I do like that particular policy, though I can see how it could also be roughly considered authoritarian, you allow just enough freedom that most things can be expressed, but 'extremist' rhetoric is not at all tolerated beyond when it's wildly unpopular and ridiculed by the rest of society.

Do you actually like the policy since its authoritarian or was that a simply typo and I am just mistaken. Also, Velvet and her government is quite stringent when dealing with people about politics. In Velvet's Realm, you wouldn't be able to fool anyone with the pathetic "I was only joking, I swear ain't no [insert a nazi of any other name here]" or "am just a comedian" excuse when using it to deny atrocities and imply a certain people are genetically inferior while maintaining close cooperation both covertly or overtly with those organizations who hold such ideas. The Academia will tear these types of spineless people apart.

Oh no no. I like the policy for what it does, since I genuinely despise it when people get away with saying horrid things that honestly shouldn't be permitted. That's what I was on about.
I just wanted to mention the fact that it would certainly look authoritarian and possibly have a risk of going too far into restricting freedoms.

Does your nation implement a similar stringent approach when dealing with fringe politics? I will admit that a strong state that genuinely strives for democracy and improving the living standards for its common folk and address their issues while being able to fight off stalinist and reactionary influences is quite appealing to me. Though, I am quite fine with Libsocs.

We don't tend to implement similar policies like yours, but we do have a limit to what we will tolerate in regards to what is said about people.
Any blatantly racist remarks about non-human, or human residents or visitors to our nation are to be considered defamatory remarks, and can be tried under law as such if the individuals being targeted want to do so, we also limit wildly racist or overly dramatic sources of media, but do not completely ban them from existing. We have always striven to allow opposition to show itself, and Governor Cetiri sees no reason in curtailing rights and freedoms all because a small minority threatens to set fire to anything they see.

So, I just had a thought to counter my boredom and to fill some time. I’m going to write another story/RP post pretty soon, still taking a break from my current story arc, but I want you guys to choose the story for me. You guys give me a prompt, and I’ll write it. If you have ideas, tell me on here or telegram me. Tomorrow, I’ll put up a dispatch with the options I like and have everyone vote on it. Then I’ll write whichever one wins. I’ll repost this in the morning so that more people see it.
