Scary, and the basis of "I, Borg", which is probably the single best episode of Trek ever made. Not just because it lifts the toilet seat on the Federation, so we can get a glimpse of the selfish genocide-considering psychopaths floating below in the odor neutralizing pool of pseudo-liberal utopia, if only for a second.
DS9 coulda done some more of that (it kinda sorta did), but we got mostly Captain Space Jesus instead. :|
All autonomous cleaner bots are strictly forbidden from injuring any house arachnid, under penalty of permanent battery removal. Not only are they an all-natural and organic pest control, but we once observed a tiny cellar spider (a.k.a. "daddy long legs") take out a wolf spider. It was decided that peace was a prudent course of action...
Ah, "Conspiracy." The episode with the on-screen face/torso phaser barbeque. Only episode of Trek ever to get a viewer discretion warning (in the US, anyway, so far as I know). Even if the CG was technically feasible, it's probably better that TV Trek didn't go any farther down that road. Not that it's particularly offensive, mind, just not really Trek.
Where's the Quantum Skip button on the Quantum Remote of my Quantum DVR?

I am the undergrowth of Forest, so it can't be me either.
I guess that leaves us with you or CWA, Turbeaux!
Lord Dominator, Turbeaux, Canaltia, and Rivienland
DS9 had Section 31 trying to commit genocide against the founders. I would argue that is much more than a glimpse in the Federation's toilet! It is a shame that both Into Darkness and Discovery have misused S31 so egregiously!

My region, nonetheless! ^_^ (I'm the founder :P)
Lord Dominator, Turbeaux, Canaltia, and Rivienland
DS9 Section 31 could have been a fascinating study. On the one hand, the dangers to the democratic order of black operations are obvious and manifold. On the other, the necessity and utility of intelligence gathering is the same. Ah, the moral, philosophical, and story telling potentials abound. Naturally, we got a black leather Gestapo-trope instead.
It's OK though, because the Garak-centered stories fill in that niche nicely, if incompletely, and not nearly frequently enough. Another fantastic character robbed of the screen time he deserved.
Lord Dominator, Turbeaux, and Canaltia
Yes, Garak was great! The Wire and the pair of episodes where he bombed his own shop and then was forced to torture Odo were some of DS9's best!

Why are you everywhere at once?
Hello everyone
It's the last few days of the South Pacific Design competition.
Aim & Objectives
The South Pacific (TSP) seeks a unified design language across its various government bodies. This includes a standard font and colour palette which can be used in posts by the Cabinet, Assembly, High Court, etcetera.
Application & Target Audience
These logos will be applied to all official posts and correspondences issued by their respective authorities. The logos will largely appeal to a domestic audience with regular updates from government bodies. They shall also be used abroad in foreign embassies and in the NationStates Gameplay forum (NSGP).
Design Brief
There are no limits to the number of designs an individual can submit. They may choose to enter one submission or, if they so desire, twenty-eight.
Submissions should:
have dimensions of no less than 100 pixels in height and no more than 800 pixels in width;
have a transparent background;
utilise a readable font which should be free to use (please also provide the name of the font(s) when submitting the entry); and
be submitted in both raster and SVG form.
In particular, submissions should include one logo each for the following government bodies:
The Cabinet
Ministry of Regional Affairs
Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Ministry of Military Affairs
Delegate
Local Council
Legislator Committee
Chair of the Assembly
High Court
Council on Regional Security
Entrants are advised to use the following colour codes (provided in the following spoiler) as a guideline for their designs.
Please consult the Charter (constitution of TSP) for information as to the responsibilities of these bodies. Alternatively, entrants may message a government official who will be more than happy to detail their various functions.
Please note that all submissions should exclude any material, images, iconography, or symbols that are copyright protected. Similarly, submissions should only use fonts which are free to use.
Submission
Please telegram the Minister of Regional Affairs Beepee with the submission. This can come in the form of a link to an Imgur album, a link to a Google Docs, or a NationStates dispatch with the submission as the content of that dispatch. There is no set way to do this. Entrants may choose to include a detailed presentation explaining their design choices or they may simply feature the designs themselves. It is ultimately up to the entrant.
The submissions will be collected at the end of the submission period and a forum poll will be conducted to determine the winning entry.
Eligibility
This competition is open to entrants of any region.
Timeline
Submission period: 4-21 March 2019
Voting period: 22-27 March 2019
Prize
The winning entrant shall receive an official commendation by TSP's Ministry of Regional Affairs. Should the entrant have an account on TSP's regional forum and/or Discord server, they shall be placed in a special mask for a period of one year as a display of the region's gratitude. In addition, when a currency system is implemented on TSP's regional forum, the entrant will receive a significant payment.
It's open to all...
I'd love to get your entries.
Submit by 21st March!
Love, Beepee 😚

I'll pretend I didn't hear anything, just this once. ;)
Only out of the nonexistent goodness of your heart.

And then In the Pale Moonlight, which is arguably the best episode, was another Garak heavy one.
Lord Dominator, Turbeaux, and Canaltia
That one is right up there along with the premiere (best Star Trek premiere ever, I wish that Quark's stayed the way it was depicted in it) along with Trials and Tribble-ations. I liked Sisko's fourth wall breakage because it made his narrative of the series of events extra-interesting!

Well the first piece of advice I would give you is to not start an RMB post with the same word repeated 20 times. Forest has a pretty different RMB atmosphere from most big regions, and if you continue, it might be viewed as spam.
Second piece of advice: cutting funding to other programs, such as defense or industry, is a good way to get a good environment faster than just trying to increase environment funding when you can. Of course, that results in less funding for other desirable things, but sometimes you have to pick and choose to have great stats.
Third: There's a tool I use in my card farming puppets that predicts the outcome of issues. The average isn't always correct, but it is most of the time. Especially for weather, since weather changes the same amount every time for each issue option. It would be a very fast way to build environment, but if you aren't careful, you might end up with some strange other stats. http://www.mwq.dds.nl/ns/results/
Fourth: The two above are if you want to get a good environment fast, disregarding other stats. If you want to have other good stats, the answer is patience. Choose what you think the best option is for every issue, and go off of that. It's slow, and takes a while, but it worked for this nation, and I'm pretty happy with my stats all around.
Edit: This first post is pretty new, so I'll just put this here.
What is going on with the security council proposal? To me, it looks like a nation from a pretty fascist region calling someone a fascist for being anti-fascist, using fascist-esque methods of misinformation. What a mess.

Oops i edited my post and delete too many words as you advised me and those who liked my post thats a Word for Appreciation :D

Lord Dominator, Turbeaux, and Canaltia
Yeah cos of a typo.
I mean, if you're not great at proofreading that's fine. But you should really, really do the absolute basics and get someone to give it a once over.
Ruinenlust, Lord Dominator, Turbeaux, and Canaltia
I am slightly disappointed that it did not stay up and get voted against!
