Region: Empire of Andrew

German South West Africa:

Namibia is one of the two Cybusian holdings in Africa, and is also known as German South West Africa, Cybusian South West Africa, or simply Namibia.

History:
Following contact with the greater Cybusian Empire in 1945 and the concession of Germany and several former German colonial possessions to the Empire, Cybusian forces and representatives arrived in Namibia. The transfer in power was largely peaceful, although there were a few incidents of armed resistance that Evolved eliminated. The capital is still in Windhoek, but Windhoek has undergone significant changes. The capital was rapidly modernized, the German colonial architecture remaining alongside Cybusian-style Art Deco and Streamline Moderne styles, and Imperial technology rapidly making the capital one of (rivaled only by other Cybusian cities) the most advanced cities in Africa. Imperial military bases were established across the nation, and irrigation and minor terraforming made the land more productive. Ports were enlarged and airports created, and soon there was traffic between Namibia and Wagondia (both long range trade with continental Wagondia and shorter voyages to and from neighboring Angola), Cybusian Germany, and German East Africa. The Kosarek family eagerly invested in such infrastructure improvements, and they also helped fund the creation of hospitals and clinics. In the late 1960s, Hector D’Anconia purchased rights to a massive number of mines and mineral rich areas throughout the region and either began operations or modernized existing mining operations.

Major cities:
Windhoek is the capital and largest city in Namibia, and is home to approximately 1 million citizens, as well as Windhoek International Airport, which accommodates aircraft, airships, and spacefaring vessels. The city is a mix of colonial German architecture, interwar architecture and the typical gleaming Art Deco and Streamline Moderne architecture associated with the Empire, and is home to the territorial government.
Walvis Bay is the largest port in the nation, and is home to a large port for commercial imports and exports as well as several docks for Imperial ocean liners and cruise vessels. Walvis Bay is also home to an international airport with facilities for conventional aircraft, airships, and spacefaring vessels. Walvis Bay has the largest Mercerist congregations in the territory, thanks to pre-WW1 efforts by missionaries which were later resumed. The city is also home to several Ryan Arms factories and RobCo facilities.
Swakopmund is the third largest city, and has had its harbor deepened somewhat to make room for ocean liners to dock there, attracting more tourists to the beach resort and the nearby resort community of Langstrad.

Economy:
Mining is one of the largest industries in Namibia; the region has a great many diamond, copper, gold, zinc, lead, tin, tungsten and magnesium deposits, as well as smaller deposits of iron and granite. There are considerable uranium deposits as well, but extraction operations from them are limited in number and closely monitored by the Imperial government. Some is used for the creation of decorative uranium glass in the Bohemian glass industry, while the rest is exported to Timmian or Wagain firms for enrichment and use as nuclear power plant fuel. There are also some oil and gas deposits off the coast. D’Anconia Mining owns approximately 40% of the mines in Namibia, and is a major employer. Stoneheart Industries owns an additional 30%, while the remaining 30% are operated by local or international firms.
Agriculture is another large sector; thanks to irrigation and digging of canals, there are very very few droughts and agriculture is far more stable. There are several wineries, coffee plantations, and cattle or Ormann are raised throughout the region. Subsistence agriculture has become easier due to the increased accessibility and reliability of water, and those farmers who can afford one will sometimes purchase a robot like a Mr. Handy to assist in farm and house work.
Fishing is another major industry, mostly for export.
Industry has greatly expanded, there are several RobCo and Ryan Arms factories, as well as a few Stoneheart factories. In addition, there are numerous refineries to process and refine materials extracted from mines, as well as coffee packaging facilities.
Eco-tourism is something growing in popularity, while conventional tourism remains strong, Cybusians enjoying a trip to an exotic colony like Namibia, often visiting both Namibia and neighboring Wagain Angola. Ocean liners and airships regularly travel between Namibia and destinations in Wagondia, Timmy City, Cybusian Germany and Czechia, and German East Africa.

A small analysis of one of my two African colonies.
