It’s already happening just look at India

Being a unionist doesn’t make you a nationalist. There are hundreds of reasons one might want the UK to stay together and that’s true of many Welsh, Scottish and Irish people too.
There’s a difference between loving the UK and wanting it to stick around and thinking it’s better than everyone else and can do no wrong.
I don’t want the UK to end but I’m not a nationalist and I hate the BNP.
There wasn’t much nationalism that lead to Australian independence, they were a white colony that got all the benefits of being a white colony which lead to their gradual autonomy and then independence.
American independence was based on actual bad treatment, not just disagreements but literally treating them like a second class part of the empire because the UK needed some more cash for its wars.
Indian independence is a different matter, but considering that nationalism lead to the slaughter of innocent British civilians I wouldn’t say it was 100% justified even if I think India deserved independence.

Indian nationalism currently causes issues with Pakistan and Muslim Indians too which is not good.

I get you, it's a very sad situation in India rn. Horrible Government doing Horrible things, that led to horrible disasters. I just want the world to realise these sorts of people are horrible and should not be voted into office.
Ah, I get it. Your nationalism is so special that it's not nationalism. It's just patriotism. No. If you want to maintain the British state, that makes you a nationalist. That doesn't mean you hate others or think the UK is better than everyone else but it does make you a nationalist by definition. Everyone in the world is a nationalist if they believe in creating or maintaining a nation-state. I suppose the only people you could say aren't nationalists are those who wish to abolish nation-states altogether.

It also causes issues with Sikh, Christian, and Jain Indians which isn’t good either

At this point I define nationalism more as superiority of nations. That’s how it’s used by extremists and I don’t think anyone should want to be associated with the term anymore, unless they genuinely believe they are better than people from other countries.

It’s mainly Narendra Modi who has no idea what tf he’s doing and blows $2 billion on a new house instead of paying attention to the COVID spike and the farmers protests

You may associate nationalism with extremism but others don't. I'm fine with the nationalist label despite unionists and the media always trying to use it in a pejorative light.

I mean it goes both ways. People calling British nationalism bad but Scottish nationalism good. I think it should be either neither is defined as bad or both are.
Which is why I think it’s useful to have terms that differentiate from the extremists and the more grounded people.

Both nationalisms are neutral. It's the attitude and actions of the people professing it that make it good or bad.
Rivierenland and Yasquia
In Scotland's case, nationalism is roughly defined as "national identity", more similar to patriotism than to actual nationalism.
In Britain's case, nationalism is roughly defined as "national superiority over all others".

I'd say not every unionist thinks like that but the unionist politicians in Westminster definitely think like that. Thinking they can just say no to a referendum forever and the uppity Jocks will just have to accept it.

you mean h-
which flag do you think is good for my nation?
Just interesting question based on the poll: Does anyone else's nation in its current form have a founding date the day they joined NS. For example, I joined NS in 2017 and that is when my nations is created
