The hard-nosed, cynical population of 32 million Aaerisis are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The enormous, moralistic government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Welfare, and Defense. The average income tax rate is 73.4%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but inefficient Aaerisian economy, worth 1.48 trillion dinars a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, with major contributions from Woodchip Exports, Cheese Exports, and Door-to-door Insurance Sales. Average income is 46,253 dinars, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The police think a properly conducted criminal investigation is a real pain, books are often used as kindling, extraordinary rendition is nothing out of the ordinary, and government popup ads are springing up like weeds. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Aaeris's national animal is the Aaerisi Lynx.
