The Emirate of Tajah is a mid-sized, environmentally stunning nation, renowned for its ritual sacrifices, compulsory military service, and absence of drug laws. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical, devout population of 62 million Tajahs are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

The tiny, pro-business, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Education, and Administration. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 5.7%.

The very strong Tajah economy, worth 4.53 trillion dollars a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is broadly diversified and led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with major contributions from Gambling, Cheese Exports, and Trout Farming. Average income is 73,099 dollars, but there is a large disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 329,316 per year while the poor average 10,001, a ratio of 32.9 to 1.

It is considered unpatriotic to learn a foreign language, restaurants have noticed that hanging wet laundry from the ceiling makes diners order more food, "The Daily Sacrifice" is a routine segment of morning news shows, and deli patrons examine their roast beef for undetonated explosives. Crime is a major problem, with the police force struggling against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Tajah's national animal is the viper, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Tajah is ranked 56,142nd in the world and 921st in The East Pacific for Most Cultured, scoring 71 on the Snufflebottom-Wiggendum Pentatonic Scale.
