The Sultanate of Al-Rum is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Sultan Abd al-Rahman IX with an even hand, and notable for its keen interest in outer space, avowedly heterosexual populace, and prohibition of alcohol. The hard-nosed, devout population of 2.283 billion Al-Rumians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The medium-sized, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Ghordhova. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 28.8%.

The powerhouse Al-Rumian economy, worth 208 trillion Dinars a year, is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with major contributions from Tourism, Retail, and Trout Farming. Black market activity is frequent. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is 91,425 Dinars, but there is a significant disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 268,262 per year while the poor average 24,562, a ratio of 10.9 to 1.

The government tells its citizens to 'forgive and forget', children as young as eight can present logical proofs for the existence of the afterlife, carrots are orange, apples are red and food waste is increasing, and there's a lot of babies crying for milk in the middle of the day. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Al-Rum's national animal is the Lion, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its national religion is Islam.

Al-Rum is ranked 145,326th in the world and 2nd in Council of Islamic States for Most Income Equality, scoring 9.16 on the Marx-Engels Emancipation Scale.
