MINISTRY OF FOREIGN RELATIONS: JAPAN REDUCES TRADE BARRIER TO INDONESIA & PROPOSES A JAPAN-INDONESIA ALLIANCE ALONG WITH ECONOMIC SUPPORT (New Provenance)
EMPIRE OF JAPAN | TOKYO METROPOLIS, JANUARY 2024

    | MINISTRY OF FOREIGN RELATIONS - | A week ago, Japan increased the trade barrier for Indonesia with some restrictions that would make Indonesia's trade with Japan a little more difficult. Now, after a meeting between His Excellency Prime Minister Suga and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Toshimitsu Motegi, both talked and Motegi advised Suga that the Executive Order that instituted this trade barrier should be revoked. After that, Suga publicly announced that Japan regrets its "mistake" and proposes a Japan-Indonesia alliance to the Indonesian government along with economic support. Kantei, at a press conference a few days later, confirmed that Japan will place Indonesia as one of the main allied/partner nations for Japan alongside the USP, EU, Joseon, PRC, Russian Federation, Zaire, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, among others.

FOREIGN MINISTRY: INDONESIA 'ENTHUSIASTIC' TO PURSUE JAPAN-INDONESIA ALLIANCE, WELCOMES RENEWED JAPANESE SUPPORT FOR CLOSER TIES

The Foreign Ministry of Indonesia announced earlier today the country's enthusiasm to pursue a Japan-Indonesia bilateral partnership to strengthen ties. Foreign Minister Reto Marsudi commented, 'the Indonesian government is happy to welcome Japan's renewed enthusiasm for the establishing of stronger and more powerful ties with Indonesia'. Although the Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Transportation, and the Ministry of State were visibly irritated by the now-revoked Japanese heightening of trade barriers, the Chancellery chose to pursue closer relations with the Empire of Japan rather than a path to antagonize Tokyo. The High Chancellor, Anetta Jane Komarudin, said, 'the administration's new foreign policy dictates closer relations with nations we previously antagonized. Japan is a valuable ally to Indonesia and I want to keep it that way'. The Foreign Ministry has issued a memorandum to Tokyo calling for a bilateral conference in either Tokyo or Jakarta to discuss the endless possibilities of a stronger Japan-Indonesia alliance.

CHANCELLERY OF INDONESIA FORMS THE MINISTRY OF HUMANITARIAN SERVICES, WITH ERNEST RIAN AS MINISTER OF HUMANITARIAN SERVICES

The Chancellery of Indonesia, which are the offices of the High Chancellor and Vice Chancellor, announced the formation of the Ministry of Humanitarian Services, which will serve as Indonesia's equal to Sudan's CASA program. The Ministry combines the Department of Child Services, the Department of Orphan Management, the Department of Fair Human Treatment, the Department of the Humane Treatment of Animals and Creatures, the Department of the Fair Treatment of Inmates, and the Anti-Poverty Commission. The Ministry of Humanitarian Services will oversee everything from fair treatment of inmates to the humane treatment of animals and creatures. The Ministry will be headed by Ernest Rian, who previously served as the Deputy Minister of Defense. Rian, who is reportedly a massive donor to different charity groups, was said to be 'perfect for the job' by High Chancellor Anetta J. Komarudin. The Ministry of Humanitarian Services was allocated $5.6 billion USD in funding, making it an extremely large effort to enforce humanitarian standards in the nation. The Ministry will also be given permission to call upon the 1st and 2nd Motorized Batallion, as well as the 1st Transportation Air Wing. This is to allow the Ministry to service as much of the country as possible without having to pay for civilian transport. The Ministry will continue the Anti-Poverty Commission's 'Food for All' program, supplying vital food and supplies to impoverished communities around the country.

          | Støre's Government Win Second Term |

            7th January 2024

              | Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre has successfully secured a second term as Prime Minister of the Commonwealth following the parliamentary elections today. Støre's Social Democratic Party won 151 seats in the Commonwealth Assembly, with his coalition partners winning enough seats to keep the Red Bloc in power. The Social Liberals have continued to make gains boosting their seat count to 42 seats, while the Socialist Left Party made minor loses. |

              | Meanwhile the opposition Blue Bloc have also seen a complete shake up, for the first time the Progress Party has supplanted Venstre as the largest party on the right. Progress saw an eight point swing towards it under its new leader, Sylvi Listhaug, boosting the party's seats to 74. Meanwhile both Venstre and the Danish People's Party suffered some their worst results in decades, with both leaders opting to resign the leadership. |

              | Støre's leadership through the Coronavirus Pandemic 2020-21 is thought to have boosted opinions on his leadership style, and the general weakness of Venstre as well as the largely negative opinions of the Progress Party have bolstered the Social Democratic Party's polling. Time will tell on whether Støre will merely be a two term Prime Minister or whether he can win a third, a first for the left in the Commonwealth. |

MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS AND COMMUNICATION: NEW CONSTITUTIONAL REFERENDUM REDUCES THE PRIME MINISTER'S TERM LIMIT
EMPIRE OF JAPAN | TOKYO METROPOLIS, JANUARY 2024

        | MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS AND COMMUNICATION - | This January was one of the many twists and turns in Japanese foreign policy. On internal issues, the Suga-Abe Administration conducted a public opinion poll for 2024, in which people would respond whether they remained for or against the Prime Minister's current 8-year term. However, surprisingly, surveys found that about 85.4% of the respondents changed their minds and opposed this 8-year term limit, even saying, "On second thought, Japan is not a dictatorial regime for a leader of ours to remain for so long in power [...] Other countries, including the Paramericans, may think that we do not value democracy," say the respondents. With that, Kantei publicly announced at a press conference that a new constitutional referendum will be held to reduce that term limit to 4 years again.

        | MEKDELLA BREHEN, MERI of THE GALLA | "I'm glad to hear about how the transition has gone for you. Unfortunately, there's always going to be something biting at our heels, wouldn't you agree? There's hardly a quiet day in these times."

      | Their convoy of vehicles makes it way to Addis Ababa, a testament to everything the Galla is about. Towering residential complexes rise over the city, and the streets are adorned with flashing neon lights, advertisements in Ge'ez, English, Italian, for products from around the world. All along the way, cheering crowds can be seen waving flags from buildings. Their route purposefully goes through some more artsy districts, where displays of Gallan Afro-Futurism are on full display on the sides of buildings. It's all very new wave art, but never without a nationalistic slant. After a bit, their vehicle finally arrives at the Grand Council building. |

        | MEKDELLA BREHEN, MERI of THE GALLA | "Sultan, come along. We'll be having the conference, and there's time for a wonderful dinner right after."

      | By this time in their journey, there would be no more press or crowds. They had an uninterrupted walk into the building, and into the large conference room. Statues of the ancient gods stood at the corners of the conference room, and the ceiling was a beautiful piece of artwork representing the celestial realm — stars, nebulas, as if the entire universe was condensed into this one grand room. There were seats for the Turks and Gallans, right across from one another. Aides would pull back the seats for the visitors, offer drinks and small snacks, cigarettes, and let them be. Mekdella looked around once everyone was set.|

        | MEKDELLA BREHEN, MERI of THE GALLA | "Well...to our esteemed guests from the Sultanate, and my friends from home. Welcome to this most momentous of occasions. We've got much to discuss, so allow me to dive right into it. Our little corner of the world, Sultan, has become quite active. Sometimes, in more ways than we would enjoy. To us Gallans, it's no question that the greatest threat to our existence is Egypt. I take it, Sultan, that the Egyptians are also a thorn in your side as well. What with your.. budding Sultanate."

      | SULTAN ABDUL HAMID III (ORHAN OSMANOĞLU) | Yes Mekdella, there is that always one time, everyday has their own flaws.

      | The Sultan admires the great economic developments that the Galla went through, looking at the towers that reach to the sky, waving to the people in the buildings. The Sultan is impressed on the Gallan Afro-Futurism art on the buildings....Once reaching to the Council Building looking around the art of the conference room, once everything was set, he sat down, thanking the Aides for pulling the chairs back...he responds to Mekdella|

      | SULTAN ABDUL HAMID III (ORHAN OSMANOĞLU) | The Egyptians are a threat in several ways, and the most threating one is militarily, the Egyptians are catching up in the amount of Tanks, and other Military vehicles, perhaps its the same for you? The Arab League is another threat, it may not do much or may be inactive, but we must not underestimate it. With the Egyptian navy also catching up to the Sultanate, it is being even more of a threat. As much as Egypt is concerning for you, it is also concerning for me.

However it would be more than um... good if we started off with just a tiny footstep. MECO has done wonders for Sudan, hopefully British cooperation can further the development of Sudan only if situations here die down.”

PM Salva Kiir :| "Oh Mr. Boris there is no problem here. Every nation has diplomatic hiccups of mess ups but I assure you that the Sudanese mainland is under no threat thanks to our allies and partners. The situation is due to die down as Parliament contemplates withdrawal of troops and the return to normalization of Sudanese foreign policy to how it was before the Chadian civil war. I can guarantee you the co-operation that can be mustered out between London and Khartoum can be proven to be beneficial to both nations and in turn strengthen Sudan's relationship with the United Kingdom for as I see it we are the only Anglo friendly nation on eastern side of Africa."

COLONIAL COMMISSION WILL NOT ENACT GUINEAN REFORMS IN MOROCCO

      JANUARY 2024

The Spanish Colonial Commission has announced that the reforms it has enacted in Guinea, which have been vastly successful at providing a better standard of living and has already massively increased the real income of the Citizens there shall not be expanded to include Morocco. Financially speaking said expansion would be much too costly due to the vast population difference between the two Colonies. It is stated that while the entire Reform program in Spanish Guinea had a cost below 4 billion USD per years, the same reforms would cost upwards of 95 billion per year if enacted in Morocco which is almost four times the current revenues raised in the Colony. The Colonial Commission made it clear however that it still plans a separate reform package for Morocco, "specially" tailored for its economic and geographical situation.

Taking direct responsibility and administration for the Drâa-Tafilalet, Souss-Massa & Guelmim-Oued Noun Regions is the Spanish Conglomerate UDI (Universal Defense Industries / Industrias de defensa universal) which is a joint venture between Indra Sistemas, Inmize Sistemas, Instalaza, Navantia & Santa Bárbara Sistemas. Being a Conglomerate of the Defence Sector their main stated goals in the region are developing its armaments related potential which include resources vital in the construction and production of weapons systems such as Copper, Cobalt, Silver and specialized Steel products. While UDI shall naturally not possess a full monopoly on the region, they have taken ownership of all resource rich/resource potential regions within the three provinces that were previously seized by the Spanish Government during the invasion. As monetary compensation for this takeover, the Spanish Government has received an initial offering of 14.5 billion USD along with a deal providing them with 20% of profits (after tax) for the next 80 years.

"Projecting Defense far and wide, only with UDI" - UDI slogan

Similar deals as the one given to UDI are underway with multiple other Conglomerates, in an effort to decrease the monetary influx needed by Spain to maintain the Colony. Other candidates include Spanish Holdings Corporation (Banking Conglomerate of the 8th largest Spanish Banks with total current profits of over 50 Billion USD and assets of over 2.3 Trillion), Repsol Combined Conglomerate (consisting of Repsol and its two subsidiaries, Repsol Morocco and Repsol Royal Guinea) and finally RFC (Residential Futures Conglomerate, consisting of the largest Construction and Real Estate Companies in Spain). Under the proposed deals, responsibility for expansion and maintenance on public services would fall to said Conglomerates with Spain maintaining only the Health Sector, Law Enforcement and naturally Defense. Each Region would also operate its own Law Enforcement to function alongside that of Spain.

      | MECO DEMANDS FOR SUDAN TO STOP REFUGEE DEPORTATION |

      | The situation in Sudan amidst the growing refugees deportation has made worldwide attention and has made the MECO Human Rights Commission and the MECO leadership heavily concerned. With the Supreme Court of Sudan ruling the deportations as unjust, it was believed that a change of course would of been made but it hasn't. As so, MECO Human Rights Commission under the leadership of Chairman Abdullahi Taheeri, has filed a report to MECO's President, House of Equality and the Parliament about the situation and proposed a course of action in form of freezing the budget funds for 2025 for Sudan if the situation does not change.

With the report under review, President of MECO, Ahrana Zahani has stated that MECO refugee camps, two that are currently on the territory of Sudan, are not under sole authority of Sudan and will not be emptied. All refugees in MECO camps, which number to 16,200 will remain open and all refugees in them will be safe from deportation. Furthermore, President Zahani has stated that the camps will continue their operations and that any attempt by Sudan to paralyse them will be taken with extreme measures. President Zahani, has however, went to Sudan to meet with the President and in her press conference stated that "...MECO will help, like it has so far, in dealing with the refugees...help through financial means, practical means and solidarity means...but deportation of those that have escaped torment, death and persecution is not what MECO stands for and will never tolerate such behaviour..."

The House of Equality and the President has given Sudanese leadership an option of stopping mass deportation of refugees and stabilisation of the situation with the aid of MECO. President Zahani has also promised to conclude a special meeting of Council of Nations ( a body of member leaders ) to determine what should be done next with the refugees in Sudan, and whether a resettlement program or return to Chad program should be enacted. However, the second alternative given is that if Sudan does not stop the deportation of refugees by 18th of January, 2024, both the House of Equality and the President will decide as to whether freezement of Sudanese budget funds for 2025 will occur. |
