RP: The Rivertown Trials

Following the dismantling of the Holy Republic, the recently reestablished Commonwealth has arranged a series of trials to be held in Rivertown to determine the fate of the Priests and Bishops responsible for the massacres and untold destruction to Schismian infrastructure. Of those convicted, nearly all of them were leading members of the Shangralorian or Schismianitian Churches, already placing the Commonwealth's recently adopted policy of religious tolerance in a precarious balance. Nevertheless, several dozen archbishops, priests, and cardinals were condemned to death for their crimes. As the sentencing drew to a close, the attention of the nation fell upon the High Priestess of the Church of Shangralore herself, Svteaer Poololueksei. The secret daughter of former Queen Flair Ts'dale, Svteaer was invited to join a Shangralorian Monastery at a young age where she trained to become a priestess. Following the Shangralorian Church exiling High Priest Schueiold Acheolol for proposing radical reformations, Svteaer was elected High Priestess where she aided in uniting the church with the Schismanity Church--creating the Dual Church--and directly led the revolution to overthrow the Commonwealth after assassinating her mother. Under her rule, Svteaer outlawed settlement in the Northern Schism, declaring all residents of the region to be heretics and ordering her soldiers to raze entire cities to the ground.

Though she was arrested by Liranaholm authorities early in her reign, the legacy she left in the Atomic Schism has been undeniable. However, unlike many of the clergy over the course of the trials, Svteaer's fate was not decided by a small jury, but rather by the whole population of the Atomic Schism itself. After nearly a week of the so-called "Election of Death," Svteaer was officially declared guilty, 9,232,561-to-11. Despite a minor controversy regarding the authenticity of such numbers, Svteaer Poololueksei was executed by a firing squad. Her last words were recorded,

"To die for the entertainment of Shangralore and his compatriots, I could have predicted such an occurrence. But, I do not fear what is written in the forum. My fear does not exist anyways."

RP: Survivors Guilt

With the conclusion of the trials, normal life (or what can be considered normal) has begun once more in the Atomic Schism. Though the Holy Republic is gone, and the Dual Church is no more, discussions of theocracy continue to be whispered in fear their words may drive a curse across the land. The war has brought great change to the Atomic Schism, with religion steadily drifting from the focus of many Schismians, especially the youth. Shangralorian Temples slowly grow empty, Schismanity and Catholic Churches lay vacant as a new generation has grown to live with the weight of 11 million dead on their shoulders. However, this guilt has weighed even more heavily on citizens who took part in the Schism's Scouring. Following the trials, suicide rates briefly shot up across the Borderlands as the nation, after ten years of moral chaos, finally begins to grieve for the dead. The new Commonwealth government has created a national holiday, in remembrance, and in hope that such tragedies will never befall in the Atomic Schism ever again.

RP: The Second Colonization

Reconstruction underway, the Commonwealth has seen the need to begin recolonizing lost territories immediately for the sake of the millions unemployed and to diminish the increasing debt of the nation. Beginning with the recently destroyed cities of Deseast, the millions of displaced Forwestians have once more journeyed across the nation to find work and shelter, but this time with support and protection from the government. Already, the Commonwealth has begun the cultivation of the oil in south Deseast for transport to Basaran to fulfill their end of the deal. Further west, volunteers have entered provincial Forwest to contact the region's survivors to inform them of recent events and begin reclamation as there as well. Similar parties have been sent into and past the Schismian mountains to begin the reconstruction of the Northern Schism's towns and villages. President Sózei has assured the populace that though it is a grand undertaking and may cost some dearly, it is necessary for the restoration of prosperity in the Atomic Schism.
