The State of Maac is a gargantuan, efficient nation, ruled by the Governor with an iron fist, and remarkable for its complete lack of prisons, complete lack of public education, and absence of drug laws. The hard-working, cynical population of 43.96 billion Maacians are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

The minute, pro-business, well-organized government, or what there is of one, prioritizes Spirituality, with Industry, Welfare, and Defense also on the agenda, while International Aid and Law & Order are ignored. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Capital Heights. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 6.4%.

The powerhouse Maacian economy, worth a remarkable 2,257 trillion betales a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is led by the Gambling industry, with significant contributions from Soda Sales, Woodchip Exports, and Basket Weaving. Average income is 51,362 betales, but there is a significant disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 176,212 per year while the poor average 10,987, a ratio of 16.0 to 1.

Elections have been outlawed, Maac has designated Capital Heights as its capital city, and The Governor has just been declared ruler of Maac in an international press conference. Crime is a serious problem, perhaps because of the country's complete lack of prisons. Maac's national animal is the deer, which can occasionally be seen sifting through garbage in the nation's cities.

Maac is ranked 234,066^th in the world and 1^st in Maac for Largest Cheese Export Sector, scoring zero on the Mozzarella Productivity Index.
