In Vossefaire the nationalists managed to push further towards the former socialist capital of Therveux (Currently occupied by Mayor Garreau and his free zone) taking more land in it's southern half however they were stopped by a contingent of Gatisian armour divisions from pushing further and the socialists still hold the small contingent of land south of the city, though the forces there remain in an incredibly precarious position.

RP: Paysanie province surrenders
With the capture of much of Paysanie's land, the socialist governor of the province has announced his signing of an armistice with the local League commanders and a representative of the Augustine Junta, declaring that "Paysanie can no longer continue to labour under the pain of conflict and must put the pieces back together and continue on the road to prosperity". In the stipulations of the armistice, Paysanie will now fully be occupied by league forces and will be governed by an appointed military commander that will govern the region and it's affairs and the governor shall order that all of the Agrarien militias in the province must disarm and hand over their arms to the new occupying force. Though the resolution has been welcomed by the Augustine Junta, the federal government has decried the surrender and announced it will continue to occupy the east of the province as it sees the armistice as illegitimate. Though not all of the province was gained, the forcing of a provincial authority to it's knees is an important political victory against the government.

RP: Yirvaire Pocket Falls
The obstinate pocket of pro-GDF towns in the southwest of the country has, despite their best efforts, fallen to a nationalist force. Though they were able to repulse them before, the fury of federal nationalist leadership over the defeat of their forces against under-equipped civilian militias seems to have bested them. The force of 3000 soldiers escorted by 50 fighters from the nationalist air force swept through the small pocket of resistance, declaring the area liberated after a scattered series of clashes over a 13 hour period with the local leadership who declared the area for the GDF fleeing across the border in fear of retaliation as the white gold and blue banner flew from the tops of the city halls as the newest gain for the nationalists is secured.

RP: The Stage Is Set
With Therveux is practical spitting distance of Nationalist forces, both sides eye the young free zone which has protected most of the city from the bombing campaigns of the League but which the capture of would immensely benefit each side. The city is important not only for the propaganda value of holding the largest city in the country and all it's iconic monuments, but as well as the city's thick outer walls present as for the government they could be a great lynchpin for a defensive line they hope will help them hold the north of the country as winter sets in and makes the recent mechanized offensives more difficult. But for the nationalists, the iconic Garabien bridge presents a golden opportunity to easily ferry armoured units north which will help them bypass the northern edge of the center valley and make their way into the northern agricultural flatlands. As both sides peer at each other through the gathering fog, both bide their time to see who will violate the free zone first and begin possibly the most important confrontation of the war.

The Republic of The Gatisland
Leader: President Mesny
Alliance: Augustine Junta
The king across the pond has come home. Exiled following his disgrace and ejection from power, President Mesny has used his position as head of the government in exile in Salis and his continued harsh critiques of the socialist government to gain both support and financial backing for the insurgent militias on the exiled government’s payroll from the wealthy community of Gatisian exiles. Now that he has returned he faces the task of a bloody campaign north and a need to regain the popular support of the people as well as the younger guard of the movement to further his aims.

National Republican Militia
Leader: Armel Marrast
Alliance: Augustine Junta
“L’armee d’Armel” as it is often jokingly referred to, represents the young guard of the nationalist movement. Arising years after the revolution as a radical student group in the Southern Agricultural University, the group separated itself from the mainstream Mesnyist groups for it’s syncretic ideology that attempts to meld corporatistic economics with traditionalist social views. Driven underground, the group found new life as their charismatic leader Armel Marrast molded it into a powerful group of militias which aims to achieve Marrast’s “Nouvel État”. Though they have cooperated with Mesny so far, the two groups often view each other with suspicion and are only united by their hatred of the central government, though even this alliance may have it’s limits.

The Socialist Federation of The Gatisland
Leader: President Pro-Tempore Charles Barthet
Shaken by a multitude of crises, the socialist central government is in dire straits, with a financial and domestic crises creating the biggest threat to the post-revolution politics and the Cazalite policies that have been implemented in its wake. Governing from Therveux, the government has attempted to further industrialise the country while pursuing a more internationalist foreign policy, though the nationalist threat has only since escalated. Barthet has managed to evade the total collapse of the federation, but the loss of southern control has already shaken confidence in his administration, and it seems unlikely he will remain as president. The units of the remainder of the federal army have professional training and equipment stockpiles, but their tactics must be chosen carefully to best the tenacity of the rebels. The government must choose a new leader and will try to manage both domestic and international relations to ensure that the federation shall not die how it was born.

Gatisian Democratic Forces
Leader: Governor Robert Marais, Jordi Calet
A union borne of need, the Gatisian Democratic Forces are a collection of irregular ethnic militias and federal police and army units which have been coalesced to defend the areas of Galtier province and the Mardoba River Autonomous Region. Though recently established the new players in the much changed political landscape of Gatisia have managed to maintain control over their claimed area and have repulsed the minor incursions made by nationalist fighters. Governed from Edennes, the newly minted proto-state is governed by a political diarchy of each entity’s leader in an attempt to balance this new union which for now remains a defensive pact against the Mesnyists but could turn into a more aggressive force for change and democracy should the sands shift in their favour.

Therveux Free Zone
Leader: Armel Garreau
Armel did not wish this upon Therveux, but his hands were forced after some of the worst communal violence the city had seen since the revolution broke out and exposed the deep divisons in the city. After he saw the government continue down a path of "pacification" he saw as suicidal and counterproductive he has declared the capital a "free zone". Though the declaration has given the city a much needed respite from the clashes and violence that have been tearing at it's once famous stability, the pressure on the new administration is great. The ire he has raised in the north is great and the nationalists have only since been emboldened by his concessions towards them which threatens to break Armel's dream of a peaceful and prosperous city at every step his administration takes.

The Nationalist Government of Ourandois
Leader: Armand Tiberi
Alliance: Augustine Junta
Tiberi had though his career in politics was over. After stepping down following two terms as the popular elected governor of the province of Ourandois. He retired to his summer cabin in the southeast of the province, expecting a quiet retirement. When public opinion turned against the political right following the Wheat-Stalk Revolution, Tiberi fled to Salis. There he settled in a majority Gatisian exile neighborhood and attempted to live a quite life, initially refusing to return and support a faction due to his centrist leanings and dissatisfaction with the beliefs of the various insurrectionists. It is perhaps this centrism is the reason that the two nationalist factions picked him for their great gamble. Though his popularity seems to have won him control of the south of his province, it is not a job he wants and he now faces the task of juggling the influence of the two factions who forced his return as well as scrutiny to attempt to present his government to the wider country and world as something other than a weak nationalist puppet.
