The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 4.415 billion Teccyians are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

The minute, pro-business government, or what there is of one, prioritizes Defense, with Law & Order and Industry also on the agenda, while Spirituality and International Aid receive no funds. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of City Lizard. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 4.9%.

The very strong Teccyian economy, worth 269 trillion dragonpieces a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is broadly diversified and led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with significant contributions from Automobile Manufacturing, Uranium Mining, and Pizza Delivery. Crime is a problem, with the police force struggling against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Teccy's national animal is the rock, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.
