End me and end my internet service provider.

It took a little reformatting, but I have posted a news article concerning an RP election in my nation as a dispatch. I hope to do more of this in an effort to get some of you to join the forumside RP. Your nation, your story. Join Bantam Harbour.

My internet is fine when it works.
But it drops every 5 minutes.
Every online game I play, unplayable.
Every stream, unwatchable.
And its been like this for months.

And here I thought Greece has bad Internet... You know, a barely developing country. *hugs*

The problem is Cox (I prefer my correct spelling for this company but that won’t end well) doesn’t have any competition here. They’re the only ISP that invested internet cables in this city. I guess there’s CenturyLink but that has even worse customer service and techs.
Unfortunately, the US is still developing when it comes to internet.
Even though we made it.
And NASA has the best internet speeds.
*sigh*

Good morning, TSP!

Auphelia & Drystar, your little exchange earlier had me laugh out loud at the office.

Drystar wrote:Oh look, 2 things on the WA agenda. So far I’m neutral on the SC measure, but I tend to vote against most of those mentioning individuals.

The GA one I’ve only done a single reading, but I’m leaning to voting against it as it stands. I’ll have to read the arguments for and against before I really make up my mind

On the SC resolution at vote (Commend Auralia), I think CD put it best when they stated that Auralia has done more for the game than 99% of its players. The reason so many are voting against it is because of one lapse of judgement half a decade ago, and Auralia has done more than enough in the time since to make up for it with other contributions. I'm voting for.

On the GA resolution at vote (Protecting Personal Privacy), TNP is recommending an "against" vote and its reasoning makes sense to me:

General Assembly Vote Recommendation

Part of the Information for WA Voters program

Resolution at Vote: Protecting Personal Privacy
Vote Recommendation: Against

Resolution Analysis
Protecting Personal Privacy, while well intending, gets caught up in its own over-worded clauses and ultra specific definitions. The proposal denies governments the ability to view the data unless specific situations occur, which could cause governments to take larger action than realistically needed in order to view items pertinent to national security and gross crimes before an investigation could be opened. The definition of 'user' is so specific that there is not an easily discernable definition to 'non-user' seeing that it is not defined. This error makes Clause 3, sections 2 and 4 difficult to enforce. Clause 3, section 4 also allows for people to remove evidence of their specific person ever interacting with an organization unless 'there is a clear and compelling safety or disciplinary reason to do otherwise such as loans or criminal records'. This becomes an issue because there is no way to determine if such information could be used in the future for criminal or civil proceedings without those proceedings taking place, thus putting these organizations in a state of limbo. Additionally, Clause 4 allows organizations to prohibit a person from using services if they do not consent to their data being collected, however does not address what happens if a user provides falsified data. Furthermore, Clause 5, section 1 seems unclear if the resolution wants member nations to grant private individuals the ability to go after organizations who do not follow the resolution or if the WA member nation itself must take action against organizations who do not follow the resolution.

In accordance with the reasoning above, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs recommends a vote Against this proposal.

And now generally on WA things, how many people would appreciate discussing and talking about upcoming WA resolutions (GA or SC) on our forum? Advantage is that it's a space for just TSPers without the "baggage" of the NS GA forum, in a way that's a bit organized than the stream of the RMB; the disadvantage is that it's off-site and I know quite a few people here on the RMB don't want to be off-site for one reason or another.

I'm considering keeping up-to-date threads there again but I don't want to do it if they just end up unused afterall, on the other hand it's a bit of a chicken-and-egg problem, so I want to gauge what sort of interest there could be.
