The Ur finds that this resolution, “Language And Education Rights For Deaf Individuals,” is purely good, and will service may who bear this non-voluntary affliction. The young ur urges all Foresters vote For this resolution, but also knows that even without full support from our beautiful region, such a purely good resolution will not fail to pass.

I agree that this sounds like a good resolution, but please remember than the WA is an opt-in basis. It’s laws only affect voluntary members, so it cannot be held accountable for forcing nations to follow legislation. And if it drifts to the left, that’s probably because most of its members are less right-wing, which again is not the WA’s fault. You can’t say that something forces you to do things against your will if you decided to let it do that, unless it abuses its power, which the WA doesn’t really do.

Middle Barael, the Ur acknowledges that we are not force to joins the WA and plan to take our leave of that body for above stated reasons. The dramatic Ur is in way, “blowing off steam, and also using contrast to (hopefully) drive our point home.
P.S.

We in Ur sympathize and admire this action.

I have decided to resign from the WA so that do not have to follow the increasingly meddling laws that they enforce upon their members without mercy. I will however be continuing with the WA with my puppet North Doyooni.

I went for a space theme this time.

While I will miss the quaintness and the fun trees, this is a decidedly better flag. Well done.

Where's the fun in that? If you can't say "All Mongolians love cats" or "All Peruvians have small ears" then what are we even doing here? The internet is where people go to be awful and here you are being reasonable and nuanced!

It's sickening.

No true Scotsman generalises.

Middle Barael, speaking of secular Jews, I guess you could say that most modern HK Chinese believe mostly in being Chinese. As in we'll light incense sticks, burn hell money for the dead, and respect monks but we're also often atheist. Actually I'm in the UK, but I'm HK Chinese in ethnicity, and British and Chinese in culture. So I'll sing Christmas carols, celebrate moon festival, and am atheist too. Of course having lived in London I'll also happily celebrate an Eid feast and a divali dance too. Guess I believe in fun.

Or to be more accurate, ad a humanist I find moral value in celebrations based on things which aren't true. Divali is as good as Star wars day for me, because it brings community and culture and joy.

I prefer to think of this puppet's name more like a lovely, responsibly-maintained campfire. Very comfortable, providing light and warmth to those around it, friendly and sociable, allowing people to cook with it. I would never leave a fire unattended long enough to start wildfires and harm the forest.

Interesting fact, some trees actually rely on fire in order to open its cones and set seed. But, that's dependent on actual wildfire, not human-made ones.

Fire is both creation and destruction. It is both peace and fury. It is beauty and grace, as well as ferocious and unforgiving. Cruel and ugly. It is both beginning and the end, for the Big Bang is thought of an explosion of a point of infinite temperature, mass, and pressure, into all that we see today. And one possibility for the end of the universe is a return to that Primeval state. Even better, all we can do is wonder if this is how our universe dies, and if so, does this mean that this process has been continuing indefinitely in all directions of time? Were all past universes exactly the same? Or were they all wrought of completely random events? Is the universe truly random or not?

These are the things that keep me up at night 😅

OK so double posting is frowned upon, what is a double post exactly? Is it when I make two posts simultaneously with no room for someone to post in between, is it if I post the same post twice (that can happen sometimes if the internet is slow) or is it a double quote or what exactly and why does it matter?

Double post is when you make two posts with no post from another nation in between. There is a delete button and an edit button, so you can edit your post to include more information or delete it.

Don’t worry, I too had this same problem when I first joined Forest. Just remember to edit your most recent post if you want to add more information unless someone else has posted since then.

I just submitted an issue and im hoping that it will get accepted this time because ive written a lor of issues but none of them have gotten accepted yet. So i'm hoping this one will work.

Make sure you draft your issues on the Got Issues forum. People will give you lots of feedback and editing that will greatly improve the chances of your issue being of high enough quality to make it into the game. Also be patient about it. It can take months or even a year after submission for an issue to be accepted.

Today I learned that Pythagoras, creator of the Pythagorean theorem, was basically a cult leader and might have actually not made the Pythagorean theorem. And I'm amazed that no one really talks about it.

And he also likely murdered a member of his cult for discovering the square root of two. The YouTuber Vihart has an amazing video on him, that I would certain recommend

If you haven't learned to assume everyone from history was either a murderer, a cult leader, didn't actually do what they are famous for, or was secretly a woman/ghost the whole time, you haven't been paying attention.

Not the insomnia?

Newvigen wrote:Hopefully I like fire isn't burning down all the trees...

I would hope not! That would certainly interrupt Drystar's illegal logging to expand his pirate fleet. How inconvenient!

I recommend Japanese folk music if you wish to get tired, unless of course you understand Japanese, in which case Indonesian folk music would suit your needs better.

Really, does anyone actually understand folk music? To this day I still can’t figure out what Bob Dylan is saying on 90% of his songs.

“Folk Music” is much too broad a category to handle effectively, but as for Bob Dylan, you’re in good company there - even Bob has varying explanations. This video is a good starting place: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MGxjIBEZvx0

Edit: Sorry, I probably should have quoted that, for Drystar’s benefit
