It really depends on where I’m living at the time! My old town used to have an art festival which I loved going to every year. I especially liked watching the glass blowing, but looking at everyone’s artwork was awesome too. In high school my favorite was a school “dance” where everyone would do funny or absurd skits and dress up in silly costumes and then we’d all jump up and down and scream the lyrics to pop songs that most of us barely knew. There was also a voting contest for whoever’s costume was the “stupidest.” I never went to any actual dances but that one was a lot of fun. Right now my favorite is Halloween because I work at a dog daycare/boarding place and a lot of the customers bring their dogs in funny costumes during October and everyone votes on the best ones. When I was a little kid I loved thanksgiving because my family was still semi-functional back then and I liked making a big fancy dinner with my dad.

My favourite festival is a light-themed festival that takes place each year in my city in October. There are loads of art installations based around light all across the city. It takes place at night and it's really lovely to walk around for hours to try and find all of the art. They also usually have some short music or poetry performances that you can go to, and there's always some really great street food stalls.

Even though I'm no longer religious, my favourite holiday is Pancake Day. My wife and I invite a bunch of friends to our house the weekend before and just make as many pancakes as people will eat and it's a really fun tradition that we've made over the years.

Never been, but I'd like to get to Oktoberfest some time. Bring on tjhe b33r!

I never heard about that one before today, that sounds really cool! If I ever go to Brazil I'd definitely want to visit while that festival was happening.

Awww, I love how yours has changed but those all sound so fun. I've never seen glass blowing irl so that sounds like the most amazing competition to see in person!

My favorite holiday in my old country is Undas or Day of the Dead. Our families would go to the cemeteries to the graves of our relatives and eat lots of food and celebrate. In my new country, my favorite is Thanksgiving pretty much because of the food and the general mood of it.

Looking up pictures of Undas, I am very taken by it. Just seems like a lovely time. I wish my country had more communal celebrations of the dead, especially in the cemeteries themselves, rather than the somewhat solitary and somber occasions that our memorials often tend to be. It seems like it would be quite beneficial for the families.

Thanksgiving because of my grandma's famous jello with fruit in it. It still makes my mouth water.

Let's say you were to zoom out on the map. Does the world and everything on it get smaller, or just the world?

The last part was a stupid question, disregard that

I'd say the map takes place on a separate pocket dimension of the internet. In some frame of reference, it is the world. In another frame of reference, it is an infinitesimally small allocation of it.

Everything gets smaller, yes, it's a 1:1 based on your screen size and zoom level.

What happens when multiple people are viewing it at different sizes

Is it a case of "Each screen has a different map"?

Every Refugia map is personalized.

Every view is simultaneously correct!

It's too bad we can't get a badge for being lowest 1% in a stat. I'm personally proud of having lowest 1% patriotism on this nation and my alt Blod and Meolc (0.5% and 0.7% lowest respectively).

Do yinz have any stats you're proud of being really low?

My book publishing stats shot up to 16,000 in a span of less than a week. How did that happen

Same! With only 0.35 flags saluted per day, I noticed it yesterday.

A 0.13 score in weaponization. Bottom 99%. And on the subject of weaponization, this is the same reason I have pacifism at the top 5 of my top metrics

I have a bottom 1% stat in Rudeness, I'm in the bottom 250 for it. But mostly I'm proud of that cause I've been secretly trying to have Tiralta be less rude than Typica for months.

Typica is my favourite stats player on NS, and so he is definitely someone I take inspiration from. (Anyway, I fully expect that he will wake up, answer some issues and once again be less rude later today)

Izzalia wrote:

My black market is top 95% and corruption is top 97%.

Izzalia wrote:

My political apathy is top 97% (bottom 3% ig?)
and religiousness is top 92% (bottom 8% ig?)

Izzalia wrote:

I am in the bottom 100% for scientific advancement with -357

Almost all of my low stats. I'm at the top 100% for patriotism, defense forces, law enforcement, woodchipping, arms manufacturing and mining. Low weaponization, obesity, corruption, charmlesness, death rate, political apathy, crime and wealth gaps are nice too.

Also proud of my high stats except for rudeness. What's weird is that I'm top 4% for rudeness and top 2% for niceness. I feel like these stats should counter each other.

I'm a Democratic socialist again thank God. Nothing wrong with an authoritarian democracy but like the name has the wrong vibes yknow

I like to think of this as Australia - where they'll call you a c*** but they'll do it in a nice, friendly manner.

I could point out something wrong with an authoritarian democracy by just typing the name.
