I’m not really doing anything.

Our ancient ancestors noted that the synodic period of the Moon was about 29.5 days. And during that period, the Moon entered four distinct phases. These were the New Moon, First Quarter Moon, Full Moon, and Last Quarter Moon.

Of course, 29.5 days divided four ways meant an interval of approximately 7.375 days, but mathematics being what it was in the days of tally marks, it was just easier to call it a week of seven days.

Thus the week is a lunar phenomena...

A Luñar phenomena...

Alunya phenomena.

This week is also the week that Shin-hachioji has managed to tie the Cat for the seventh day running, with 1,380 endorsements given!!

Her disappointment is immeasurable and her week is ruined, and her month may be next.

Nothing wrong with that, you're new to nation states?

Does grindoligarch have bauxite specifically? Mined within grindoligarch

Heulia wrote:Does grindoligarch have bauxite specifically? Mined within grindoligarch

Grindoligarch has two bauxite mines, but not exuberant amounts of bauxite due to domestic use. We have enough to trade, but not enough leftover to singlehandedly supply a second nation after we use it ourselves in manufacturing.

I've messed up my internal clock, I'll probably force myself to sleep with some melatonin or something.

What about a glass of milk and honey?

King Leopold III has reportedly challenged many of the members of the Investors Council, including the paramilitary ceo himself over his position.

Yes I understand. However trade of bauxite would still exist. Thank you.

What about chromite or chalcocite?

Territorio di Nessuno wrote:What about a glass of milk and honey?

Can't have honey for health reasons and milk doesn't tend to make me tired; I'll figure something out. Thanks for the concern though.

Territorio di Nessuno wrote:What about a glass of milk and honey?

Perhaps Snek could pour a splash of milk in a saucer, leaving out the honey, and put it either on the floor or the counter?

"Get that Vickers to the other side, we'll det this place to 'ell!" A Sergeant said, having a Vickers team and Rifle team fall back across the bridge to the other side of the river, the other side of Conigsby.

As the two teams fall back, futher up the road stands a CT MK III "Lighting." It is covered by rubble and sandbags, the turret knocking one or the other every time it traverses. The gun fires THW-POUGH, hitting, and bouncing off, a HLA Type 69 MBT, a Chinese tank. The crew hurridly loads another round, meanwhile backing towards the Bridge. The Type 69 turns its 100mm towards the seemingly puny CT MK III, and fires, burning most the crew and leaving a gapping hole through the forwards hull. Before the ammo cooked off, the Tank Commander crawled out, semi-limping as he runs to the bridge. He passes YSF troops, armed with only Lee-Enfields, as they retreat in full force across the bridge, no order, simply a full route.

As the YSF troops finally make it across the bridge, it is immediately destroyed, taking a couple HLA Type 69s and a Type 79 with it into the watery depths of the 'River Mulwazibund'. With this left only one other bridge across the river, the Capital, and without a crossing, the HLA couldn't continue its offensive.
-------------------------------------------------
YSF Forces are in full route, luckily faster than the advance of the HLA. Some groups hold out until they themselves must fall back, a plan for a defensive line is set up, else the Capital, and Yelacapeva itself will fall.

The YSF quickly began to adapt the Lee-Enfields to the jungle, making 'Jungle Gun' variant out of the reserve rifles, and beginning to rotate those out with the ones in current use. Meanwhile they desperately scrambled to buy a tank capable of actual destruction of a Type 69, as the only guns they made in Yelacapeva were far too light to deal with the threat, not to mention the small industry of the new nation.

What about chromite or chalcocite?

Yes, we do have an excess of copper and iron minerals; including chromite and chalcocite. We have a great amount in stockpile so we'd be all for trading it as it is collected.

Does grindoligarch a minimum wage?

Heulia wrote:Do you have a minimum wage?

Seeing as industry is state-controlled, we base salary on work completed with a minimum wage individual to each job type. So every person who's a miner as a certain minimum wage, teachers a different minimum wage, etc. But a miner who completes more work than one of his co-workers will receive more pay that month. Jobs are paid the same base wage (Differing based on the job) but Grindoligarch prefers quality over quantity and a worker who does more will receive extra while those who slack will be fired. Why do you ask?

I have relatives who used to live there and I have been there many times. After all, I am British.

The Saint Amaryllis government has passed a bill, that puts an additional 12,000 soldiers scattered across all borders and border stations, bringing the number for troops active to thirty thousand. With the highest amount of troops being stationed in the Desert that is the border between the Tsargorvian Republic and the Zyfaqiri Caliphate as it is the longest border of 4 borders it shares.

The Day Democracy Almost Died

June 25th, 1964

United States Naval Base Echo, Havergonia.

When Daniel joined the Tanabonain Navy, he didn't expect his MOS to be this boring. Listening. Ugh, why couldn't he have been a fighter or bomber pilot? Sure, there wasn't any wars going on, and there hadn't been for... well... a long long time, but still. Being a pilot would be the best job in the world, wouldn't it? Flying around and striking people who can't even touch you, or even the dance that is a dogfight, every G you pull an intricate and calculated move as you wove through the sky dodging Cannon fire or the occasional missile, and oh boy the joy of seeing a foe spiraling to the ground in a ball of fire... Daniel stopped daydreaming and adjusted his glasses. The reason he couldn't be a pilot.

He went back to the radio, and heard something he never thought he would- a transmission. Not just a random Radio broadcast, but an actual transmission. He honed in on the signal and began to scribble down what it was saying, and when he was done felt a bit of joy and a pit of despare in his stomach. The Democratic nation, Yelcapvia, one of Tanabons trade partners was under threat to guess what? Commies. He almost instantly stood up and turned to walk, only to be tangled in the chords of the radio headset.

After a few swears he ripped the headset off and continued down the hall, to his officer.

Eventually after a chain of this, the message Reached Seattle. The response was simple:

"The United States of Tanabon can offer Anything you wish to fight the threat of communism. We can send anti tank weapons, advisors telling you the uses, helicopters and pilots for them, M16 and M14s, modern machine guns, modern tanks, anything you wish. We are there for you, and will not let your nation fall without a fight. We are here for you."

The transmission was sent from the Secritary of Defenses desk that day. It was also accompanied by a message to the lead military recruiters to begin Mobilization of the Marines, Army, and Navy. The Air Force was also set on alert. With one Tranmission, the United States of Tanabon declared war on the HLA.

"Of course, we would be happy to accommodate and visit your nation instead. President Flores will be dispatched shortly.
-Secritary to the President, Todd Goodmen"

President Flores sat in the chartered jet that would take them to the Vapian Colony before he would be taken to the nation of Sartinania. He looked out the window At the sea shimmering by and heard the jet engines whistling as they pulled the aircraft forward. On board the aircraft was also a TCIA agent, Special Agent Richard Witherspoon. He was on the visit to provide security and if needed other tasks. He sat in the corner, not saying a word. In his mind though he was thinking about what this small country had in store for the future. He had a feeling that the small nation would go far, after all, free armies fight better than tyrannical ones. They have more to lose. like during the Tanabonain Civil War.

President Flores was quiet as well, mostly thinking about what would be good topics and how to be as respectful as possible, though of answers to hard questions, and most of all reminded himself to have fun!

In any case though, he was nervous. The country he was headed to hadn't had that much contact with too many nations, and he wanted Tanabon to make a good impression.

After the brief layover and taking to some Vapian soldiers that were mulling around the airport, he began the flight over wilderness to the grand nation of Sartinaynia. He took a sip of his brandy, and then went to take a nap. When he awoke, they had landed in Sartinaynia. He blinked a few times and adjusted his eyes to the light before disembarking from the aircraft to meet either a crowd or reporters or a few individuals. He adjusted his black suit, and stepped out.
