HITLER'S BERGHOF WILL NOT BE REBUILT - DECISION CONFIRMED BY THE MINISTRY OF INTERIOR

BERLIN - The Association for Historical Monuments, a radical right wing historical association, calls the decision an "insult to history". Its president, Martin Vernot declared upon receiving the news

"Scheffner's Government is one that doesn't respect history and tries to hide it. The Berghof was the symbol of nazi power. Its not a propaganda place. Its part of the history of Germany because many decisions of power were made there. Otherwise, we might as well destroy everything the nazi regime did. Either we do it completely or we don't."

The case of the Berghof is one that dates since the debate to maintain it or destroy it. The Government of Zeiss decided to keep the building as a monument of dicatatorship. But in 1953, the Socialist government of Dieter Sieling decided to take down the site to avoid its reputation as a sanctuary for neo-nazis.

Since this decision, many have tried to restore the place as a monument with the same rank as the concentration camps of Auscwhitz, Buchenwald or Dachau. But the governments after Sieling decided to not take care of the issue. And recently, either Erman, Vernermann, Limburg did not take any measure about such a sensitive topic.

Yet again, there is a tension between history and safety. The decision will be appealed in front of the Verwaltungsgericht Gotha in front of a judge that may overrule the decision of the Scheffner Governement.

ICE 4 TRAINS TAKES ORDERS IN EGYPT AND SPAIN

Madrid - It was a bright day for Siemens and RENFE as the two companies sign the contract in Madrid with full celebrations for the new ICE 4 high speed trains to join the Spanish highspeed network.

Suprisingly, a month later came an order from the Egyptian railways from 8 new ICE 4 trains.

This start makes a new ray of optimism in Germany. There was cause for concern after the terrible debacle of the ICE 3-E train sold only to two countries and with bad records in terms of maintenance. Siemens hopes to give investors a guarantee that the mishap of the ICE 3-E was only temporary. Only time will tell...
