October 2009 - London, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

| BROWN ANNOUNCES ELECTION FOR NEXT YEAR , CAMERON PROMISES TO SOLVE EUROPEAN QUESTION |

| After several meetings with Labour Party officials, Liberal Democrat Party officials, and Conservative Party officials, the Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, announced today on the steps of Number 10 that he will call an election in 2010. Brown announced to the country that he will ask Her Majesty, the Queen to dissolve Parliament "sometime in the Spring" of next year, gearing the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for its 24th General Election since the creation of the Irish Free State in 1922. Brown said that the Labour Party is heading into this election confident, despite a poor showing in the polls in recent months. Brown, Clegg, and Cameron all having been elected as new leaders in 2005/2006 will prove their leadership skills in an election for the first time.

Brown said that he will urge the party to stick to "New Labour" and keep a moderate tone for the election. Brown was an avid supporter of Blair and his policies while he was Chancellor of the Exchequer. New Labour, New Life for Britain was the centrist platform developed by Former Prime Minister Tony Blair for his 1997 landslide victory, which catapulted him to a 179 seat majority, the largest of the Labour Party to date. Brown says he wants to keep the country on its current course while fixing the rising problems. Brown has faced criticism over economic stagnation, rising unemployment, among other economic problems, but remains highly popular when dealing with social issues. He also remains popular among Labour Party members and likely Labour voters.

Clegg, who has become the first Liberal Democrat leader since Paddy Ashdown to openly challenge Labour, has found himself in a unique position. His party, which has largely been seen as centrist, has been doing quite well in recent elections, overtaking the Conservative Party in 2001, which catapulted them back into the main spotlight. Clegg has done all he can to keep the party as "radical centrists" as the party fights for the center with the Labour Party. Clegg has criticized Brown for his unfriendliness and dismissal of the cooperation that once existed between the Labour Party and the Liberal Democrats. Clegg has also promised to modernize the party while sticking to the classical label of liberal.

David Cameron is the most popular Conservative leader since Margaret Thatcher. With fiery PMQ performances and popular TV interviews, Cameron has made a name for himself and his party. The Conservative Party hasn't held power since 1997, and have shrunken down to third place behind the Liberal Democrats. Cameron said that it's time for the Tories to make their comeback, and in recent months it's looking incredibly likely. Cameron was largely unknown by the media, even when he ran for the leadership. But he made incredible noise when he delivered his speech at the Conservative Party Conference, which was picked up by the media, which ultimately culminated in his victory as party leader. Cameron has promised to bring the Conservative Party back, saying he wants to make people "feel good about being Conservatives again" and said he wanted "to switch on a whole new generation."

Cameron made headlines this week as he announced that if the Conservatives form a government in 2010, they will work with the European Union on the status of the United Kingdom in the union. Since the UK joined the European Economic Community in 1973, Conservatives have largely been divided over the United Kingdom being in such an organization. Past leaders who took radical positions on Europe, such as Iain Duncan Smith, performed poorly in general elections. Cameron's middle way approach to solving the problem seems to be very popular among likely Conservative voters, who were recently polled across Britain. |

CHAMPONG TODAY: POLITICS, ECONOMY, SOCIETY

POLITICS

    | Since 1990 when the military of Champong booted out the Soviet-backed socialist regime of Chairman Manilo, the country has been ruled by the coup leader, Captain Rajah. Upon entering power, Rajah established a military council that has ruled the country with an iron-fist, even so, the charismatic leader's authority has been fading in recent years. Despite being popular among the generations of Champese who grew up under socialism, the 70 year old dictator has fallen out of favour with younger generations of Champong. Across Champong, mass protests have been taking place with many Champese demanding a civilian government. Many of these young protesters are led by Laila Chan, a 25 year old former lawyer turned activist who upon returning from the US Paramountica has begun demanding Captain Rajah hand over power to the people. |

ECONOMY

    | In 1990, the Rajah-led military junta gradually begun reversing the policies of the previous socialist regime. Since then, private enterprise was re-introduced into the Champese economy, with relations opening up to Western countries and the foundation of a domestic stock exchange, wide-scale investment into the Champese economy and private sector has led to economic growth taking place at an average annual rate of 6.2% since 2000, making Champong one of Southeast Asia's fastest growing economies. Since the liberalisation of Champong's economy, huge capital has been raised to launch numerous infrastructure projects such as new highways, railways etc. Even so, government spending on education and healthcare has dropped significantly in the past 10 years resulting in recent strikes that have called the potential of the Champese economy into question. Many experts argue if the massive wave of protests doesn't stop soon, Champong's economy may experience a crash. |

SOCIETY

    | Under the socialist regime of the past, Champese information was strictly censored to pro-government media & information only for the consumption of the masses. However, under the Rajah military regime, despite the military holding total power and instituting a series of repressive laws to maintain iron fist control on power, the country has been at its most free in history. Many libraries across the country have finally begun to gain access to Western books and journals on ideals such as Ermanism from Germany Bayern kahla among others, in addition, many private news agencies have been given permits to operate whereas prior to 2005 they had to operate underground. Even so, the freedom of information has led to more criticism of the Rajah regime and the lack of personal freedoms in many regions of the country. For instance, in the east, many Melanesian minorities have been subject to martial law with curfews, and Christians who form less than 10% of the country's population, have regularly complained about persecution. Champese society has also been named one of the most unequal societies on earth with the rich to poor income disparity being huge. These social issues have been a key contributing factor to the mass protests taking place across the country. |

PROPOSITION 174/2009 — RETURN OF IMPERIAL PROPERTY
PROPOSITION 175/2009 — GRANTING OF STATE PENSION

GRAND NATIONAL ASSEMBLY VOTES TO RETURN IMPERIAL OTTOMAN PROPERTY AND GRANT STATE PENSION

      | After the recent passing of Prince Ertuğrul Osman, the Head of the Imperial House of Osman and three days of national mourning, the Grand National Assembly convened. The proposition at hand was a bill calling for the immediate return of all Imperial property, including palaces and crown jewels which were seized in 1922. In addition the Assembly would vote to grant the Imperial Family a state pension of 2,000,000₺ which is just over $330,000 USD a year. This sum takes into account the various other forms of income utilized by the Imperial Family and a number of social and charitable projects which they have headed since their return to Turkey. A few additions to the bill included the implementation of government provided guards which should be pulled from the Presidential Guard units and the possibility of Prince Turan I Osman whom is now the new head of the Imperial Family serving in a diplomatic capacity much like the royal family of the German Federal Republic. As Speaker Bülent Arınç called the vote, members of the Justice and Development Party AKP dominated the tally. The Grand National Assembly has voted 363 in favour and 237 opposed on both propositions with the Republican People's Party unanimously voting in opposition and the AKP voting in favour. |

PROPOSITION 174/2009 AND 175/2009 ADOPTED

  • All Imperial Ottoman property returned to the Imperial House of Osman

  • State pension of 2,000,000₺ Turkish Lira granted to Imperial Family yearly

  • Imperial Family granted protection via Presidential Guard until Imperial Guard unit is formed

  • Prince Turan I Osman granted diplomatic office as Special Envoy of the Republic of Turkey

PROPOSITION 176/2009 — DEPLOYMENT OF TURKISH SECURITY FORCES TO UNITED GULF EMIRATES
PROPOSITION 177/2009 — PRODUCTION OF NUCLEAR TIPPED WARHEADS

GRAND NATIONAL ASSEMBLY VOTES TO DEPLOY TURKISH SECURITY FORCES TO UNITED GULF EMIRATES AND BEGIN PRODUCTION OF NUCLEAR WARHEADS

      | After a recent call for assistance from the United Gulf Emirates (Philanialle) after unwarranted and seemingly aggressive military behavior occurring within the Republic of Arabia (Mocalistan), Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has submitted a proposal to deploy up to 20,000 Turkish troops to the United Gulf Emirates in order to serve as a buffer and hopefully prevent future aggression. In addition and due to the circumstances regarding the Republic of Arabia's subsequent acquisition of 20 Agni-1 short range ballistic missiles with nuclear fixed nuclear warheads from the Maharaj Republic (Alzarikstan), the Prime Minister and General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces have proposed the need to produce our own nuclear warheads which may be fixed onto Sadık intermediate range ballistic missiles which are currently in service. Given the Republic of Turkey's existing knowledge and ability to produce nuclear technology and advanced weaponry, the conversion of at least 100 Sadık IRBMs is estimated to take no more than a year and would be subjected to United Nations weapons inspectors and shall be in full compliance with UN regulations. Speaker Bülent Arınç called the vote and the Deputy Speaker kept the tally. The Grand National Assembly has voted 330 in favour and 270 opposed on Proposition 176/2009 to send Turkish Security Forces to the United Gulf Emirates and 351 in favour and 249 opposed on Proposition 177/2009 to begin the production of nuclear warheads. |

PROPOSITION 176/2009 AND 177/2009 ADOPTED

  • The Turkish Armed Forces will begin the immediate deployment of 20,000 troops to the United Gulf Emirates

  • The Republic of Turkey will begin the immediate enrichment of weapons grade uranium

  • The Republic of Turkey will begin the immediate production of 100 nuclear warheads to be fixed onto Sadık IRBMs

  • Turkey's nuclear weapons program shall be subjected to United Nations weapons inspections

  • Turkey's acquisition of nuclear weapons shall be in full compliance with UN regulations

Excuse me if you RPed it at some time and I just didn't see it but IRL Turkey has never been capable of producing it's own nuclear armaments. All nuclear stockpiles in Turkey are American, at least to my knowledge.

Sketch artists depiction of 'The Doctor'

Recently within the past few months, police officers have been responding to calls of mutilated bodies being found in various areas of Pretoria, Centurion and Johannesburg. Upon finding the bodies, forensics and law enforcement officers have found them to be surgically mutilated in a very clean manner, everything from vital organs to extremities having been removed with surgical precision. However, any fingerprints or signs of the suspects DNA have been traced, the only clue being a discarded Volkist Iron Cross near one of the bodies, the cross being in pristine condition and confirmed to be an authentic iron cross. All of the victims were either criminals, or corporate business men and women that faced jail time for corruption, however, that did not change the fact that they had a serial killer walking the streets of all three cities, and they knew it wasn’t a copy cat just based on the state of the bodies. Seen as a joke, but slowly becoming a possible reality, the sketch drawn by the artist depicts the possibility of a crazed doctor turned serial killer, or an admirer of the hated and once feared Josef Mengele who conducted sickening experiments and surgeries during the Second World War. Law enforcement across the area have been put on notice because of these killings, and they know more are to come.

Everyone carried on eating as other topics of conversation flowed, to do with politics. This would now help Marko understand where exactly he was and what was going on.

Larson: I don't know if you two have seen recently on the news but there have been protests all over the country, many aspects of daily life are on shutdown. I think the Rajah regime is going to kick the bucket... it's terrible.

Elsa: Terrible I think not. Rajah did good getting rid of the commie government, yes, but he's had his time. He's 70 now, he should give power to the youth to decide their destiny. Most of the people protesting had never grown up in the socialist era....

The word commie would trigger Marko into one of his headaches and all he would be able to hear was a deep, raspy voice speaking in a language he'd recognise as Afrikaans talking about how he'd slaughtered commies in Vietnam, the voice called him son every now & then...
