He crossed his fingers as he stared at his girlfriend's eyes. Carson began to twirl his hair in an act of nerves. The 16-year-old baseball player placed his hand on his girlfriend's as they began to watch the sunset. "Happy six-months, babe," he said with a look of happiness in his eyes. Alexis got up and hugged him tightly. They held that hug for what felt like a good thirty seconds. As the sun began to fall beyond the horizon line. She closed her eyes and she placed her lips on Carson's. He wrapped his arms around her waist and she wrapped her arms around his neck. They both took a good forty seconds to enjoy the moment itself before they both pulled away.
Both of them looked into each other's eyes with a smile on their face and they placed both of their hands in each other's. A feeling of love and passion filled both of their eyes like the spark of a fire. They smiled warmly before they sat back down in each other's arms. Carson took Alexis's glasses off lightly and cleaned them before placing them back over her eyes. "I need you to know something..." he said.
"Hmm?"
"Ooh, love. No one's ever gonna hurt you, love... I'm gonna give you all of my love. Nobody matters like you..."
"Of course you'd say that," she said as she laughed a little bit.
She placed her head on his shoulder and they watched the sun go down over the ocean before they turned back to go down the hill. She took his hand and they walked the nature walk down. The dirt underneath their shoes had a new sound. The walk down hit different now that they were walking hand-in-hand. They walked this trail six months ago, and they continuously took this hike to watch the sunset or to look for the cross. Now, they just enjoyed coming up here together.
They were met at the bottom by her friends. "It was about time," they said. Carson walked to the other side as he was approached by Jayla, the mutual friend who got them together all those months ago. "What did I tell you back in September?" she laughed,
"You said, 'Buckle up, partner. It'll be awhile before you two smoochie smoochie'..." Carson laughed as he rolled his eyes,
"Yes, I did. And was I wrong?" she smirked,
"No. No, you weren't. Thanks, Jayla..." he laughed as he rolled his eyes,
He took Alexis's hand as they went back to her house on cloud 9 as they approached her parents. Carson shook their hands and went inside and sat in a chair next to Alexis as they turned on a movie that they'd watch.
