[- Overview -]

The middle-sister of the Miotoshi family, and the most mature, yet social and civil of the three... Osmo is one of the most easily understood of the three, and also the most balanced. Though, she is still secretive, and a number of things aren't known about her. Enough is known, to provide a timeline, and explain who she is. But to most, they won't get that far to know who she is, as she's effectively buried much of the papertrail... despite efforts of investigation against her.

[- Birth and Early Life | 1992-1997 -]

Born on the 21st of April, 1992, to an extremely wealthy, but heavily secretive family, that had until that point been fairly conservative and extremely careful about it's money... and avoiding government requisitions, Osmo's life had already quite clearly been set to be nothing like that of an ordinary citizen.
She was born within a childcare ward of the Daisto District Hospital, of the City of Imakii, and was quite promptly taken away by her parents, the patriarch and matriarch of the Miotoshi family, away to their secluded, and fairly 'normal' home, on the outskirts of the city. Being the second child, she was considered less important than her elder sister, Otomiisiki, who was born early enough that when Osmo came into her life, she acted as a student and child to her, at least in her earliest days.
She was considered a fairly bright child, even in those years. Being social, but also holding other interests. It was during these first years that it seemed she gained an affinity being curious, especially when it came to the limited electronics of the household, and whatever the family had forgotten to put away when busy with their other child.

It was only when she grew to being 3 years old, that she started displaying more of her intelligence and affinity. She picked up words significantly faster than her older sister, who had been an extremely quiet and reluctant speaker, compared to the confidence that she displayed, and the coherent sentences that she could string together, which were extremely impressive for a child of her age.
Though, she also took a far more severe interest in technology, and seemed deeply infatuated by any that she could get ahold of... which naturally led to her parents taking notice, and looking into ways to exploit it.

Despite being the second child, she was not exactly neglected from the designs of her parents. They were already thinking of how their family name could continue, and what would serve them best. As an example, in 1994, Osmo's elder sister, Otomiisiki, was sent off to a military boarding school at the age of 6, due to her quiet, and generally passive and subservient nature. It was decided that she'd be best just joining the military, and living the life as a soldier, or sailor, depending on where she ended up.
Osmo on the other hand, ended up being directed towards a far different education source. The City of Kazo, otherwise known as the Technocratic Municipality of Kazo, had a large number of education centers... and it was Kazo, that Osmo ended up being sent to. At merely the age of 5 in 1997, Osmo was sent off to the 'Kazo Institute of Learning for Gifted Minds', an expensive, somewhat-private school, that had managed to persist in the municipality due to outdated laws and regulations. It was here, that she started her education.

[- Educational Life | 1997- 2002 -]

Osmo's time within 'KILGM' was not as easy as it would have first appeared. Despite having a higher-than-average intelligence by quite a margin, and having an affinity for picking up things, she was simply not perfect in every way. It was a hard start for her, as she wasn't prepared for the strict, perfectionist environment at first. However, what she lacked for in preparation she made up for in determination and confidence. She didn't run away, or give up, and instead took to adapting to the environment around her. Which, unlike a number of her peers, who gave up and abandoned ship part-way through the introductory phase, meant that she stuck through until the end. Which came as a surprise to her teachers, especially as they had not anticipated such an under-prepared girl to be ready for the environment that existed within the institute.

Once she slogged her way through the introductory phase, she quickly solidified her position in the matters of social, language, and mathematical classes. Though she still showed a deep affinity for technology, which the institute had in spades... which came to be a source of good, and bad. Osmo became known to tunnel-vision when given access to technology, or told to work on projects that referenced technology whatsoever, resulting in mixed results. Osmo was a deep failure when it came to scientific pursuits like chemistry or physics... but any time she had to do anything involved with electronics, she consistently found herself getting perfect marks, and even being used as an example for other students, as she got older... and even occasionally got in trouble for taking on a group project by herself, and letting nobody else do the work.

Though, despite those marks in electronics-related material, and her efforts overall... her science grades were far below passing, while the rest of her classes were roughly close behind her electronics marks, which meant that in the end she was denied any kind of awards for science marks, as they simply weren't good enough for the institute's staff. Though it didn't entirely escape notice... nor, did the affinity for economics... and soft spot for the small internal parks of Kazo. While she couldn't be perfect, she gained the attention of a group of officials visiting to scout out possible students for a high-class institution that partnered with KILGM.

[- Educational Mastery | 2002- 2006 -]

Upon graduation form the KILGM, she, and her parents, were approached by representatives from the 'Central Federal Institute for Advanced Electronics and Programming', who told them in no uncertain terms, that Osmo was perfect for their curriculum and educational setting, and offered Osmo a position in the institute, despite being only 10 by this point. Despite the concerns of her parents, they agreed, thinking that Osmo might just fall out of the institute, and amount to have wasted her time in the institution. Though, as it would turn out, this would become a very, very false view of things.

Where she had struggled in KILGM, she excelled in her new position. Assigned at first to a general class, she was quick to be identified as an extremely capable coder, and an excellent software tester and programmer, meaning that only three months into her efforts, she was immediately shifted from general education, specifically to software and coding... where she found herself competing with individuals twenty or even thirty years old, compared to her young and childish self. Though, which she was a mere child, she was an extremely successful and capable child, with the institute finding themselves baffled to find that Osmo was not only equal to their older students, but frankly superior... and even seemed quite happy to help those who were struggling a lot more.
In her own words, at the time, "competition is no good if you can't help others from the results!", which was... met with confusion by the institute, and was discouraged, unsuccessfully.

It only took until 2006, before the institute had exhausted the whole curriculum, of both low level and high level coding and software development, leaving Osmo to end up being considered one of CFIAEP's greatest students... and most highly decorated of all students, due to this. She even got noticed by the then-director of the Kazo Board of Education, Yikai Osuri, who was known for being extremely critical of any small mistake...
...of which he found very few in the young girl's work. She was given private congratulations, as her parents requested that this be kept private... due to 'supposed' risks they brought up, that Osmo's educational success might cause the government to step in and rip her away for their own purposes. Yikai agreed, and which Osmo took the praise well, she was not the type to bask in the spotlight, and was very calm and friendly about it all, without letting it go to her head. Once the congratulations were concluded... and Osmo provided a direct certificate of commendation by the board of education, her parents realized just how different she was turning out from her older sister... and how important that would be for the future.

[- Foundations of the future | 2006 - 2008 -]

Upon Osmo graduating, at the age of 14... her parents decided that it was time for her to change pace, and begin setting the foundations for the future of the family.
This meant, Osmo was allowed to see the true wealth of the family, as well as the connections and friends that they had made along the way. It was an extensive network, and an extremely powerful one... but, one that was rotting away, as the government began to root out families like the Miotoshi family. Businesses were being seized, and assets nationalized... meaning that the family didn't have long before it ended up collapsing, and becoming just another low-class family... or being arrested for being "capitalist leeches", as the current government would have possibly put it.

This meant that Osmo and the family, including Osmo's youngest sister, Miio, moved out of Imakii and Hii respectively, and moved to an area of the country known as "Special Municipal Zone #17"
Otomiisiki joined them, at 18 years of age. While she had been able to make herself useful in the military during her time there, and being considered an extremely good soldier... she had no loyalty to the armed forces, and hated interacting with the team she was assigned to. Thus, returning to her family was an extremely positive event... and, it allowed her to realize just how much her middle-sister had advanced...
Osmo had advanced so far, in fact, that the family trusted her to be the one to lead the plan that they had established.
Here, in SMZ-#17, is where they would found the next stage of their legacy... and where they would uproot the previous stages and vestiges of the family's wealth and influence.
The family was putting all of their trust in Osmo, at the time... and it was a gamble that didn't succeed for a good number of them, as their sacrifices came at the cost of making them vulnerable to the federal government... and it's requisition demands.

Osmo, with the help of Otomiisiki, and the youngest sister, Miio, charted out an extremely ambitious plan... that would take the entire family's wealth, and pool it all into one, single, project.
Myotoshi. A plan that would take two years to even get off the ground... and a plan that sacrificed many untold scores of resources and funding, that were identified to be missing by the G.O.E.S. system... a development that had begun to hasten the decline of the Miotoshi family all the more rapidly.

It was a plan that originally only encompassed Osmo's strength, though as the two-year plan went on... it was changed for the better, including the other two, and changing the purpose of the plan entirely. Instead of simply being "the legacy of Miotoshi", it would become something else in it's own right. A company dedicated to the interests and beliefs of the three leading members, the three sisters that would hold leadership and control over three equal parts... with Osmo taking the reigns as the executive officer, as well as the one controlling the largest part of the company.

By the time of it's completion, the founding of multiple small towns and villages, and the hiring of the first batches of employees that the family could call upon, the company's first facility, and assembly plant, were all rolled into one, primary facility.

[- Growth | 2008 - 2010 -]

The cost of the project had been nearly the entire Miotoshi family, including the parents of the three sisters, and most of the individuals that had sunk all their resources into the company. Either having died due to age, or illness, as they were becoming nothing but a relic of the past, or having been apprehended and 'dealt with' by the government in a secretive fashion... however, the costs were outweighed by what was now perhaps the most expensive, largest, and most critical facility in the history of municipal private industry.

Osmo, as it's new owner and executive... got to work. While she could not simply... reveal the company, due to the government's likely efforts to crush it. She could, and would, start building a customer base, behind the government's back, due to it's blind faith in G.O.E.S... perhaps the most ineffective and inefficient economic control system to be devised for the modern world.
Primarily, her first goals were to set up the systems of distribution that a company would need... and to ensure that products could actually reach people, without the government becoming aware of her. She didn't wish to share the fate of the rest of her family...

So, in a stroke of genius, she decided that the company would... 'handle' that, by working under the shadow of G.O.E.S itself. It wasn't the most secure and tamper-proof system, and Osmo herself, would be the one to display this in it's ultimate glory.
Over the course of two years, as she developed, and became especially capable in programming, she quietly and secretly used a backdoor from a local G.O.E.S node, and made changes to the central system. At first, she programmed a blind-spot in the system... but as the company continued and continued to grow, at a rate that Osmo had not expected... she decided to rework G.O.E.S from the ground up, while managing the company as best as she could with the other half of her time. Her efforts were spent perfecting a new system... a much more efficient system.
She would end up working in a 'tolerance' to her company, and would be able to request resources from the system while also reporting the use of those resources, splitting it up into small sub-departments, the system didn't raise a single alarm, until 2010, when the new government was elected... then, came problems.

[- Battling for a future | 2010 - 2015 -]

In 2010, when the new government, under an individual known as 'Cetiri' came around... the playing field changed. While she was softer, and calmer towards private industry at large... and a lot more reluctant to simply crush the freedom to conduct business as pleased, she was not the type to tolerate a company like Myotoshi... that had grown significantly, and managed to cut a swathe into every market of software and hardware possible... and would have even less tolerance of a company that modified the G.O.E.S system.

It was that fact, that started a 5 year long battle, with Osmo leading it.
It started with fighting off attempts to reprogram the G.O.E.S. system, and attempts to catch and shutter the corporation and it's facilities. It started with internalizing most services so the company couldn't be separated from it's needs, and so that the government couldn't trace it down by looking for where power and water went...
...though, sabotaging this, was the establishment of the Ustioka City Cluster, which allowed the government to detect where the company was hiding it's headquarters and largest facility.
Osmo was thus, forced, to follow a different path.
Stressed, and anxious, as the years rolled around... as time reached 2014, Osmo decided to be more brave and bold... and decided to do something a lot more dangerous, but perhaps advantageous at the same time.

In 2014, Osmo, with the help of other company programmers, reprogrammed G.O.E.S. once more, radically changing how it operated code-wise, and increasingly tying the company into the system... making it much harder to expel and purge the company, despite the efforts of the country to do so...
...though the system was also streamlined and extremely modernized, and operated with far less latency and difficulty than before, hitting the government with the problem of the company having actually helped... a masterful stroke by Osmo, and an extremely critical one, that saved her life, whereas previously she was already considered a criminal for messing with the system in the first place.

In 2015, a year after these changes... and after Osmo nervously awaited the day where the government simply kicked down the door to her facility, or nationalized the assets she was working with...
...she got the opposite of that. Instead, she got something else.
The government admitted defeat, and promptly gave in. Though, it did move to prevent other companies like Myotoshi from growing up in the shadow of G.O.E.S... and, struck a deal with Osmo directly... one that struck a compromise... and worked to Osmo's interests, as she never really wanted to attack the socialist system... as she revealed during negotiations.

[- Survival, and Thriving | 2016 - Present -]

Osmo was instrumental in negotiating an agreement with the Primary Governor... using her sincerity and logic, as opposed to anything else, to appeal to the governor and her fairly strict and stern temperament.
She was all too happy to accept massive regulations, and accept responsibility for damage and disruptions made by the company's creation... and meddling in G.O.E.S.
However, she also secured an agreement to assist in reprogramming the system further, and holds an extremely high opinion of the governor... besides that, whenever she wasn't trying to keep the company alive, she was trying to take care of her workers... with the borderline-war now over, she was able to comfortably increase those efforts.
She helped motivate staff, and push them to do their best, while also being friendly and helpful in her own right, she helped her sisters get used to their lives a bit more... and taught them how to handle their own affairs... and most of all. She started sinking her personal wealth into the company, and into cities and regions elsewhere in the country... being public and transparent in these efforts, and becoming the public face of the company due to this.

Some incidents shook her resolve, and others nearly brought the company to it's knees, recent or not, Osmo refuses to let them shake her until she's broken, and she refuses to let the company die, or so much as stray from what she believes to be it's true goals...
...with her family no longer a factor, aside from her sisters, she was freer to mold the company into something she desired. Into a company that helped both the public and the government, a company that was motivated to chase perfection, for all. Not simply perfection for the sake of money, but for the sake of improving lives, and ensuring free and fair existences for everyone who finds residence inside the MoA.

As a result of this, and as a result of the fact that she's refused to sell her company to shareholders, or become another simple corporate suit... she's managed to preserve her name, and the family's name, up until this point.... and she intends to continue that long beyond the present... until the day she and her sisters die.

[- Ideology -]

Ideologically, Osmo is extremely mixed. Despite being a capitalist, she despises the idea of unchained and unregulated capitalism, and despises the idea of unregulated industry and progress. She is the type to hold herself and others accountable, and also the type to quickly criticize herself and others, for doing damage to the environment or to people who simply do not deserve it, and can be avoided.
She believes that people all deserve the same rights and freedoms, that there's no right for companies or governments to suppress and withhold human rights... though she also believes that minimal government and minimal corporate structures will amount to nothing. In her beliefs, a balance is needed... and, a balance that respects the people, the environment, and the idea of unified, beneficial progress.

She sees no problem with the socialist system that nearly destroyed her, or her family... as her family was not free of crime and opportunism, and as the system is not inherently evil, only the governments that used the system as a club.
She hopes that her company and the system can coexist, and she intends to never allow the company to destroy the system, regardless of what happens... it wouldn't be right for the system to be torn apart, especially after all the effort she's put in to help maintain it.

[- Personality -]

Osmo's personality is one of a mature, if somewhat overly friendly adult. She is the type to welcome anyone into her home, as long as they aren't overtly hostile... though she isn't naive, and she isn't blindly friendly and loyal to everyone who steps through her door or gets into her way.
She is stable, sane, and cordial, though she can just as easily be ruthless and calculating, should she find the need for it... as sometimes, there are enemies that can't be talked to, or negotiated with. There are those who would rather see her, and her family, destroyed... and she cannot allow such a thing, as long as she lives.

She is a mixture of an introvert and extrovert, and quite a charismatic, yet deeply intelligent individual, and also acts as the guardian and guide for her sisters, despite Otomisiiki being her guardian just as much as she is hers. She prevents the two from getting into trouble, and helps them when they run into problems... and, she's a deeply caring sister, who remains loyal to the two above all else, no matter what.

She is also a down-to earth individual, and is extremely charitable, as she is the type of person who sees it as the duty of her and her sisters to help those in need, whilst advancing technology and ensuring security, are secondary concerns. Thus... much of her own 'wages' go straight back into the Softworks department, or into charitable endeavors... as does much of her energy and focus.
She is extremely docile and calm when she is provided a location surrounded in technology, as she loves to hear the sounds of fans, computer processors, and other electronic systems.
She also enjoys being surrounded in nature. As she loves to observe and experience it...
Despite all of this good in her... and her generally docile and calm temperament, and her willingness to speak, always... she has always carried a pistol and taser, worried that anyone could, possibly, attempt to do harm to her. She is saddened, but aware, that it is something that must be done for her safety.

Finally, she is deeply caring for nature, and for those who suffer. As a result, she is known to take great pains to prevent damage or destruction to anything that might be caused by her sector of the company, and she also presses her sisters into doing the same. Though she grows extremely agitated at those who refuse to clean up their own acts in a similar manner, knowing full well that they can afford to, to the point where she will actively take actions against them if she can afford to do it. Driving polluting municipal companies into the ground, and refusing to do business with ethically bankrupt companies from local or foreign backgrounds.

[- Quotes. -]

  • "Without nature, there is no clean air.... nor water... nor food or shelter. Without nature, a world is doomed to collapse, and be destined to become another write-off in galactic history... thus, we should protect all we have, and maintain our world as good stewards, we must ensure that here."
    [-] Osmo, about environmental protection.

  • "I am no traitor to the system that this country so dearly holds to it's heart... as capitalist as I may seem, I hold no ill will towards the system, and find it absolutely unnecessary and cruel to even consider tearing it apart. It's perfect just the way it is, even if it has problems that require ironing out... some things just can't follow that system yet. I'm one of them."
[-] Osmo on the mixed socialist-capitalist system of the country.

  • "Progress simply for the sake of progress is not something I desire to chase. Perfection simply for perfection's sake... is not what I desire to achieve. Perfection and Progress is for the world, the people, the environment. I see it as my duty to help all that I can, while also using my skills to their best extent. Is it wrong to think that?"
[-] Osmo, about her personal motto, and what she thinks about it in more detail.

  • "No family is free of it's fair share of corruption and crime... every family has had a black mark on it's past, and every family has made it's mistakes. But are the current generations at fault for the crimes of their forefathers? Is it right to punish those who had nothing to do with the past? Brand me a criminal, if you would like. But I have done nothing but assist, and help, and try to improve the lives of others, through any means possible."
[-] Osmo, when previously discussing the government's attempts to arrest and imprison her and her sisters.

  • "I understand Miss Oomiya's concerns about my motives and my company, but I am of the firm belief that she has the wrong outlook on us... Sanghyeok is a whole dimension away from us, and it can be hard for those in other worlds to see things for what they are. I do not wish to insult her, nor do I feel she is truly wrong in how she feels... I simply feel she is misguided, and sees what the Governor tells her at face value, missing that which causes me to act in the way I do. Not to discredit Cetiri, she has her own reasons for concern... I am well aware of that.

I would speak to the esteemed chairwoman if I could, but I don't believe she has the time to hear my words. I am sure she is quite busy managing her own affairs in her own lands. It would only be possible if she reached out to me, and I do not expect that to happen anytime soon."
[-] Osmo, discussing what she heard about Chairwoman Oomiya's concerns and comments to the federal government, which were leaked to the public.
