The Unified Nations of Felucia wrote:Corporate Flags - Throughout its history, the Formosan Republic has had a unique fascination of flags and banners. Regardless of where one goes within Taiwan (and any of the surrounding islands under Formosan jurisdiction) it can be guaranteed that various privately- and or commercially-owned flags can be found flying alongside the National Flag ("Meifeng") in some capacity. Among these are the flags that have been designed and produced en masse by the businesses of the Republic, primarily by larger corporations, which often serve a variety of purposes depending on their design. Smaller companies tend to use uniquely-shaped flags (typically having some sort of curvature) as a means of marketing their product(s), while larger businesses, on the other hand, tend to use common rectangular-shaped flags (with some rarely using swallow-tailed designs) as an alternative form of identification for their brand. Examples include:

  • The Carrington Institute - https://i.imgur.com/kANmsYU.jpg - Based on the design of Meifeng, but with the dividing diagonal line running from the lower hoist-side corner to the top fly-side corner and a dark blue coloration instead of green due to its association with the company. Additionally, the company logo (with the sybomlic "CI" lettering first used by Carrington Industries) is centered along the dividing line to tie the design together.

  • The dataDyne Corporation - https://i.imgur.com/2RC5dk7.jpg - A simple design consisting of a rather bright blue field with the iconic "double diamond" logo of the dataDyne Corporation centered along the design while situated within a white diamond with clipped corners (somewhat resembling the shape of radiant-cut diamond jewelry).

  • Marek Industries - https://i.imgur.com/H9DeI8A.jpg - A rare sight within the Republic, but one that exists nonetheless. The flag of Marek Industries consists of multiple layers of black and gray diamond shapes and horizontal lines connected to a black border above a white field. At the center of it all rests the Marek Family Crest, which serves as an alternative logo for the company but is seldom used.

OOC: This was just an excuse for me to post the new flag I made for Marek Industries, so I hope you guys enjoy the short read. Anyway, I'm thinking about replacing the Marek Industries logo with the flag in my factbook listing off the various (notable) businesses within the Formosan Republic, though since the Marek Family Crest would be a rarely used symbol when it comes down to representing the company, this would essentially make the official company logo non-existent in the process. Additionally, while on the topic of flags, I believe that Carrington Industries would have its own flag as well, but since I haven't gotten around to that yet, it hasn't been included. What do you guys think about everything here?

Excellent work Fel!! I especially love the Carrington one; it’s so intricate with the atomic symbol, the stars, the moon, it’s all very well done. The Marek one is also lovely, understated but very well-executed. There’s a beauty to it’s simplicity.
