The enormous, corrupt, moralistic, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Administration. The average income tax rate is 71.5%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but stagnant Mocoshian economy, worth 13.5 trillion credits a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector is led by the Door-to-door Insurance Sales industry, with major contributions from Arms Manufacturing, Beef-Based Agriculture, and Information Technology. Average income is 10,416 credits, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Some magnifier-wielding Mocoshians say Leader seems a little lacking in something, songs of praise to Leader are filled with coded messages from the resistance, drill sergeants yell in the ears of bespectacled nerds in cybermilitary "reboot camps", and women wearing male lounge-wear are quizzed for hours by mental health practitioners. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Mocosh's national animal is the Mocusian bogsnake, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.
