The Northern Light wrote:Greetings everyone!

As part of our card giveaway program, the following members of the Cards Guild have been gifted cards:

Congratulations!

If you also want to participate in the card giveaway, you should become a member of the Cards Guild. It doesn't take more than two minutes, and you can then request and receive as a gift any non-legendary card you wish!

Great Card Giveaway

TL;DR: Get the cards your heart desires!
~ Join The North Pacific Cards Guild, and optionally become a Keeper of the North.
~ LinkPost on the forum to request your desired card.
~ Have the card gifted to you as soon as regional nation The Northern Light finds it.

What is this?

Have you ever experienced this: You answer each and every issue, until the magical button appears...

You prepare to open the pack, hoping, wishing, praying, to get that one very special card....

You start flipping the cards one by one, and then.... nope, it's not there.

It happens all the time :(

Do not despair! The North Pacific Cards Guild is here to help. How, you say? Through The North Pacific Great Card Giveaway!

This program allows you to request a card you desire. Then, as soon as one of the nations Card farmer 1 to Card farmer 2000 finds the card, they will gift it to you for free!

This sounds great! Are there any rules?

Yes, there are a few:

How do I make card requests?

You can request cards on Linkthis forum thread. Make sure to read the rules above first (also listed in the first post of the forum thread).

Where can I see other requests?

You can Linkclick here to find a list of all current requests.

Why can I not request legendary cards?

Legendary cards are reserved for rewards given through the The North Pacific Card Lottery (see right below), as well as during special regional events.

Who has been gifted cards in the past?

Fulfilled card requests are announced on The North Pacific's RMB. Below you can find a list of all previous announcements. The requesting nations and gifted cards are also tabulated in Linkthis Google spreadsheet.

Are there any other ways I can get cards for free?

Yes! The North Pacific Cards Guild runs all sorts of activities that can provide you with, among other things, free cards for your collection. So make sure to check them out.

Additionally, if you are a Keeper of the North, you automatically enter The North Pacific Card Lottery. This gives you a chance to win free legendary cards for your collection.

Finally, you can participate in the executive government and win free legendary and epic cards through the Executive Card Rewards. To maximize the number of cards you can win, you can join the Executive Staff, Cards Guild, and North Pacific Army.

Why are the "Card Farmer" nations gifting us cards?

The government of The North Pacific operates nations Card farmer 1 to Card farmer 2000, and uses them to expand the card collection of regional nation The Northern Light. This includes the cards used for the giveaway.

Can I help?

If you would like to contribute, please feel free to donate cards you do not need to regional nation The Northern Light. We are particularly interested in cards of common rarity, of nations that have ceased to exist, and with eight or fewer owners. Thanks in advance for your cards!

What if I still have questions?

Please feel free to contact Minister of Cards and Guildmaster Destructive Government Endorsing System. They would be happy to help!

This dispatch is updated automatically on a daily basis. Please do not edit manually.

Greatly wrote:President Agno pours themself a small cup of green tea, which they slowly sip from as they attempt to de-stress. For a moment, they close their eyes, allowing themself to pretend that they have finally dealt with rebuilding Greatly from the chaos that had so recently seized it. Then, they open their eyes with a sigh, viewing the still-massive disaster that Haym has left through them to sort through. Glancing at the letters and bad news piling up from Republica Guilleana and The Democratic Kingdom Of Skaraborg, they sigh deeply, cursing Haym for being so charismatic and excellent at forming friendships under their breath. His breakdown had caused an absolute crisis in the international pacifist community, one that they frankly have no idea how to solve.

So they attempt to take their mind off of this issue by glancing through some of the international files that Haym had compiled - although they had all been tainted by his crazed scribbles at the end. However, they pause on one oddly thick file - that of Xeosia Later. Leafing through it, they find little but maddened scribbles distrusting Vice President An, and even accusing him of being a spy - President Agno lets out an incredulous scoff at this last bit as they consider just how close Haym and An were - but at the very end of the file, they find an odd sheet of paper. Haym had apparently missed this piece of paper on his distrustful rampage through the records. President Agno studies the piece of paper carefully, viewing the carefully compiled notes on a supposed Xeosian agent, rumored to be called “Tin Soldier”. President Agno sighs again as they look at the paper, deciding eventually that perhaps pursuing this lead will allow them to take their mind off of the wreckage of Haym’s administration. They gaze at the piece of paper carefully, looking over the evidence on “Tin Soldier” one more time...

Lovisa Gejervall arrives in Greatly and struggles to find the government building, she has to ask four different Greatlyians before remembering that she actually knew where the building was. Even though she didn’t have the same friendship as King Oscar III had to Haymitch she couldn’t stop thinking about when she first met him. The thought occupied her mind whilst she finally reached the building and was about to phone Agno that she had arrived.

However just as she phoned Agno, she felt that she had been hit by something on her right arm. She saw a dart which had gone into her arm and she suddenly started to feel ill. A couple of people sprinted to her but instead of helping her they managed to put her in a big, black van. She couldn’t fight back or scream; the dart had injected her with something She knew she was going to go unconscious but she also heard someone speak through the phone. Was it Agno who answered her call? She quietly grabbed her phone and looked at the screen. If it was Agno maybe he could save her...

The man approaching the helicopter gives a respectful salute as it touches down and Colonel Yu is escorted out of it. He steps forward to introduce himself to the colonel. “Greetings, Colonel,” he remarks. “How excellent it is to meet you at last. I’ve heard of your daring feats, and they sound simply brilliant! I simply wish we’d had someone of your tactical caliber in the Greatlyian military back when I was in charge...

“Oh, but of course!” He exclaims. “I haven’t introduced myself yet, have I? I am officially Lieutenant General Marsha, although my proper rank is somewhat up in the air ever since they demoted me from General for my use of, ah... prohibited tobacco substances...” He begins walking down a path towards a vehicle presumably meant to take the men towards Prosperous.

“But I digress. Anyway, you were probably expecting a politician or bureaucrat from this getup they stuffed me in, eh? But no, I get to show you around this place because I seem to be the only one in this blasted nation with any blasted semblance of military know-how...”

Lieutenant General Marsha looks up, seemingly escaping from dwelling on his thoughts as he reaches the car. “Right! Well, there she is...” Despite all his apparent bad-mouthing of the nation, he has an oddly fond expression on his face as he gestures towards the city of Prosperous in all its mismatched glory. “The central point of the struggle to seize this nation by the scruff and shove it into the present day. The government is trying to force modernization in every way they know how, but the people are stubborn, and old habits die hard.” He chuckles. “Hopefully these troops you folks have so generously provided should give us something to work with and help us kick these efforts into high gear. Anyways, I suppose it’s time to head into Prosperous and for you to see it for yourself... unless you have any questions first?”

February 7th, 1969. Prosperous, Greatly

The General scratched his chin as he walked down the lane to the car, however despite all the welcomes and most notably the surprise that it's no bureaucrat this time - he then opened his mouth to speak "Well, the troops can't do much outside of manual labour and some engineering work of course. And uh.. I can see your government is trying to force modernization, albeit a bit questionable in terms of methods." he scratched his head as to how he should respond to him, being a formal representation of the nation and all "As for kicking modernization to high gear, well that's the task of the companies. Not really me, I'm just an old war veteran who somehow ended up in this tropical land." he took a moment to take in the sights as he looked around in front of the car, "And as for er, my feats. Of course, they're great at least to those who do their research and read but.. let's not get into that, shall we?"

He'd sigh as he thought of the world around him again, before snapping back to the word Lieutenant General and asked "Wait, you said you were a.. uh.. Lieutenant General, yes?" he asked with a curious expression, obviously intrigued due to his lack of knowledge that Greatly even had a standing force. "So you lead.. what, 30,000 to 50,000 men I assume? Sorry for the lack of information, I didn't know that Greatly has a standing army. Let alone my superiors, we were told they had none."

"And military experience, you said?" he asked, even more curious from every word that came out of his mouth as he basked at the sight of a fellow military man "I'm curious as to what sort of engagements and the sort of military education your nation has provided. But nevermind that, we should be focusing on giving the brass above and the government a good first impression." as he approached the car, slowly opening the door to let himself in before then saying "And er, just so you know. Yes, I also find it weird they had someone from the military be responsible for first judging impressions."

The General scratched his chin as he walked down the lane to the car, however despite all the welcomes and most notably the surprise that it's no bureaucrat this time - he then opened his mouth to speak "Well, the troops can't do much outside of manual labour and some engineering work of course. After the meeting, your leaders may, at their discretion, tour local attractions and sites of interest to learn more about the current stratocratic socialist regime.

Hmm...interesting for being among the most average in TNP, never reached that milestone before since TNP is the biggest region out of the entire NS.
