INDO-PACIFIC DEFENSE AND ECONOMIC COLLECTIVE (IPDEC) FORMS INDO-PACIFIC SPACE COMMISSION TO OVERSEE ASIAN JOINT SPACE INITIATIVES

_{Following a vote between member states, the Indo-Pacific Defense and Economic Collective (IPDEC) formed the Indo-Pacific Space Commission to oversee Asian joint space initiatives and will be the IPDEC's space exploration arm. The IPSC will be based at the Borneo Space Center in South Borneo, with its main launch site being the same location. The IPSC will also establish offices in Singapore. The IPSC has a starting budget of $725 million USD, with all funds being directed towards the establishment of the IPSC infrastructure, logistics, and funding. All expenditure required for the construction of the headquarters and IPSC facilities at the BSC will be shouldered by the Indonesian government. The IPSC will be led by a committee of experts from Bangladesh, the Philippines, Indonesia, and India temporarily until an administration is sworn in by the IPDEC. The long-term goal of the IPSC is to land humans on the Lunar surface by 2040, with a short term goal of establishing the Indo-Pacific Satellite Positioning, Intelligence, Reconnaissance, and Electronic Communications System (INSPIRE) as an Asian equivalent of GPS. The Indo-Pacific Space Commission hopes to launch research and sounding rockets by the end of the year.}
