I grew up in the Ozarks. Poplar Bluff, MO is divided by Black River: the north and west are part of the Ozarks and the south and east are part of the prehistoric Mississippi/Missouri system. Once you cross the bridge by the courthouse from west to east in PB, you leave the Ozarks.
